Machac had a clear game plan of playing behind Carlos and wrong footed him throughout. He executed well. Machac also knew where Carlos would anticipate when at the net. @@5karmax yeah great comment bro ! Machac with his technique has the capacity to create a clear and affective game plan to beat Carlos ! Thanks for the insightful analysis. That being said, we must also understand that winning streaks always come to an end sooner or later; they imply stacking loads of physical stress, mental fatigue included, in your system and one day you will be beaten. You’d expect a tribute in the form of a victory, something fitting for the man who inspired him. Instead, it’s a stumble, almost as if the weight of the moment crushed him.

Well done Mahac..what a performance....outclassed lil Alcae...The kid is getting beaten these days by quite a few of the agile, athletic and talented on the ATP tour......and so he learns a vaulable lesson....when you perform at a level that is higher than most, you will triumph over them initially, BUT human nature is such that their level will rise as well, its how we humans compete....and if you do not have higher levels to rise to.....defeat will stare you often in the face...as is the case these days with Alcaraz.....for me. he still is the most talented tennis player I have ever seen.....but talent alone will not determine whether you will be the GOAT......ask Novak...he has been there done that...AND still doing it...the GOAT, BOAT, KING, LION, LEGEND, the one, the only....the NOVAK !!!

When Sinner and Alcaraz are not able to play, at 95% level or more, you have another pool of sharks that have the ability to play-who at times- are on top of their game! Unlike the days of the big three, there is a much higher pool of talent lagging not far behind nowadays than there was 20 years ago. So it's very very difficult to reign throughout the whole year and this applies to both to Sinner and Alcaraz. His opponent has played UNBELIEVABLE this week as I've watched those bullet, low to the net forehands shackle players this week. Congratulations 👏👏 to him!!

Alll a matter of winning attitude. All theses guys in the top 30 theoretically have the skills and the power to beat the top 3. But you need to 1.) find you skills in the match, 2.) have the concentration to perform at peak level not only for a couple of shot but for an entire match and 3.) have the mental power to dare to use your skills and believe in the possibility to win. Good for Machac he rewarded himself. And a good match by Carlos - nothing to worry about. Just plain old top level sports.
