    Ouch man! I know the feeling of having the rear differential explode while driving but not on the highway! Yikes! AOAA looks like an amazing place and I can’t wait to get there. Get Well Wally, just another excuse to keep upgrading!

      Haha it was definitely an experience on the highway. AOAA is awesome I highly recommend it! Thanks

    That sucks that you made it out of the trail and broke down on the way home man. Still a great video and was a really cool collab with you and trail expeditions!

      Thanks man! It's definitely a shame it happend. Plus side is it forced me to regear so that should be a nice upgrade. Downside is the jeep has been down a few months and the cost has eaten into my trip budget for this year. Glad you enjoyed the video it was a fun one to make

    Let us know when you will be at Holly Oaks! I would love to meet you there if possible!

      Everything is up in the air right now. The jeep is still down currently. So I'm not sure if it will still happen this year or not.

    ouch!!! I am guessing the pinion nut came off because it probably was apart at one time and reused.. The pinion nuts have a 1 time use.

    • @WheelinWithWally

      I'm also thinking that's what happened. I'm just guessing but from all the wheeling and the drive shaft breaking the day before I'm betting it helped loosen the pinion nut.

    Such an awesome trip minus the ending. We need to nail down dates for Windrock.

      Jeep goes into the shop in a few weeks

    Wow, really sorry to see Wally in such a bad way. When you smashed down on the gas tank skid I thought maybe that was going to be your issue, didn't guess it would be the diff's. Any idea what the route cause was? One positive for you, at least in the US you will be able to get parts fairly easily and find people to work on Wally, in the UK these days there really aren't many people willing to work on TJs.
    Anyway, hoping repairs go as smoothly as possible and best wishes from the UK.

    • @WheelinWithWally

      Thank you! I'm not completely sure what caused it. Yeah parts and work are not hard to find here it's just a little expensive. That's a bummer about the UK. How common are TJs over there? I think possibly when my drive shaft broke in the previous video it slightly loosened the pinion nut and then it worked itself off on the highway.

      @@WheelinWithWally don't know numbers, but unless I go to a Jeep event I can drive around for months and not see another TJ on the road.

    Looks like a killer time! Why do you think you prefer AOAA over Rausch?

    • @WheelinWithWally

      If I remember right Rausch was way more expensive and much smaller. AOAA just seemed more fun. It was marked better, the trails were more fun, views were better and it just felt more like an adventure for some reason. That's just my opinion though. Both parks were still fun but if I could only go back to one I'd pick AOAA personally

      If you've ever been to Windrock in Tennessee that's how AOAA felt to me.

  • @long-jeep

    That was an unfortunate ending to what looked like a fun day. 😕
    The silver lining in that gray cloud is that you can now regear to 4.88 or 5.13.
    p. s. collaborations are fun and usually beneficial to all involved

    • @WheelinWithWally

      Yeah that wasn't my preferred ending that's for sure. I was going to go 5.13 but the shop kinda talked me out of it because the ring gear is cut so deep they said it would be a little weaker. So 4.88 it is

    • @long-jeep

      @@WheelinWithWally - I'm not trying to talk you out of 4.88s because they will serve you well being that you are in a flatter part of the country but what that shop told you is an old "wives tale". The same thing used to be said about 4.88s. I've been running 5.13 Revolution Gears in my LJ for going on 5 years. If you think about it, no reputable gear vendor would sell them if they were unreliable and warrantied often. Yet they all offer 5.13s for TJs. Even 5.38s are available but those only fit in TJ Rubicon D44s.

    • @WheelinWithWally

      @@long-jeep makes sense. I did also read that 4.88 is a little nicer to daily as well. But it's to late at this point the gears have been ordered lol. I think I'd be happy either way though. Thanks for the info
