20 years ago I was a clean up truck on a local mall plow crew. I had the only Fisher in a bunch of Meyers and Westerns. I never had an issue during one of the worst winters on record here in NEPA. One night the boss asked me to go down to the other store lot and start the clean up until another larger truck or loader was available. 3 hrs in and i had to call for the loader as I had finished the whole lot with exception of the wind rows on a night a 12-14in snowfall. After that one of the othe drivers came for me to help plow the access road. He was ahead of me struggling with his ****** plow and was amazed that I was not only taking on a full blade but at speed the Fisher was throwing the snow over the guard rail without problem much like a commercial blade. I have been using Fisher Plows ever since. Even though I no longer plow commercially I still own and always will own a Fisher.

All we run up here in New England is Fisher for about 90% of plows on the road, they 100% deserve their reputation of being tough as hell and one of the best mounting systems in the industry.

I'm running a 8ft snowex straight blade this year on my 1500 so far it's working amazing. I love the down force mode it has, when back dragging it brings everything with no losing snow when back dragging.

You can't beat a Fisher. I always wanted to make the switch and this year I did, a 9.5' Stainless XV2. We only had one dump of snow so far, but the thing is so bad ass in every way...and soooooo sexy.

Hey Stan, noticed you skipped over the Meyer booth in your video. If you are drooling over Fisher then you really should check out the super vee 3. From Maine and that all I run. I’d pass over the plow built here in Maine for those. I run three of them on my trucks. Heavy, well built, and 5 year warranty. Thanks for the Arctic plug. Looking at getting one right now.

I love fisher got nother but positive things to say about them. I ran a 8" HD stright blade for 5 years with no major problems at all just regular mantaince, fluid change and a hydrualic hose . I now just bought a 8'6" XV2 stainless, see how i like that this winter here in Mass.

Fisher xv2 plows are great, good grade scrape, you can stack snow very high if need be with fister pushplates and plows. I smacked a rock that had snow over it and couldn't see it at 15 to 20 miles an hour and it barely scraped the plow. I love it

The Toro Multiforce / Grandstand @ 22:38 looked real interesting.
I have to admit that I have not tried a Grandstand, but I did have a stab at using a Groundmaster, which is a very similar unit, but with a seat instead.
When it became winter, we would get the plow on it, and use it for all the detail work, which it was really good for.
Just … put new tires on it when it starts to snow, or you will be spinning the winter away. 😁

Don't know if anyone notices the similarities on the Snow-Ex plows and Fisher Plows. Right down to the hand held controller. Fisher and Snow-Ex are owned by the same company. However been in Maine my whole life and Fisher is built here. Run many of them from straight blade to the XV2. You cannot go wrong!

I drive that switch and go truck in the video. I work for the company here in grand rapids. I Love the idea of the bed being switchable. The truck handles it well even when overloaded with salt. However, when there's a chance for a weight transfer between sides of the truck it is noticeable that the "bed" isn't connected. Also, Snellers' is not running any sprayer trucks despite that they demoed that at the show.

We had two steiners at where i work for the state of Minnesota. We got rid of them for a bobcat utility side by side. Guys kept on pinching their hands because they articulate in the center and get caught against the cab and controls, plus if you are tall and you hit a curb you can smack the windshield with your head becauseof no give. My boss broke two with his head.

@@tomcander3669 I'm not super familiar with their products, but looking at their headlight housing, depending on age and model I don't see why not. From what I've found most housings will require an led bulb with a low profile heat sink or fan. See if you can get the back of your housing off and find what kind of bulb is in there.

I just got my first snow ex power plow 8611
8’6”-11’ 10’scoop with the scrape maxx down pressure kit.
I ran western wide outside for the most part and they are made on same line but a few differences.
Western said it be a month or so to get my new wideout XL but had my snow ex with in a few days. So with snow falling I took a chance to try it. And satisfied
Snow ex is a all hydraulic ram lift were western was a hydraulic and chain.
Plus you can add the scrape maxx down pressure witch has been great for back dragging or when you need to scrape a bit harder.
So far i like it as much as my wide out the scrape maxx is the only difference/plus so far.
And for about a $1000 less then wide out I’m very happy with it and it’s price.
Another product I just got was thermal blades
The one thing I like over everblade I do not need a switch to turn them on and off when it hits 38° they automatically turn on so no having to forget to flip the switch

Great video Stan! An idea for a future video this snow season would maybe to get the main snow plow manufacturers (Fisher, Boss, Snow Dogg, Western, Snow Ex etc) and test the current offerings in an unbiased shootout :). Now THAT would be #amazing!! I think alot of us who are in the market for pickup truck plows would really enjoy and benefit from it!! Keep up the great videos!!

I own a snowex 8611. I love the size and versatility but I would say the only down sides to it for what I do is 1. How little tolerance there is when hooking up to the plow. I take my plow off often and am getting more comfortable with it but at first it seemed like you had to be perfectly centered with it in order for the frame to raise and connect perfectly especially compared to a western ultra mount. Super nice not having to walk to the other side of the plow though! 😆
    2. The moldboard curls forward more than a western wideout (and fisher wideout I would assume) which doesn’t allow you to “throw” the snow as well when doing roadways. Not bad if you mostly do parking lots but I do a lot of roadways in small townhouse and condo complexes so I would like to keep the roads opened up easier (as I’m sure the Mvp3 and new style wideouts with the flared wings are good for). Sometimes I feel that the snow falls back into the road if you aren’t going fast enough.
    Thanks for the great footage!

Everblade's heated wiper blades are no joke!! Ran them for the past 4 years and so far I swear by them for plow vehicles. Great build quality and super easy to install.
Snowdogg plow marker lights: pretty kool idea, I have never seen this but I am sure in practice these are not only helpful to pedestrians but also to the plow operator in low visibility situation, such as whiteout. Snowdogg plows are decent but my picks are Fisher (#1) and then Boss (#2). I ran a Snowdogg 6'-8" on my old truck and even tho that plow did soo much for me, at the same time, I had endless electronics issues with that plow.
I would like to hear some more information on those new Intensifire LED plow lights from Fisher, those lights look awesome! Would love to see how that stack up against the Boss lights. Also, I am curious if you can retrofit those lights onto older models, cause I would love to upgrade my plow lights on my Fisher to those if it was possible and not too expensive.

I watched your snow plow videos. It seem like with all the snow you had this last winter, you could've used a tele handler forklift with a bucket attachment to really stack the snow or a blower attachment for the skid steer/ loader to blow the snow further back and higher so you don't run out of space as fast.

I work for the company that uses the switch n go system at the show. I can’t really comment on how well the spreader works but the real payoff comes in the summer where we’re able to switch between dump and pruning beds. It makes hauling and loading equipment in the summer possible without needing extra equipment. I believe any truck that gets this system needs a custom frame built for the system, I believe it’s part of the price. But you can save some $$$ if you can weld them yourself. we got one to see how it worked, then our mechanics copied it for the other trucks.

I've seen the way they move Brian. Super fast for quick removal. Nothing yet on the snowblower. Its going to take a lot of HP to move snow at a good pace.Looks to me like the impeller discharge orifice may be a bit small to handle snow at higher speeds. Perhaps a larger mod may be the answer. I guess we will see on that. Its always better to get it right the first time. One last thing. The snowblower will have a lot of "in your face" snow issues. I'm not sure if there is a cab solution for that model, but I guarantee you snow in the face will make the job miserable.

I really like the tires on the STEINER 450, what a grip!
I change wiper blades this fall and spring even though they have not been bad.
By the way, do you use "OnSpot" on your trucks?

those marker lights are a good concept but when they break off id imagine its alot more expensive to replace .

its nice that you show the box blade,,but you didnt show or talk about the metal-pless one if it was there anyway.
But in some videos they try both and metal-pless wins because it can be directionnal not the box blade but otherwise both do very similar work.

we have Arctic's and another contractor here has Metal Pleiss, the fancy ones. Speaking with the operators, they hated them. Lots of blade chatter in colder temps and hard pack snow. Personally never used one.

We have one of those walk behind brooms with the plow. Ours is a snow ex but looks exactly the same and has the same honda engine.Works awesome for sidewalks. We also use it a ton in spring, summer and fall we take the blade off and use it for cleaning up dirt on walkways driveways etc.
