it's actually such a solid fact that literally every groups worst era is their best (most popular) song. due to the popularity of the songs a lot ot toxic people get to know the song which causes a lot of wrong rumour. all this, garam, soojin etc. rumors pop out in their one of the most popular era's which is sad. because idols should be enjoying their popularity not deal with rumours. ALSO; I LOVED THE VIDEO 💖

also i will share my choices/thoughts with you!!
    *le sserafim*
best: unforgiven - let's be honest, everything what they do looks absolutely flawless and they completely outdid themselves during this era: the title track will never get old (it literally sounds so good to this day), the whole album is definitely one of my most favorite k-pop full length albums ever, like, i loved the b-sides so much (epatbw will always be my #1 b-side from the girls, i mean i LOST IT and started voguing around the living room when the intro and that 'i'm a mess mess mess' came on when i was listening to the song for the first time), the promotions on music shows were so fun in my opinion (the stage sets for unforgiven, the energy when they were performing no-return and the way they demolished every epatbw stage, all of this was just INSANE) and the best thing is that the era began only one day before the 1st anniversary of their debut which felt so special to me as a pre-debut fearnot.
worst: antifragile - when it comes to the title track/song itself, i have nothing against it since it is one of my most favorite first k-pop comebacks after debut, however as for other things... you know... the album felt completely different in a comparison to their debut imo and the promotions on music shows were unproper and that's understandable since they were first delayed because of chaewon and yunjin's situation and then because of the itaewon tragedy, the girls had a very tough competition on music shows since "nxde" by (g)i-dle was released the same day as "antifragile" (and we all know that (g)i-dle easily became the digital monsters since tomboy era). HOWEVER, the things that made the era look better were the follow-up promotions with "impurities", all of the girls' appearances at major music award shows, them finally releasing their lightstick and having their first fanmeeting in march.
    *twice*
best: likey, their whole 2018 run, more & more - 1. when it comes to likey, the era was absolutely amazing musically (likey is one of my top title tracks from twice, trust me, the same goes for 'twicetagram' which is one of my most favorite albums by them), we've got a lot of appearances on variety shows and award shows, i loved how some of the members were the special mcs on some of the m countdown episodes, and YES, this is the same era that gave us twice's iconic yet only repackage album that they have to this day and the iconic stage of "likey" where the members had their parts changed.
    2. as for their 2018 run, it has to be one of twice's best periods of their whole activity as a group. all of their title tracks that were released that year went completely viral, the what is love era is definitely their best one when it comes to the concept and their chaoticness on variety shows, i feel like everyone was in their prime during the dtna era (especially jihyo, she looked so happy while performing) and yes or yes gave us one of the most memorable storylines in k-pop if we're talking ab the m/v for the song, the stage sets were top notch and the girls gained even more daesangs after the promotions (especially when they won the soty awards for what is love at mamas).
    3. what about more & more? it another best era of twice when it comes to the stage sets, the visuals and the concept photos. the mini sounded so good overall and title track which some say that it is their worst isn't their worst at all, it's absolutely cheerful and fun and i will never understand why people say that it isn't good.
worst: fancy & set me free.
    1. don't get me wrong, if we're talking about the title tracks alone, fancy is one out of many of their songs that i'd consider the best in their discography and also 'fancy you' is clearly one of my most favorite minis from twice because it sounds just PERFECT, but when it comes to the rest of things, it wasn't that good - like literally, i'm sure that the saddest situations that happened in this era were the def the "controversy" over jihyo and kang daniel's relationship and sana being completely bashed by k-netizens by mentioning the transition from the heisei to the reiwa era in japan on instagram.
    2. i feel like the set me free era wasn't amusing at all to some - although the title track and the album weren't that bad, i think it's understandable some people weren't satisfied since the the majority of people knows that twice are the best when it comes to the brigther concepts and they've literally won the whole world by releasing the songs that have this kind of concept. also it was another era that continued the decline in twice's music show wins and don't get me started about k-onces boycotting the girls because they were promoting the comeback much more in the us than in the south korea. also it's sad how the promotions on the music shows lasted only one weekend :(
    (MORE IN THE RESPONDS!!!!!)

      @shumiiiikr  ปีที่แล้ว +3

i think now people doesn't care too much as they used to. i mean, their music doesn't sound like before, it stills being good don't get me wrong! but, it stills being a bit sad and also with the chaeyoung controversy 😭😭

      *itzy*
best: the whole it'z trilogy - i mean, this trilogy is one of the best ones in k-pop. it gave us the title tracks everyone and their mother know by heart and can sing word for word, the promotions were definitely proper, from their success that itzy has gained in less than a year you could safely say that they are def the 4th gen leaders, sometimes the girls were going completely viral for the things they were doing, especially ryujin for her shoulder dance in wannabe and also, this trilogy gave us some of the classic itzy b-sides, seriously (I LOVE YOU IT'Z ME!). (the loco era deserves its honorable mention too!)
worst: sneakers - although sk ate this song up, the rest of the world wasn't here for it and it's understandable - tricking us with a completely different concept than what we expected, this era started the period of itzy getting less music show wins and i'm sure there is more to say why this era doesn't belong to the best ones of itzy. thank god "cheshire" ended this mess that we had to go through.
      *newjeans*
best: debut - i mean, no one, NO ONE has expected that they will become one of the most loved mid/late 4th gen girl groups in history. and i think we know easily what are the reasons: the songs (discussions ab cookie: NOT ALLOWED!) (their bright sound is just incredible), the overall concept that shook the whole industry (SHAKING THE INDUSTRY MAKING IT ICONIC! ig) and the whole country too, the musical direction, the music videos, the storylines, everything felt so unique, honestly. if it wasn't for that sudden release of the "attention" m/v which i think 99% didn't know about (except the people who actually followed the ador socials or smth) these young but talented girls would not start a literal revolution in the industry and make it colorful again.
worst: if you thought i'll put omg or the get up (super shy/cwy/eta) era here then you're WRONG haha
      *(g)i-dle*
best: oh my god, hwaa, queencard - as for oh my god, this was my first (g)i-dle comeback and in terms of concepts this one takes the cake for sure. i mean, the m/v was absolutely cinematic and i'm telling you, the m/v teaser can give you chills. i also loved the styling and the stage sets so much + luv u and maybe are top b-sides from the girls, so it was so good. it's pretty similar with hwaa: the tradistional concept has to be the most unique concept the girls have done and everything honestly worked: the title track is easy and fun to listen to, it is another piece of something that (g)i-dle did that can give you chills too, 'i burn' is honestly an amazing album which makes me say that i'm not surprised that it is one of my favorite ones from the girls and the stage outfits have won my heart. and look, that was the last good era of (g)i-dle IN MY OPINION. after that, queencard came and it became one of their best eras since then: the title track has shown a lot of improvement after some people were not satisfied with tomboy or nxde that much, the grunge-style instrumental makes queencard sound just amazing and the storyline amazes me tho. also queencard era gave us some of (g)i-dle's ideal b-sides since 'i burn', ESPECIALLY paradise, the coolest stage outfits ever (some of them screamed y2k style so much), creative stage sets and a ton of music show wins. also, the virality of this song is just unstoppable.
worst: nxde - I AM VERY VERY SORRY, but this era wasn't just for me though :( i remember people were bashing on soyeon for taking the half of the line distribution and the way she sounded in the song, the slight fanwars between nevies and fearnots on whose comeback is more popular were too insane and the promotions didn't end properly (it's understandable though if you've been following the news at that time). BUT LOOK, i have nothing against nxde and 'i love'. although i have a love-hate relationship with nxde, it's meaning is absolutely special and important, while "dark", "love" and "reset" are my top 3 fav b-sides from the mini.
      *chungha*
best: rollercoaster, gotta go, snapping, play - chungha was LITERALLY in her prime during these eras, the title tracks that she released at that time are literally her most known ones to this day and look, they will never EVER GET OLD, like the chungha syndrome was absolutely real in this period, she would always show a lot of great stage performances on music or award shows, give us the memorable looks and outfits and make sure that the themes and concepts are aesthetically great in every aspect.
worst: bicycle - i feel like this was the UNFORTUNATE beginning of chungha losing the hype she used to have between 2018 and mid/late fall 2020 and the reaction of the people to the title track itself wasn't that great as i remember. also multiple album delays and her getting c-19 just before the release is what i'm sure made the era be not that good. (honorable mention: sparkling - as for the title track, it sounds absolutely pretty, but that was the era in which i think everyone forgot about the fact that chungha is releasing music and that was the saddest thing for me tho)
      *exo*
      best: monster, ko ko bop
worst: overdose - oh, don't get me started on this because there's a lot to talk about this era. except the title track itself and the classic b-sides on the album, it's clear that the things that made this era look worse was when luhan and kris were already preparing to make their departure from exo by filing their lawsuits to terminate their contracts with sm entertainment due to how they bad they were treated by sm. the rest had to go through this a lot - i mean, it was sad when junmyeon was the only member who came to receive the m countdown trophy they won for overdose one week after it was released.
(it's pretty late right now when i'm writing this so there are more of my choices but without explainations)
      *aespa*
      best: savage, spicy
      worst: girls
      *red velvet*

      worst: birthday

best: dkdk, love bomb, feel good, we go
      worst: #menow
      *sunmi*
      best: gashina, heroine, siren, pporappippam
      worst: lalalay

i don't want to sound offensive at all but if we're discussing which era was the best and the worst for every group i feel like choosing the better and the worse era from a perspective on how the song sounds is not enough, we also have to notice how the promotions looked like, if there weren't any controversies, how the whole album sounded, how cool the stage outfits were, etc.
(also a small correction, the soojin scandal happened after the hwaa promotions, not in the oh my god era)
