Stam Audio has really figured out their thing. I'm impressed by every piece of gear of theirs I own. I know folks have issues with the wait time but once the item is received, its a staple and statement piece in the setup.
This is a nice sounding mic!!! Josh said he blended the U87 and C800g sound with this one and I definitely hear it. Crispy top end of the 800g, midrange of the U87, and definitely sounds more saturated than other tube mics you have had on your channel imo. Great video as always man!
Appreciate you bro for always supporting. I feel the SA-87T gives similar top end like the current ai u87s. I’ve got some experience at a studio back in my home town that has a couple vintage u87s. It’s not as rolled off on the top as that but it isn’t super prevalent up top like cheap condensers.

Not a fan of that 1073 in the vox over the 610. Especially when the voice was pushing more air, the 610 was beautiful and open while the 1073 really clamped down on the upper midd. Thank you
I'm typically always reaching for 1073 style pre's on Vox because I've heard it work more times than not. But this is one of the "not" times and I wholeheartedly agree with you. Sometimes that style of saturation gets too congested on some sources and with certain performances. I think the tempo of this song didn't help either. I felt something resonant in the vocals with the HA73 (loud part), but with the 610 it's gone. Maybe the signal was too hot in that part? What do you think?
I think that is the style of saturation you get with 1073 style preamps. Almost fuzzy in nature or gritty. I know none of the examples clipped the daw in a negative way.
Had my eye on this mic for weeks. 🤫 don't be so loud about it. Don't need this mic being sold out and taking a year to be delivered. 😂 It sounds good on your U610. I want to hear this on a BAE 1073.
@@j-perezmusic Yoo! I would say the sa87T is a much fuller mic tonally in comparison to the wa8000. The low mids and honestly the upper lows are more prevalent on the SA87T. If that’s what you need, I’d go for that 1
I think it’s a totally different vibe but the top end on both are solid to me. Not overly fried/too crispy. Both take processing well and they both are well built. I’d recommend buying both

By adding a tube they’ve created something unique and special.
