Peter Capaldi gives this classic vibe that I can't resist, definitely my Doctor. If 10 was the hero and 11 was the mad man, then 12 is The Rockstar. I love it. And while series 8 was a bit off, series 9 was tremendously amazing, and series 10 left me waiting for more. I don't know what I'm gonna do when he's not in the role any more.

Would have loved to have seen him in 1 season with Chibnell before Jodie Whitaker comes in. But I suppose its right to have a new actor and writer start together.
You know Eccleston and Tennant you kind of grasped onto quickly as the Doctor and made them yours just as fast but Smith and Capaldi took their own time to grow on you and now that Capaldi has grown on me, I'm so not ready to say goodbye
I've always found it interesting when actors from the UK talk about how demanding producing 6 to 12 episodes of a series a year can be. Here in the US, broadcast TV produces between 13 and 26 episodes of a show per year. In the 1950s we produced up to 40 episodes a year.
The thing is, they spend a lot more time shooting each episode. 12 episodes in 10 months of shooting means that it's taking a little over three weeks to film each episode. And all TV used to be done the way American TV was in the 50s. Most of the earliest seasons of Who had 40+ episodes per season.
David will always be my favorite doctor, and every time a new actor comes to play the doctor I don't like, but then at the end I love all of them and when I'm used to a doctor he just leaves😢
He was a great Doctor, although I think he was somewhat hamstrung by Moffat. I'd have love to have seen him under a different producer. Still, I'm thankfully for 3 years.
really? season 10 was quite boring imo, he had amazing episodes in 8 and 9 like listen, heaven sent and the underwater one with the bethoven intro. He also has the best caracter arc of all the modern doctors and none of those episodes finish with a deus ex-machina moment.
At first I didn't like him as I watched the regeneration episode and it was alright and then the next two after. I thought I didn't like him until I rewatched Dr. Who and realized how bad the writing is sometimes. Steven Mophat has done some good work but he has done a lot of bad work too. Peter is a excellent actor and he is the only reason Dr. Who survived the past 3 years. I hope the new writer does well. I also hope that's the outfit for the female doctor is not going to have bad writing or the revealed outfit. I'm hoping for the best with doctor who.

I always feel really really disappointed, and am definitely skeptical about the next one that's supposed to come along - it usually starts out with a bit of animosity with a new Doctor, but I always end up falling in love with them either way! 😊 At first I was really against Peter Capaldi being a Doctor, but hey, now I don't wanna see him leave; all the different actors and their different portrayals will forever keep you on your toes, and I think that is what makes Doctor Who so amazing! 😜

I didn't watch season 9, season 8 really put me off doctor who, I was disinterested mid Matt Smith run which may have contributed my attitude to season 8. I'll watch season 10 and figured I'd start watching some of the older stuff, after all your not a real doctor who fan if you haven't seen them all!
I think Series 10 might have been Peter's strongest series overall. 9 was pretty good overall, save for a few blunders, but 10 kept up a pretty good record. There weren't any episodes that I hated in Series 10, the same can't be said for the two series/seasons before it.
Sounds like (and tell me if I'm wrong) that the Twelfth Doctor dies at the end of Season 10 but he comes back somehow in the Christmas special. I think, at that point, he'll playing some part in the new doctor's introduction.
Peter was a consummate professional who did the very best with the garbage he was given. Was so happy when moffat left as showrunner. I actually started to enjoy the show again.
