I think the greatest innovation here is the laser/line that shows you where you teammates are looking/covering.
Which is funny because tac shooters have had that feature in spectator view for a long time.
First thing everyone disables when they start playing the game lmao. There's a reason why other games haven't implemented it.
@@Megis4Lifemight not look cool but it's so helpful
@@Megis4Life Wdym its super useful.

''I can't see anything!?! I'm in, I'm in soup??'' lol love it.
Going to be my new call out for that

Will is a funny guy. I'd love to see him in more of Jack's videos.
@@bf5175 i wonder how they met? He seems a great dude
It’s always great to see games trying to new things or improve on old formulas
Yes…that’s what a new game typically entails lol
It’s just Valorant
this seems like sarcasm. seeing how this game looks just like every other game. aesthetically alone I don’t have any interest in this game. and as a genre, it’s played out.
@@Youngmuniii I genuinely like what’s been shown and I enjoy the cel shaded art style with how smooth some of the animations are, I think it’s just that the game isn’t for you
@@Simonb1471 I honestly didn’t like Valorant that much so I’m just looking for an alternative and this seems like a good one with a nice twist to the gameplay
that animation for when a player is flashed is really cool! doesn't give me a fkn headache at all, very effective in obscuring the players vision, and kinda realistic with that one splotch in the middle sticking around longer than the peripheries of your vision. like that tiny part of your retina where the light of the flash made direct contact is still buzzing with photonic overstimulation. great work on that one tiny detail, love it.
@@ninjaGrim1 that's good but they severely went too far on the 3rd person flashed effect. The one you see on enemies you have flashed. It's way too excessive at long ranges and obscures their head, partly negating some of the advantage you gained in the first place.
@@TheTechDwellersorry if I dont hold my head up for you to blow off my shoulders when MY EYES ARE BEING F****D 😂
That plus how "realistic" the gun sounds are in like a tunnel or a spot where it can echo. they made an extra recording for how gun sounds in like a tunnel and used that and not some simple echo-effect
This game may not be different enough to impress people by watching, but just wait til you play it. Duality in a tactical shooter is a great mechanic
No it isn’t. It’s a gimmick that won’t last past the honeymoon period
@@cococock2418 aha you know the future then :D it is a gimmick, absolutely, you can consider BR a gimmick too, same with respawns in BR's, and a million other things. it will die, but it will be a great time until it does
@@OmegaTooYewlaugh all you want but the game is already dead on arrival lmfao
Mixture of poor marketing and lack of reinvention for a tac shooter
Ye let’s release specter divide when there’s deadlock, soace marine 2, WOW TWW release+season start, dota and league tournaments. Genius idea shroud
@@georgewashington7982 your understanding of the situation is disappointing to say the least. #1 it was not shrouds idea to push for this release window, it was Mountaintops. they never expected this game to be a valorant killer or something like that, to think it is dead because it is only at 20k daily players is nonsensical. have you followed any other indie projects ? this is a success by far minus launch day. this is not a competition to choose X game or another, games coexist in the space and many players, idk if u knew this, play multiple games.
@@georgewashington7982who hurt you
The art style is wonderful
Makes me think of what Borderlands would evolve into.
Agreed. Reminds me of Rollerdrome.
it's like borderlands the fps game
@@jgsource552 Never heard of it...
The aesthetic reminds me of this one Ghost in the Shell FPS I played about 10 or so years ago, and yet this somehow looks more anime than that game.

Na, he shouldn’t have left the house

@sib1212 how is prangent form?
Fun fact, on the planning phase you can left click on the map to move your main character and right click to move the spectre.
This game is actually pretty fun and unique. It's nice to see some innovation in the genre
agreed, looks fun to play!
@Ins_FPS I guess you just don't like slower paced games then.
@@phoenixmarktwohe just likes good games I guess :/
@@phoenixmarktwoI’m sorta similar. I wish I was different but I only enjoy fun games
@muke392 there are other games out there fortunately.
I thought this was a poor man's Valorant when I first saw it but it's actually not bad. It's way more casual than something like CS is because it doesn't require pixel perfect aiming. And the dual character concept means there's actually tactical options you can pull off, even if you're not good at aiming what so ever.
I doubt we'll be here 20+ years later talking about Spectre Divided like we do with CS. But it's still a very good time and something a little different. Kudos to the devs for that.
It only feels more casual cause you have low mmr and no ranked mode yet. I've been dropping 30 bombs all beta long and now starting to get some decent enemies who fight back a little.
@@Megis4Life That might be true to some extent, but comparing low skill CS for example, to low skill Spectre Divided - I would still say it's more casual. Even at a low level of CS you still need to be aware of spray patterns, economy, and playing with the team is required at all times. In this though, there are no spray patterns to learn, econ takes care of itself (essentially) and playing alone is viable since you can be in two places at the same time.
I'm not saying it's without depth, but it's certainly more "approachable" than CS or Valorant.
Every single gun has a learnable recoil pattern, lol. For every gun, it is the same pattern every time @Cimlite
@@NinjaWaffle14The1st Every gun has a recoil pattern, but learnable? There's a lot more random variance in SD's patterns compared to something like CS. It's not a negative thing, but it does lean more towards the casual because of choices like that. The depth, imo, comes more from the placement and use of the Spectres than the shooting.
One bad player means you're basically fighting a 4v6. This game will only be playable with friends or ranked
Genuinely something unique here with the two bodies, once it clicks in your brain its so good
Jack, you can left-click to move 1 spectre via the map, and right-click to move the other via map
19:45
@@yvesklay7929 thanks mate. But point was that Jack didn't use the right click function to move his other spectre as it was still in spawn. Just wanted to make sure he was aware of it 😊 can't wait to play this game for myself!
i was wondering why i can only move 1 spectre everytime i clicked on the map. thanks for the tip
3v3 in a highly competitive cs like game sounds like a receipt for much more frustrating experience when it goes public and you have to team up with radnoms.
Here every player have much more impact since you have less players overall. You have a god player and he is going to dominate, you get a bot in your team and he pulls you down.. I feel like the toxic experience of soloq will be amplified when there are less players in a match
Another way to think of it is that it's easier to play with 2 of your friends rather than 4. You have much more control of whether or not you play with Randoms
Yes just look at how frustrating it was playing The Finals
This was my experience last night. Godly players sre tough. You have to deal with them twice!
You make up two thirds of ur team with just one friend. How is that more frustrating than 3 randoms with one friend…
so should it be a 5v5 then? Wouldn't that be too chaotic with having pretty much 10 players on the map.
Absofruitly amazing art style. Colors are fantastic!
the graphic is sooooo nice ! give me some "Jet set radio future" vibes. love it
Really nice art style, I might eventually give it a go... Hope it gets a good soundtrack too, it looks like that kind of game.
mate it looks exactly like valorant
You must still be in kindergarten 😆
Reminds me of Borderlands
So far the gun play look so fucking smooth
The triggered Valorant and CS fans in the comments are making my day. I love the passive aggressive concern trolling.
this game is a lazy ripoff, that lacks every single element compared to its origin games. its destined to fail
I don't play neither, but you can clearly see they took "inspiration" from valorant maps and guns. This is basically valorant, with weird shell shaded characters that can throw a copy of themselves and switch between the real and the copy.
Ye people are upset aren’t they 😂
@@Mentalex0 lol. Keep being you man. I love these comments.
@@Mentalex0the corporations ain't gonna blow you lil bro
It’s a common occurrence for new games, movies, or music to be compared to existing ones. For example, some people referred to 'Valorant' as a 'CS:GO clone' when it was released, and now there are similar comparisons being made with newer games. This tendency to label new releases as clones of previous ones is a natural part of how people process and discuss new media. It’s important to recognize that while influences and similarities exist, each new creation brings its own unique elements and innovations.
Watching 2 minutes of anything Valorant and not seeing how it's obviously a CS-alike but with overwatch ults means you aren't really paying attention imo. The general sentiment of what you said is obviously true, we should judge things based on their own merit, but most games are extremely obvious in terms of lifting gameplay. Best positive example is how Helldivers in HD2 move just like MGSV. They saw what works, saw that nobody else is making 3rd person games that control in this obviously superior way, and put it in their game.
chatgpt ah comment
@@xeltr0x sorry yall i autistically lost the plot in the middle of my own comment, a point I wanted to make is that we don’t now see Valorant as some harbinger of a new genre or something, it’s still a CS clone with ults in 2024.
Least AI commenter
Exactly people who have that mind set could say that all modern fps games are just clones and ripoffs of original doom and wolfenstein. It makes no sense to compare games of the same genre because any game that comes after another game could make the claim of clone or ripoff.
The cell shaded art style is so fucking clean
I have been loving the game. I am looking forward to more maps and new sponsors.
Thanks for showing us this. Got me another game to look forward to. I like they used Shroud for input
I lived long enough to see Jack teabagging someone. I can now go in peace.
This would’ve been really nice on mobile. The art style and color palette looks really fitting for mobile screens.
Borderland Valorant
Was thinking the exact same lol
Valorant - Borderlands DLC
@@plushpc5992 the UI is almost identical to valorant's

Even the clone ability reminds me of Zane's digi clone from Borderlands 3
The fact that it's a small-scale tactical shooter that you can actually SHOOT the bullets where you're AIMING makes this 100% viable. I was so tired of aiming at an imaginary reticle with CS games. Hope this is fun
sounds like a skill issue
@@clownfishxd4523 May be true but still valid tho. A game where the guns are super reliable so that win or lose is more reliant on player's aim skill does sound appealing in comparison to a game where a gun can punish you for using it wrong.
@@vikocho123 You should be punished for using a gun wrong. What is your point?
@@clownfishxd4523 True, but you're only mentioning half of my argument. I said *in a comparison*.
A game where the weapon systems are so reliable and predictable that "using it wrong" amounts to excessive and inexcusable mechanical and tactical errors will be more appealing compared to a game where a weapon's 1st shot accuracy is not even guaranteed.
@@vikocho123 ``in comparison to a game where a gun can punish you for using it wrong.`` I just dont see how this argument makes any sense whatsoever. U smoking smth?
Love this take on the tac shooter. There are more and more coming out and this seems like a nice spin on the genre.
My wife and I have been LOVING this game.
looks clean....minimum visual clutter too
Game VISUALS looks INSANELY appealing, literally the prettiest game ever seen
Battlefield 2042’s Rush XL on the map Exposure should be its own game mode. It’s great and Orbital is pretty fun too. 128 players rush with helicopters and support vehicles on both sides, helicopters are deadly first couple objectives but ground vehicles and infantry dominate the final objectives in the tunnel and cliff side base. First time in a while that I’ve had fun playing 2042.
"I've got a deagle" -Jack, while holding a revolver
Thought your gun-IQ was better than that, Jack sheeeeesh.
sounds like an ability one character has, not a whole game concept
I like this game a lot. Played like 4 hours yesterday. Very unique and challenging
Bless you, can really hear how bad your voice feels. Hope you're getting much needed rest.
Great game! 25 hours in still having a ton of fun and learning new things to do with different sponsors! Vectors is by far my favorite currently. That fire rate boost and wall ability are amazing for all kinds of situations! Give it a go man!
How did you get your copy?
@@ExtraordinaryJamjoin the waitlist on their website. I got invited and have put in just as many hours
Ive now played this decently for two days. I was a bit cold on day one it at first but man, once you stop just using it as just a second life this game just opens up so much. I am hooked
Once you get your head around the core mechanics, this game is sooo fun. Hope it really takes off on official release.
Thanks for the video Jack. ❤
This game actually looks so sick. Long time CS player here, if the gun fights are rewarding im def playing this too 🔥🔥🔥
These are the CLEANEST fucking sights i've seen in a while.
0:13 jack every month
I get what u say,
But in his defence, a lot of new games try new and innovative ideas in hopes of catching attention or getting into the mainstream, but not every new innovation or gimmick is fun or good
In the case of spectre devide i think they're onto something
What is it that is innovative? You have an extra life. The fact that investment goes into games like this shows why the industry in the west is stale.
theres a few other ways to use your spectre with abilities as well. to those curious, you dont only throw your puck around.
Wow, Jack with attitude! Love it.
i like it when things expose themselves to me
Possibility of 16 rounds is pretty cool
We love this combo of video gamers
Looking forward to seeing more of this!
Teams that don’t comm effectively will get wasted. Therefore playing w friends is going to be a must. Clearly gonna be a bit too sweaty for my preference.
at least there is actually Aim down sights and you dont have to shoot at the feet for the bullets to hit the head.
Skill issue
Skill issue
@@TalonzorYep, it's a skill issue, you two are correct. However, it's one that gives CS such a steep learning curve that anyone who doesn't enjoy the gunplay right away will bounce right off of it.
its literally bad mechanics. There is no visual recoil.
@@WrathChild-NZ There... there is. They added that. That is very much a thing now in CS2.
neat concept. Emulating counterstrike with it is a bit weird though. Figured something like this would be more suited for a momentum shooter.
The art style alone is enough for me to want to try the full release… gg
Love seeing the teamwork and communication. Seems like it's going to be mandatory with this game.
Some maps need more variety in colors. Its easy to get lost when switching and each wall is darkish blue again
I will watch Jack play anything CS-like for the rest of time. You see glimpses of his old mastery of how these genre flow.
I just wish the specter would look more like a specter and have seperate (ghost-like) abilities than your main. Maybe give him a blueish theme too for aesthetic.
basically a CS but with aiming support. i like it.
4:06 neebs gaming meme
Glad I'm not the only one that got that :)
sponsored impressions, cool
Well, this game is certainly has a interesting Gimmick I'll say that much. Like its 3v3 but you all have 2 different Characters you control. Also interesting that your teammates have a Laser Line coming out of their Skulls to tell you WHERE they are looking.
Also thats a neat "flashbang" effect, looks like someone covered your screen in.... Lube or Oil or something? Certainly better then a Blinding Flash to White.
Remember how Splitgate was Halo but with a 'twist' that was just a gimmick that complicated the game and pushed away most players? That's what this game is doing but for CS. It looks cool but I'd hate to play it.
the gunplay is amazing
Love the art style with the hint onto bl3
“They brought in shroud” okay so it’ll be bad
I like the graphics. Have always liked this graphical style. I am not into the double life thing.
Id say Rainbow 6 Siege did and has done a magnificent job of taking what essentially is the foundation of CSGO's "gameplay formula" tweaked it to their Vision and made what became over the years (bouncing back ten fold, after a very rough initial launch) one of this generations best "Tactical shooter's"/ "Mil-Sim".
Diff game, looks nice in this type of shooter game
I'm kinda liking the idea of this game. 3v3 but really 6v6, kinda smart, just have to see how people would play this game seriously.
I actually really enjoyed this game. Pretty innovative for this genre as well
I wish someone would make a really cool 3rd person shooter. Every game now a days is first person looter shooter, craft this, craft that.
plan on trying this...the art style reminded me of Sable and the gameplay screamed Valorant...but will try it out since its Free
Love Jack, but sometimes I wish he'd spent a little more time playing the game to fully understand/learn all the mechanics before making a video, even if it is sponsored. I think that's why I enjoy Tomographic videos so much - He usually puts a fair amount of time into a game BEFORE presenting it to really show more aspects/a bigger understanding of a game. Simple aspects/core mechanics of the game aren't fully understood because not enough time has even gone into learning the game. Like Pre-placing your Spectre (second character) with right click on the map to cover 2 zones/angles at once instead of running, throwing the puck, then only placing the first guy. Learning the game WITH Jack can be fun sometimes, but feel like every video of a new game he plays is "I've played one round of this, I have a light grasp. Here's my video".
Sorry if this has felt like a rant - and I'm sure he's a busy guy - but just my perspective! Still love Jack!
Its killing me how many people are leaving reviews like "bad, toxic, buggy as hell" and they only have like 0.7 hours
Hey Jack I was wondering what do you use to record and when you do record do you do it in sessions or do you have something that records the last couple of minutes of a game? I'm currently using OBS to record my gameplay and premiere to edit
Finally an original, fun looking game
people keep sayin its a copy of valorant when valorant doesnt have 1 original concept
Hopefully you can stream Deadlock soon!
Cant wait for you to cover Hunt: Showdown 1896
As much as the gameplay got my attention, hope you get well soon Jack, always happy to see your vids and updates.
It's got some vibes that remind me a bit of the Ghost In The Shell FPS game that was a flop a little while ago...
But, this seems interesting!
game looks awesome, thanks jacky boi!
Now it makes sense why Shroud has been more pro Valorant and openly disliking CS. He was prepping his viewers lol
Maybe bc of his taste?
@@Leonniclass for sure

man this spectre idea is OP

oh shroud will be happy you tried this.. arena hero shooter (=
@jackfrags casually has one of the best aim i have ever seen
What draws me in, is not having to be perfectly still to have accuracy. I HATE BLOOM (the way CSG. VALORANT do it anyway), and the fact these guys don't do it the way those games I mentioned do is HUGE. Plus there's truly unique game play elements. Looks super fun!
Gamepaly looks sick. Just got the beta access to the game, but my gpu died 2 days ago XD
Bro sounds like he smoked 10 packs of embassy 😂
I think this game is a lot of fun, and it will definitely have a longer life than most are expecting. A lot of people including myself stopped playing CS after CS 2 came out and I've been looking for something else to satisfy the itch bc valorant doesnt appeal to me
Jack still has the pro level skills.
of all games that are clearly inspired by another, this looks exactly like that one riot e-dating game. It's got the same damn colour palette....
The color palette is called *pastel*
Yes, I know. Thank you for assuming I don't.
hope they have controller support for pc! I think all modern pc games should have controller and mnk support!
AI Jack is crazy
So shroud is just an adviser on the game. He's been acting like it's his game that he made with a dev team like it's his creation.
Not really, why make stuff up?
Idk what advisor means, but I heared him saying in a video he is involved for over a year or so?
Playing the game and giving feedback. Is that an advisor? o,o
No clue how much of the games current state is partial his idea.
He said in a stream I watched a few days ago he knows the game a year from now but not further. I guess no plans set in stone for that.
Yeah I thought he said something about being excited to make a game or something, but I can’t remember
Feels like yet another Siege/Valorant where in a year every 7 year old will be a sweat and there will be a barrage of colors and abilities on screen
Specter is so fun I rly loved it
I love the "cartoon" look but the SPectre thing is a bit confusing.
Jack will you play hunt showdown 1986? I think you will love it and I always love your hunt video's🙏
