That 50 cent bucket video is an all time great form of entertainment
Only 7 players have won 2 fmvps and only 5 players have 3. If kawhi wins one more this season I think that solidifies him at around 20, even right now I think he is at least top 30
That's not a good way to put it,
1) 13 players have won 2+ FMVPS not 5, and Kawhi's 1st FMVP (18/6/2 on good efficiency & defense) is one of the 10 or so weakest in NBA history
2) Willis has won 2 FMVPS just like Kawhi, and also has an MVP over him as well, yet he is a fringe T50 player at best; accolades aren't everything
3) Kawhi (imo) does not have a T25-30 peak oat, which is almost required to be in the T20, especially considering his severe lack of longevity compared to other concensus T30 players of all time

Luka being underrated here. He wins multiple MVPs and titles, he's top 15. The guy already has 4 All NBA 1st teams (5th this year). KD only has 6 1st teams in his career. He'll be in the top 25 before he's 30 years old.

Luka reminds me of Oscar Robertson (one championship, one MVP) who never makes top 10 lists (except for Dr. J's) but probably should. But in 30 years there will still be a ton of footage of Luka online and not much of Russell or Robertson. So recency bias will be even stronger.

Embiid already proved himself as an all-time great. Probably top 20. He doesn't need ECF to solidify himself. I wouldn't care if he averages 15 points 5 rebounds in the playoffs. Not all all-time greats have to perform in the playoffs. Some are just regular season players.

Nah if Kawhi can get a chip and final MVP for the Clippers, he’s for sure top 20. A lot of people forget how good of a player he is in the playoffs and aren’t considering he’s one of if not possibly the greatest perimeter defender of all time at his peak. This is a guy who completely locked up prime LeBron 1 on 1. Is there a single other player who can say they’ve done that? He’d be one of only 6 players with 3 FMVP and he’d be the first player to ever have gotten 2 FMVPs for 2 different teams’ first championships ever. If he had a healthier career, he’d easily be pushing on top 10.

"Top 10" means something very different in the 2020s than it did in the 1980s. In the 2020s there are more than 10 players who deserve to be in the Top 10. Who from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s do you leave out to make space for the best players of the 2020s? Hakeem? Bird? Russell? Jordan is secure. LeBron is secure. Kareem is secure. Duncan is secure. And probably Kobe is secure. But do you rate Kobe over Shaq? Do you rate KD over Bird? Do you leave Pippen and Dr. J out of the conversation altogether.

It’s not because of the footage; it’s because Oscar’s competition was way worse. Basketball was still pretty primitive in the 60s because the NBA only started in 1949. Most people take Pre-Magic and Bird basketball with a grain of salt. People like Oscar and Wilt are still great, but they’re kind of off in their own category, making it hard to compare them to current players. It’s like, who’s better: Honus Wagner or Miguel Cabrera, Walter Johnson or Pedro Martinez?

I don't think Curry belongs in the top ten of all time because his team successes speak for themselves and if you compare him with player, who is in the top ten, he loses almost every comparison, especially those who are not team successes.
