Good to see a video from you Chris. I always enjoy your videos. Simple, clean, and from the heart. Glad to see you got the SD43 back. SD43 is my favorite Rolex of all time. If I had to choose one Rolex to keep for life it would the SD43. I wouldn’t even have to think about it.
One of the ADs I visit regularly in Virginia has lost it's dealership with Rolex. It is becoming very apparent that Rolex wants to be even more exclusive and reduce splitting profits with dealers. I missed the opportunity to get the best deal from a grey market dealer a year ago because I thought I could get a Rolex at retail. I can forget about get a watch at retail purchase, now.
Please do a video of how to then redevelop a relationship with the new AD. I live in Chicago, in Lincoln Square want to know what to do in a situation like this
It's difficult because most of these small jewelry stores that are left are family owned. They don't get much stock. The only corporate AD is CD Peacock and I know they are not getting anything at any location.
There are 7 Rolex AD's outside of Chicago, now 3 in Chicago. Ranzy Jewelers on Oak Street is around the corner and two blocks north from the main Rolex boutique. I don't think Ranzy Jewelers will keep the Rolex AD contract since it's very close to the main flagship location, and Ranzy Jewelers have 2 other locations in the suburbs. Not sure about the Rolex AD inside some old hole in the wall building on Wabash. Unless you know which building to go to. You won't see any Rolex AD sign on Wabash.
@@watchesgiggles5659 so far so good with the Highland Park location, which recently opened as the largest suburban Rolex in the midwest. Complete trek for you I'm sure unfortunately, but crazy to see everyone dropping in the city like this!

Well my AD is your AD... such a bummer. I can't imagine they hang on in that pricey neighborhood much longer selling just Tissot and Tudor. Do you know if our spend history and interests might carry over to any suburban locations?
I asked my Rolex AD and they assured me that Mark2 is also “the anniversary”. Mark2 was released for two reasons: 1- it’s unfair for the anniversary to miss on the upgraded movement 2- The bracelet of Mark1 was too thin for this chunky watch and it was a design mistake. What do you guys think 🤔?
Those omega bracelets, Idk why omega doesn’t use one solid screw that goes through the entire link instead of using those 2 tiny screws on each end. Cheaper out imo.
I would not be surprised if Rolex completely eliminate all ADs and only sell their watches at Rolex boutiques. Next up is they will sell preowned Rolex and target to eat into the grey market dealers and that will really drive the Rolex market and prices upward.
Hey! I just got back my DJ41 (2018 model) which was also suddenly running 10 to 15 seconds slow. Same 3235 movement as your SD43. Now it is within COSC and also running fast! Sad to hear about your AD... Rolex is becoming a bit of a bore unfortunately...

Thanks for the update buddy. I think Rolex might be testing the waters for going to a boutique only model of distribution. AP has been testing the waters. And FP Journe announced the same earlier this week. I just made a video on it. It makes sense for them to limit/one day eliminate ADs and go boutique only.
Bracelet looks nice. Reminds me of my Dad's 1988 DJ. Sucks about your AD, and many others. Rolex may be boutique only soon. I'll keep rockin' my Bluesy at work. This current Rolex situation, makes one appreciate it even more. It's been a fun little social experiment. She's definitely a looker, compared to the black dial SS. So far all positive feedback, at least to my face. Hahaha

I must admit - I find the boutique feels a bit snooty - I can’t quite explain it as they treat me well - but there is a different feeling. I love that you get a Rolex receipt and bag etc - but still prefer the family run business for the all round feelings!!! Take care mate
My advice is screw Rolex, the most over rated watch out there. Your 2 year old Rolex running 30 sec slow a day, GARBAGE. So many other better brands for a lot less money.
Looking more and more that Omega and Tudor will be the available luxury and Rolex, Patek, and AP will be for only the chosen few. I’ve got all the Rolexes I need, so I actually see it positively as the value retention will continue and each Rolex will be a prized possession, as they should be

Totally sucks the actions of a corrupt AD end up hurting a nice collector like yourself. Hopefully the new AD embraces you and you're still able to get the Rolex watches you want... Cheers 👊

My local Rolex location( 3 stores lost there contract) which they had for 50 yrs. I now most drive 3.5 hours to Atlanta or Birmingham. Goodbye Rolex!

Why Rolex never celebrated the anniversary of some models, like Airking for example ?!

The jeweler I use also no longer is a rolex authorized dealer..
New bracelet looks great and thanks for keeping it real, nothing beats the modern day Jubilee.
