Dang brother that target is so far away I think a flight attendant was serving drinks on the way in!! Well done as always it's a true pleasure to watch you both doing what you love!
Sam is amazing as a spotter. Even with the vision through the eye of the camera, I have trouble knowing where the point of impact is accurately. Top job, Sam.
You have plenty of time to get off a follow up before the first hits. That rig is awesome. Just might change my mind on building a 338 LM. The 300WM is less expensive and easier to acquire.
I envy your ability to set plates out so far. I have a 2hr drive in So Calif to a 1k yd place I can shoot but often get there and people have set up camp out on the range so 4-500yds off to the side is all we get. Almost not worth it because we have to have a person constantly watching for off roaders that will actually ride up to our targets to check them out or try and steal them.
Mark have you ever heard of Vibra-tite thread locker someone suggested it for scope mounting and said it was easier to remove the screws than with loctite ? I have not used it yet . Another awesome video 👍
Thanks Man, and no haven't used that, the Blue Loctite is easy to use, but, just don't use the Red on little stuff you want to be able to remove, lol, Cheers Cheers
Wow, i use a 30-06 at 800yrds but looks like i might need to try further. Great video. Where can i get info on the device you had mounted foward of the scope?
Love the video, I have a Ruger Precision Rifle and Im going after 1 mile. Im currently at 1354 yards, my next Challenge is 1500 yards then Im going for 1760. I need to make a bigger target, the one Im shooting at right now is half the size of the one you guys are shooting at lol but in the Army they taught us to aim small, miss small lol
That explains why you the man! I was thinking as I watched you shooting into tomorrow that there must be some influence on your bullet traveling so far over a long period of time? Should have known you had it factored in! Just looked up Coriolis effect and its interesting how the effect changes influence depending on direction of your shot. Always learning watching you. Thanks for the reply.
Obviously your favored position is prone (my back couldn’t handle it that long), do you ever use a bench? Or is that just one more piece of equipment you don’t need to bring? I’ve also noticed Sam has been going prone the last few vids. What happened to her stool? Lolol
WELL MATES .. ? ? ? I GOT KATHRYN WATCHING ... !!!!!!!! CHEERS .... !!!!!!! P.S. 2-25-54 I WILL BE 70 ... !!!!! PRAISE GOD, GOD BLESS YOU MATES .... !!!!!!! ....... DOUBLE G. HERE AND KATHY ... !!!!!!
I declare, every time you shoot I can hear what sounds like the bullet moving through the air towards the target. Maybe it's just some background noise.👍👍👍🙏
I believe you're hearing round coming in towards target... picked up on target camera microphone. I've heard same thing on many of Mark's videos. And Sam should teach a course in proper spotting....she's the best.
In Western Australia, even though it gets to 45° C in the day it cools down at night, was 18° C at 5.00am in the video, did that last time we where over east too, just not your house?
@@markandsamafterwork na I’m on the Gold Coast and lately it’s been hot as, we’ve also had the wettest summer iv seen in a long time. I work although WA and the Pilbara was a heat iv never experienced before. I grew up in the outback ( Coober Pedy ) and although it was really hot in summer it was a dry heat that didn’t affect you like the humidity does.
I’m running a 195gr Eld match in both my 300 win mags. Now that the ammo has become near impossible to get in back to reloading it. How do you feel about h4350 propellant?
Not something we have ever tried in a 300wm, but, we always use powder company charts to work out loads to suit ingredients, but never make online recommendations on loads, Cheers
Hey guys, great shooting and spotting. I have a quick question for you. After watching several of your videos and hearing what I thought you said was 225 MOA of elevation, What top 3 cartridges take the least amount of optic elevation on your 3km shoots? 50bmg, 416? 408? Something else?
Excellent shooting & spotting Sam... That is definitely not a SAMMI chamber if your pushing a 230gr bullet. Unless you're stuffing deep into the case. I for one, would like to hear about reamer specs / freebore, cartridge oal ect... if you wouldn't mind sharing one in a while 😁 Anyway, i really like your channel. Thanks...
With the prints freely available on the SAAMI site, the cbto of a .300 win mag is 2.7959". A 300 prc is 2.8518". The win mag is only ~.060" shorter to the lands. "Seating deep", no. There's plenty of bullet shank hanging out of either case. Hodgdon data lists both .300's with the same bullets and powders at almost identical charges and performance. Within fractions of a grain of charge and only a few fps between them. Only in a 30-06 length action is a win mag required to seat deep. In a magnum action, it can be loaded long. The new vlds have a lot of nose and relatively short shanks that get bullets up out of powder vs something like the older SMK designs, assuming you have the magazine to handle it.
Seriously mate? We just had Papalia take a heap of “very powerful rifle” cartridges off us and here we are demonstrating to him that he missed a few. I could post up photos on the internet of me with a heap of dead roos shot legally too but I don’t do that. It isn’t smart to poke the bear unless you know you can beat him in a fight. I know you have a heap of followers and are probably making something out of this financially but you aren’t going to be too popular with other West Aussie shooters if old mate comes after our .300 Win Mags next.
You are playing into the divide and conquer plan they have for us....Simple facts are, it is not about the power or the distance or anything else, it is just a made up reason to take some of the guns, they want all of them. Have not you not seen the paper they tabled during the week, 5 gun limit! and of course if that goes through how long do you recon before a 4 3 2 1 0 gun limit is demanded. WAKE UP!!!
From someone who knows zilch about precision shooting, I've learned about 0.01% of your skills watching you two experts, thank you for educating this ignorant wannabe 😀 hahaha 😂 ❤

Agreed, Cheers Dave
I like how you have enough time to load the next round before that one hits the target; the wind is your biggest enemy.
Thanks Ken
I'm afraid I would have had to call in an air strike on that one, lol,, fantastic shooting !
Lol, Cheers Paul, thanks

I wait for every video you guys put out fantastic job
Awesome, Cheers Ian
Another great clip Mark.
At that distance, Sam’s an awesome spotter mate!!👍

Wow, the dispersion on that load (along with your shooting) is great. You were peppering them into a really small group there.
Thanks Willo, yes when all stayed tight it was on the money, Cheers

Nicely done. Do you shoot East and West so that rotation of Earth doesn’t factor into windage?
Wind is the issue Brian, coriolis is a small constant, we have videos if interested, Cheers

We shoot ELR as real and as accurate as we can, so in the dirt, prone, and when windy it is a lot more stable to spot prone, Cheers
Great Vid 👍👍👍👍🎯🎯🎯🎯

this is so cool

Mark. Does it seem the 300 win mag is still more efficient than the 300 prc using the 200-220 bullets?
Too similar to call in that weight, Cheers
Amazing.

What do you think of howa 1500s? Thinking about putting one in an MDT chassis.
I have a Howa 1500 precision 26 inch barrel in an MDT Oryx chassis. A great rifle and very accurate.
We have a few like that and like them, Cheers

Is the arca rail machined into the bipod mount?
Yes, on the ACC chassis it is machined like that, Cheers
Why do your math in moa? Your scope
Looks to be in mil’s? Great shooting 👌
Nope, moa lol, Cheers
