China has agreed to “gradually resume” imports of Japanese seafood products a year after it imposed a ban in response to the release of treated waste water from the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant. The decision was made after “rounds of talks” between Beijing and Tokyo over the impact of the water into the Pacific Ocean, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on September 20, 2024.

Chinese eateries in China are hurting because they cannot import seafood from Japan which is cheaper than from other sources while the Japanese seafood industry is struggling because they cannot export to their largest customer: China, These two countries are Frienenemies 😅
