This isn't just great for seniors. This is great for college students or young adults who are often living alone for the first time, trying to learn to cook but having difficulty cooking for just one or two people, often without huge cooking skills yet, often without time to really work at it due to classes or multiple part time jobs. Good concept.

I'm living with someone who had bariatric surgery so I'm practically cooking for one now. I appreciate this video a lot!

i hadn't eaten any vegetables in a while so i bought a bloody big bag of frozen sprouts from the supermarket. I steamed them for 10 minutes and ate the lot, just the sprouts with a drink of water. They tasted good but 10 minutes after finishing i had never felt so ill in my life. i am now going back to beer and pepperoni pizza. Best wishes from England.

I love the idea about cooking a big pan of pasta and then portioning it out into smaller bags excellent idea

That's true. I tried that but after eating less than 1 bag of pasta, they all.ended up in the trash. Doing this screams poverty. Plus pasta isn't a very healthy or tasty food

I’m so grateful that I found you! I’ve been trying to adjust to cooking for one the past few years. Living on frozen and precooked foods has made cooking boring. So this is exciting! I’m thrilled that you talked about using a toaster oven for baking. That’s all I use now but I’m having a difficult time finding affordable bakeware. If anyone knows of a good source for that please let me know. This makes me eager to cook again with variety. 👩‍🍳

Instead of rotisserie chicken, buy chicken thighs (with skin and bones) slow cook them for a day. Separate chicken from liquid placing liquid in large tall container in refrigerator. Next morning remove fact from top of liquid. Replace chicken, skin and bones into slow cooker for another day of slow cooking. Remove skin and bones and place liquid in refrigerator for one more night. Next morning remove fat from top of liquid. Do not cook chicken any further. Freeze the chicken in baggies. The broth can be frozen in canning jars or whatever you use to freeze. This is not only the best tasting broth, it is also very healthy with the bone marrow.

Rotisserie chicken is full of sodium...bake or grill your own to control salt and sugar not to mention whatever else is in precooked rotisserie chicken.
