- You can get 23 different Oscillating blades, link to Amazon- amzn.to/3VBnm0p

In the video I use a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric single speed oscillating tool ($20.00). I would urge you to buy a variable speed oscillating tool, it makes control of your cuts much much better. I suggest Rockwell RK5132K 3.5AMP-this unit has variable speed and a much better blade mounting system-Amazon Link-amzn.to/39VQO8Y

*Love this **MyBest.Tools** have the original dremel oscillating tool but it's corded which is fine in many instances but this is so versatile. Must have for any tool monger like me.*
Great tool, seems like the saw blades are as as important as the oscillating tool.
It works a lot better if you lubricate the blade with a soapy water mixture. It keeps friction down which kills the blade another plus it cools the blade a bit. Works better with a reciprocating saw equipped with a fine metal cutting blade again lubricating it with soapy water.
good points
Just use a freaking sawzall
Nice idea.
Only thing I've seen work on tires is a "Modified Log Splitter" with a sharp wedge and a recessed V plate.
That would be much faster at cutting-I was surprised that the oscillating tool was able to cut the tire-but it is slow-
Gor gonzalla batman😊
Still looking for a good way to cut a tire with steel cables in them, like what we use in the U.S. We used the ocillating tool, the Makita brand. Didn't even phase the steel cable part. Next up, we tried the angle grinder from Harbor Freight. It cut a straight line, but I'm trying to make horse shoes for my draft horse. He has bad hooves and needs to wear some rubber shoes because the farrier says there isn't enough to nail onto anyways. I'm not really a fan of metal shoes, anyway and prefer DIY or self sufficient things with nonrepeating bills.
I’ve cut them up with saws all.
thanks for watching
Thanks for letting me know what not to try.😊
Let me know if there isn't anything else I won't do for you
most efficient tool ive used so far was a m18 sawzall with a pruning blade. cuts through the rubber sidewall like butter, i dont bother with the metal embedded treads.
the finer blades get gunked up/ heat the rubber too fast
sounds like a mean machine-
Thank you. Thank you thank you
your welcome-thank you for watching
very effective
great idea
Wait till he finds a Sawzall 😂

I am thinking of using this to cut lugs off a lawn tractor tire to open the treads for better traction. Should do ok no metal would be cut
It would work OK for that, I would use a little oil to keep the blade from getting any build up and smoothing the cuts.
Test a small area on the tire before diving in as I bet the tire may look rough but if you don't care about looks it should be fine.
Thanks for watching
Not bad for a harbor freight find
I have yet to find a problem with the tool. If I was to buy a replacement I would definitely go with a variable speed model.
Thanks for the comment
What's the best tool for doing that cut? I need to do 300 tyres
300 tires...Wow-the only sort of cheap way I can think of is a good size band saw with a really good blade.
Junk yards use hydraulic shears to cut tires into 1/4ers.
That sounds like a terrible job, especially if the tires are large and full of stagnant water.
Look up cutting tires with a log splitter
What the machine name
this an oscillating tool-chicago electric brand
I thought you were going to slip and groove your tire for traction
Nope, but an oscillating tool would be excellent at doing that
I used an angle grinder and that worked a lot better and faster than your method.
Nice work!
Bimetal blade all the way, just wasting your time and money with anything else.. circular saw with carbide teeth way faster though
