Thanks Allen. Tired at end of the season so getting two apps out at once is nice. Dealing with leaves and cutting grass, plants etc now. Most of the leaves are now cleaned up but I’ll do a few more clean-ups and cuts till mid December.
Did my winterizer app last weekend, got an inch of snow that melted and watered it in. Might clean up a few more leaves before the Christmas lights come out but beyond that my season has come to a close
Thanks Brian. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I'm enjoying the down time from the lawn. Always need the winter to get that lawn enthusiasm back 😀
Hello Russ … new to the channel. I recently bought a house and they laid st Augustine sod down. Do you think this is the right time to apply biochar ? How would you take care of the lawn in its dormant state ? Location is Texas …
Thanks for checking out my vids and reaching out. In my opinion and from what I've learned in the community... You can apply biochar year long. With that said, I personally don't apply during dormancy more so in case the ground is frozen (north east), don't want the product running off (money out the window). I would start apps right before your St Aug growing season kicks off. The biochar is very beneficial to soil microbes which are surely less active in cooler months. Further, the carbon in bio-char theoretically will stay in the soil for years but considering the price, I refrain from applying in winter months, for reason stated above. Good luck with the new home and have fun improving the turf!
If I did a renovation in Oct with tttf and kbg would you think ide be good to apply a preamergant product now. I was told preamergant may inhibit the spred of young kbg since my lawn is not mature but I figure it won't be doing any spreading during winter
If you seeded in October I would recommend fertilizing only. Pre Emergent can thin roots. You can do a Pre Emergent in spring to inhibit new broad leaf weeds and crab grass. If you do get winter weeds you can spot treat them in the spring with a herbicide. 👍
And that's a wrap on the 2022 season. Well done Russ. Happy Holidays 👍💚🦸
A few more cuts then shut it down. You had a great year!
Always great info thanks again brother Anderson is the way to go

Great timing on your part. Enjoy the down time your turf will sleep well.
Merry Christmas Russ

Great topic New sub here 💯💯
Thanks for the sub I did the same and will check out your content.
I am a liquid guy. I only use organics such as chicken poop, JG organic fertilizer etc
Something I’d like to try in the future. Maybe this coming year. Thanks for sharing! 👍
I would have cut the lawn and picked up the leaves before I fertilized.
Always the plan. I know I didn’t cut or do leaves again until rain or irrigation completed.
