I bought a chuck for my lathe a few years back, and it was a 1 inch 8tpi si I had to get an adapter to 1 1/4 8tpi. Ended up using it and bending my shaft on a catch. So I'm going to get a proper chuck for it soon.
Another great idea. Made some French rolling pins.. I'll see if they sell at this weekends show. Concentrating on 5 charcuterie boards I want to have done for the show, but I can probably squeeze 1 or 2 of these in. Thanks
Hello Jason… I just found your channel and liked the way you explained how you were doing the end grain! 👍🏻 I’m working on a small piece and it’s end grain and as you know it can be a little tricky to cut! That cutter turned out nice and got me to subscribe! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Jason the colour of the wood you used looks lovely and it has some nice grain in it. The biscit cutter was a awesome idea it come up really nice when you finished it well done
Thank you Amanda! It really is a fun project. The wood was black walnut harvested somewhere around Pocatello Idaho. I really like the way this one turned out.

What a great new CHRISTmas present project! I'm curious why you didn't use the Forstner bit to hog out the majority of the wood and then finish with your scraper.
Great question! I absolutely could have done it that way. Two reasons… The first is when you get to know end-grain hollowing it’s can be just as fast to just grab a gouge and go for it. It takes time to set up a forsner bit. Secondly I don’t own a forsner bit that large and didn’t want to wait to order one. I don’t have any stores here in idaho where I can run out and buy individual sizes. Absolutely try it the way you described though and I’d like to hear about how it went!

Nice! I was kinda hoping you'd show us how you make biscuits with the finished product. I know it's simple but I live outside the US in a country that doesn't eat biscuits except at KFC restaurants, and then only rarely. I actually thought you'd be talking about the biscuits used in woodworking. Have I been missing something? :>)
I actually made it myself with a piece of 1” brass rod. It’s not something I’d do again though. It took many hours and I think now I would find someone to order it from.

Quick question what size drill bit did you use for your air relief holes? It looks 1/4” ish but hard to tell. Thanks! P

I’m a not really much of baker, however I do really like eating 🍽. Hopefully I don’t have to eat the biscuits used for woodworking! 😉
