Man you do not know how much I needed these tips, my shelves look so bland at the moment. That line of action tip is incredibly helpful. Great video, Josh!

Perfect timing! I just got reverse flash and black Adam today and I love the both of these figures, these tips will definitely help me appreciate them even more.

very informative video, I'm sure this helps a lot of people. As a blind person collecting action figures, I am unfortunately unable to draw references from looking at pictures on Google. However, I have also been a martial art instructor for over 20 years, so that helps me finding poses for my figures. Incidentally, whenever action figures come with swords and scabbards, my favorite pose is still half the sword in that half in half drawn state. I find that personally speaking, when it comes to posing action figures, I usually run into three major problems. 1. Limited shelf space. The shelves are already crowded as it is, so if I start to have my action figures in dynamic poses, I would need a lot more display space to make that work. This is why a lot of times I keep them in very generic, museum poses when they are on the shelves.
    2. Limitation of articulation. Sometimes I think I have a pretty cool pose and only to be unable to put it in action because the action figure in question doesn't have the right wrist joint or lacks butterfly joint.
    3. limitations posed by outfit or armor pieces. Obviously because the garments are not made from real fabric, or at least, most of them are not, so they don't flex or get out of the way naturally when figures are in a certain pose. Just like how difficult it is to pose some Batman action figures because of the cape.

I think the most important thing to me is posing, even with transformers or model kits I feel the ability to get in a great pose can sell a toy for me. Love the video!!

What got me into your reviews at first was how cool you pose your figs, then I got into the community, great video as always!

Very helpful. It seems pretty simple, but can actually be quite a task in nailing a solid pose.

Awesome tips, Josh! I especially like the one about, "line of action." I do know this; the more you pose your figures, the better you get at it. It's like anything else.

Hey Josh, love the use of the Spawn throne! Just FYI, the piece of tape connected to it is actually removeable. It's loosely pegged in near the seat area and comes in and out quite easily.

Number 1 is learn what your subject is capable of. Test the joints and see what its limits are. Number 2. Use your body as examples using a mirror and imitate what you want to see. It will make your poses more realistic and it will also help you with the smaller details such as hand positioning. A slight turn of a wrist can make all the difference.

You could have a weekly challenge where u pick a subject/scene/character ect. You could review the poses and scenes. IDK I thought it would be a great topic.

Josh, I am telling you now this is an awesome video, and I have merely just seen the title. You have some of the most awesome poses for your figures, often resulting in me calling family members in from another room to see your poses. You're an awesome dude with an awesome channel, and I always in enjoy your content. Now back to my watching/thumbing up your video!! P.S. I think I may have overused the word awesome (I probably should have used some other synonyms), but anyways it's all awesome!!

Good stands are key, too. they help with balance you could never get with a figure out of the box. Your poses clearly illustrate this. Any recommendations there? Besides the obvious.. Figma or the few McF flight stands that are out there.

I cannot lie, I feel like mcfarlene figures are reaaallly hard to pose, especially the winged characters. Bought the dark redeemer, and I want him to look like he's about to slowly rise himself off the ground. Like an angel from legion for reference, but the mfs wings are way too freaking heavy for his body. He just will not stand on the stand he came with.
I'm trying to point his toes so that he has the illusion of movement, and I'm bending his back so that he'll be pointing upwards. The problem is that his wings pull him down, I mean drag him back to hell down lol. He PLUMMETS. Right now he's in a gladiator wave to the crowd pose, which is cool but definitely not what I want.
