One things for sure, it will definitely get addictive (not in a bad way) 💀, I remember my first neca figure was the FvJ Jason Voorhees figure, then I got all the icons of horror, (myers, ghost face, freddy), then i decided to get more! I currently have 3 packages coming in the mail, hopefully this week they'll arrive, an ultimate robocop, pinhead, and chucky.

Hey, British collector here (yes get your wa’er jokes out now) but your advice was superb, and I’ve been collecting for a while now, so hats off to you! But for my other British collectors out here, a real good site (not sure if America has this) is called comics and cocktails, sure sometimes they are waaaaay to pricy, but sometimes you can get a ultimate deal.

RoboCop was my first Neca figure. Gotten some Predator and Terminator figures since then. Regrettably, I missed out on the Colonial Marines from Aliens.
The two pack of Hicks and Hudson also showed up on Costumes.com for retail last month. An absolute must website for Aliens fans.

My collecting started with a Gundam Model kit, which I followed up with a marvel legends figure I got for $9, through the first two years I picked up some more legends and some transformers, my first neca figure however was godzilla 1954
I gotta say, having about 20 NECA figures, I have never had to warm up a figure before use, the only time I've taken a blowdryer to a neca figure was to get a head to swap, maybe I'm just really lucky on that front!

This is a good guide to Neca collecting with a dash of salt. At least your giving them the benefit of the doubt that the breaks could be because of the thick paint. But many believe the grade of plastic they use is just not that durable to begin with, and some ambitious sculpts like the gargoyles wings are under engineered.
I remember the mention of the hairdryer method first with their giant pacific rim Striker Eureka. Just to get the backpack on.
I see a lot of Neca figures at toy shows and conventions and was able to get complete animated turtles figure affordably this way loose in plastic storage bags.
Also you got to be patient if your collecting these figures. Because it feels like quite a long time between even press announcements.
Walmart will get product, and often leave it to a department manager to eventually sort out where its going to go. A stocker is just going to scan it, with no location to put it up.

You know one thing we have not heard of when people report broken figures is what time of year did it occur. Reason I ask is that I work in retail predominantly unloading trucks in the back stock room of Wal-Mart. Stock rooms are not the best climate controlled areas
Of the store.
The metal doors and shutters are not insulated , drafts are everywhere high ceiling pull any warmth away from the floor as well as any reasonable height of store's merhandise.
Also truck trailers are basically plywood and sheet metal and during the winter everything is cold.
So likely scenario is something
like this.
Neca figures are in a ice cold trailer for God knows how long , only shipped two to a box, so a small box, under five feet of boxes of baked beans that fell over. Throwed by some jerk unloading the line . Sits in cold stock room for eight to ten hours , finally stocked and bought that next day still cold from it's long journey. 10minutes later excited collector is home , put the groceries away , opens his figure and snap!
Must be neca fault.
Best solution is to let your newly purchased figure aclimitize to the indoor temperature of your house , preferably the warmest room, for a few hours maybe overnight, so the molecules of the plastic can expand and become more flexible . Also this warming process should be slow.
Dunking a cold figure in hot water could cause micro fissures to start as the sudden heating can cause a violent movement of the molecules of the plastic, imagine a faultline in the earth during an earthquake.
This is a great point to bring up. And with things being mailed directly that can sit in a cold mailbox or on a porch after already being in the cold for hours or days.

Nope! It’s a global thing. We help each other with news, info, releases, and shipping items! Haulathon.com will be the best method for all the new NECA TMNT stuff (and all the other things coming to Target starting March 3)
Being an international toy collector can be weird. We don't have a lot of the stores that often get exclusives. Sometimes, this works in our favour. Just in the last week, I've seen US collectors be unable to buy the Hasbro Black Series Yoda and Gree pack as it sold out during a one hour pre-sale for people that signed up to Hasbro's premium membership service, and then the Marvel Legends Ms Marvel figure sold out in under 3 minutes at Target. Both products can still be easily pre-ordered over here. The NECA TMNT line is a very different story however, and gets expensive.
It's very strange. And sometimes you get those Marvel Legends in well before the states
Their websites suck.
Bathe your new figures.
Avoid getting scalped.
Find local or online retailers. Personally, I use BBTS, Amok Time, Amazon, Entertainment Earth, or check comic shops and places like Walmart or Target.
Figures take forever to release in stores, and Target never has much. Order online as much as possible, or you're going to waste a lot of gas and time and be pissed. Be sure to check random toy and vintage shops as well. I've found figures in some random ass stores more than once. I've had a lot of success on Ebay and Mercari as well, even if it's not MIB, you can still get decent figures. Personally, I only collect Aliens and Predators, and I can definitely say the quality control has improved in both series since early 2022. I recently completed my Predator collection in January. The Aliens series is a ton of fun. The Kenner line is amazing.

@Nostalgia Unboxed I've been getting them since they started in like 2010. I definitely got to a point where I stopped for a bit and sold some off. Once the Kenner remakes came out, I was completely defenseless against that kind of nostalgia. 😅 Great channel BTW! 🤘

NECA has been a surprise joy in my toy collecting. McFarlane DC is top priority. Legends next. Throw in some superhero Mezcos, a Transformer every once in a while, but NECA has probably impressed me most, figure for figure. I think Freddy, Jason, and Michael, and the Crooked Man from Conjuring 2 got me started on the brand. Got them around Halloween. Told myself I was never going to buy the Ultimate Predators, and then I fell into that black hole thanks to the Shaman Predator. I mean honestly, these bad boys might be the best action figures on Earth under $50. Even S.H. Figuarts, of which I have more than a few, aren't this good because they often don't come with many accessories. Those Predators are Elite NECA. And yeah, I bet there's a good deal of reuse with the bodies, but so what? Most of them have the same type body anyway, and they're all uniquely painted and almost all of them come with a unique mask and some weapons. I never see any toy TH-camr doing a Top 10 Figures of the Year which includes NECA Ultimates. Why? Is there some bias I'm not aware of? Hate to break it to them. Most of NECA's Ultimate line is better than just about any McFarlane DC or Marvel Legends, or stupidly overpriced Transformer. About the only thing that can compete is Hasbro's recent (best) entries in the G.I. Joe line, and it's really the deluxe packs with the million accessories.
While I think their animated TMNT line is excellent, after I payed $162 for the turtles four pack at Target (no wonder there wasn't a shelf label under the box), I decided NO to all other turtles figures. I should've just payed $40 more and got the four Super Seven Turtles from my local specialty toy store. Comes with WAY more stuff!
If you haven’t grabbed Super7 Turtles yet, you may want to see some videos. Not worth that retail price at all. NECA, like you said, is really unbeatable with the price, details, and accessories.

First line I collected was the Galoob Defenders of the Earth figures which just happens to be the only 6 figures I’ve bought made by NECA in the last 4 years. I stayed away from NECA due to the reports of figures breaking. I’m happy to announce all my Defenders are perfect. It appears NECA isn’t having the QC issues they once had. I hope they do a Defenders of the Earth Wave 3. I really want a Jetta figure and figures of the boys.
I was never familiar with them until they released some last year. I hope you can get some more items from Defenders in the future. Only issues I have had, personally, are with Aliens and Predators. Everything else has been great

thankfully I haven't had too much trouble getting TMNT stuff I want from target and walmart (recently got the 2 TMNT 3 2-packs), but target is far more reliable (at least in my area) when it comes to NECA (other toy brand exclusives are a different story, my walmarts don't even stock those).

First figure I collected was a Bandai EVA 00. After that I started collecting Spawn McFarlane , around 2003. I got into Neca a few years back and I decided to collect them just about 4 months ago. =). bottom line, Neca is a nightmare, but we are stuck with it =)

I luckily haven’t run into many problems with my figures. In fact the only breakage I have encountered was when I accidentally knocked over my mantis Alien and it hit the carpeted floor.

I gotta say, hearing about how difficult it is in the US to get these figures, often being Target or Walmart exclusives, I’m glad I live in Belgium. Pretty much everything is available here at local specialty retailers. Only exception are the preorder exclusives like Tokka and Rahzar, or Usagi Yojimbo. If I miss those preorder windows, it’s pretty much impossible to get a hold of them. I managed to get Usagi, but I doubt I’ll ever see Tokka and Rahzar in person.
But that’s why I follow Neca on instagram, that way I’m always informed.
That definitely makes it tough, but I’m glad you have options aside from the exclusives!

Btw, the first figures I started collecting in an entire line were Saint Seiya Myth Cloths from Bandai. Saint Seiya was an anime I watched in the late 80’s-early 90’s set in Greek mythology where knights in service of Athena fought against evil. They had awesome armors based on the constellations. I went really far into that line but they became much too expensive over time, being Japanese imports and all. Eventually I sold them off, which sometimes I still regret a bit.

Hopefully, NECA makes mostly nice figures with sometimes great sculpt.
The TMNT cartoon line goes deeper and deeper, wich is cool as well.
But, they are so amators for all the reasons you mentioned in your video.
A new Haulathon is on the way with many new stuff from that line coming, and i'm afraid it will be a total mess to get those.
Haulathon last year was a mess, but the Fall Geek Out went well. I imagine they fixed their issues. The issue now is that items end up on the shelves way before their street date so when we go on the day of there’s nothing left. I made a couple videos around the Fall Geek Out that are proving to be relevant to this as well. Controlled chaos. Haha

1) Battle damaged mirage tmnt like their shredder figure Michaelangelo should come with an extra arm thats bandaged like the return to nyc raph because in issue 4 he gets his arm sliced, and leo don raph and mike should have cuts all over them and bloodly weapons like issue 1 don should come with a nother bo thats broken like he used on a triceraton And the pre teenage mutant ninja turtles from the passing story line where Raphael had tonfa and Michaelangelo had manriki gasari that featured a character known as gosei hattori
2) Master splinter variant with a tanto short sword like his promotional art from mirage or a jim lawson ac farley or eric talbot style splinter
3) Civilian clothes Orroku Saki seen in issue 1 with the accessory of the letter splinter wrote to challenge him to death with a single Raphael sai, comes with soft goods shredder outfit you can put on civilian saki and plastic armor and kabuto helmet and also possibly the three unmasked foot ninja guards that raphael killed in issue1.
4) purple dragons gang member action figures from issue 1 and possibly tristan jones hunter mason from tales of the tmnt.
5) Mirage Tang shen figure, mirage hamato yoshi, mirage orroku nagi and a young orroku saki boxset. The acessories comes with a premutated splinter and dragon cage, bloody interchangeable hands for yoshi, with ninja mask and katana sword, a battered face tang shen interchangeable head, soft good kimono and ninja gee for shen nagi and yoshi.

My wish list for Neca in the future for their Mirage comics tmnt line, they need to bring back those Four Horsemen eastman and laird style 2008 tmnt as an ultimate figure box. they need to rerelease sdcc 2009 blue jumpsuit April with updates, rerelease the 2016 mirage shredder, elite foot ninja, & foot ninja molds and that lootcrate exclusive claw shredder clone colored in the first graphic novel imprint colors or the option in black & white need to be released regularly (not in the idw color classics colors) "for retail in single packs or two pack deals", for collectors who missed those previous waves. I dont care if the chinese bootleg figures in a tube did them to death if they can do multiple variations of the 87 toys and movie figures or universal monsters tmnt collab why not do the extra mile for the mirage comic content?
those older tmnt molds need to be updated. the bootleg and the sdcc 4 pack didnt come with the shuriken baby turtles street display or climbing claw hand accessories the rare offical release single pack came with, and the offical didnt have the accessories the mondo figures had such as the orphan alien toy grappel and interchangeable heads or belts etc, neca has show they did an update to the mousers, to be sleeker and smaller than the bulky ones they released with april or in a pack, when they released a mouser with an official 2023 mirage splinter, they also updated the utrom that came with the shredder 4 pack, & splinter in the utrom figure with the robot body, and they did something different with all those mirage shredder variants blue lootcrate black and white and the battle damaged blue that aren't in the classic burgundy red grey and brown color scheme of the four pack foot box. Those figures need to be released.
The Turtles themselves need new features, possibly articulation in their tails, toes on the feet or fingers on their hands, speaking of hands, give them the option of Interchangeable weapon specific hands for all the turtles especially for Michaelangelo nunchaku ( he poses the chucks in the middle of his middle index fingers and thumb, and the lawson figure can hold both chuck sticks in his palms.*) and Raphael (new sai hand poses, the older figure barely holds the handle of the sai and you can only display him with him holding the sai in between his fingers*) throw in some for Leonardo's katana and Donatello bo staff if you can. Give them interchangeable Heads, they do an accessory pack or single release for the 90'S movie trilogy figs, or 87 figure line why not make unmasked heads with soft goods mask knee pads elbow pads , or heads that have different facial expressions from the comic? give them interchangeable neck options because, some fans didn't like that they had long necks, and after all they are turtles they could make a new feature where you can retract or extend their necks in the torso. We need belts that holster their weapons & get rid of that block on leos carapace that holds up leos sword sheaths, give us the option of Interchangeable belts such as their standard brown sash the old figures have or a red colored sash belt (seen cover of issue 4 & original video game), a katana with stealth belt for all four turtles (seen on issue 1 cover & early promotional art pinup art, and in tmnt issue 2 where leonardo had just one katana sheath and a single katana,*) & the issue 4 leather strap belts ( seen on the lawson figure molds & mondo mirage figures.*) Make the figure more flexable you can't put them in a stance to where leonardo can take his swords out of his sheath or a samurai pulling out a katana pose because the sheaths are too thick. Make new molds for The turtles Carapaces (back shell*) on the old figures are comic panel inaccurate (the crappie 2012 playmates mirage tmnt figures gets that right about the carapace shell right but is crappy with the rest of the figure.)

Talks about finding it basically impossible to contact NECA. Thats the biggest telltale of all! With the amount of issues they have with their QC, thats why they make it hard. So they dont have to speak to any one about their problems.
It’s a very small team. Items get replaced if you email them and depending on where you purchased. Full Keno with Scooter and 4 pack TMNT figures were getting replaced this year

Dude I’ve been getting my son all the figures from TMNT Mutant Mayhem but down characters are hard to find like splinter he has almost all of them except Mando gecko which I’ve ever only seen him once so I regret not buying it that day he has the 4 turtles April fools bebop rocksteady splinter Genghis frog leather head scumbug super fly mega super fly but it’s freaking awesome showing my son the stuff I liked as a kids and him liking it too my wife always laughs and makes fun of me she’ll say did you get that for him or you
