    My wife bought me a DSLR camera about 5 years ago. I have followed several instructional courses and was totally frustrated with instructors talking way over my head. I was so frustrated I had thought about getting rid of my camera and finding a new hobby. Your course has opened my eyes and made me re-evaluate my decision. I watched you and the lights started to come on in my brain. I could understand what was going on with my camera and why it was doing things i had not understood before. your method of instruction and your explanation is in a way that got my brain to make sense and has given me a fresh start.I am very grateful for your instruction. You have a way of explaining how things are and how they work that the average person can understand. This Canadian is grateful to you and I am getting off AUTO and now I shoot in Aperture mode.

    I got away from photography these past 5 -- 7 years. Decided it was time to dust off the gear. Asked my 13 year old granddaughter this past weekend if she would be interested in learning photography this summer using my gear. She said yes (her 10 year old brother wants in too). TH-cam's algorithm decided I needed to view your videos to assist with my upcoming g-kids venture. For a change it was spot on. Thanks for sharing.

    You have an amazingly simple and lucid way of explaining otherwise complicated things. And it has a significant lot to do with your vocabulary and how you phrase your words. The sample examples is one more thing that aids in an in depth understanding. Have learned a lot through your videos. I tried to browse through your content to find any guides or tutorials related to focus modes and related aspects like focus area, metering mode etc. I couldn't find any stuff on that. I would love to see you make a video on that. Please upload a video on that. Or maybe you already have uploaded any content related to that which I couldn't find somehow. Please do share a link in that case. Rest, keep going, GBU.

    I subscribed and will be purchasing the book and cards. You do a fantastic job. I really struggled with understanding a lot of the functions in photography, though I managed fairly well to take thousands of photos (I do stop motion animation). I have never been truly satisfied with anything I took and struggled a lot. So much work in post. Your videos, your explanation, especially the f-stop finally resonated with me. The visual of the line of f's really brought it home. I don't know why I struggled in understanding, but I did. Now I feel so much more confident. Thank you for your videos and the manner in which you explain things. Really fabulous.

    how i know which is the best one?
    and what does D means?like 40D,60D

    • @ChrisBrayPhotography
      @ChrisBrayPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the D most use is just short for Digital hahaha. Not all brands use it. I love and recommend Lumix cameras, you'd be mad not to get a mirrorless these days, and for what I do, micro-four thirds mirrorless like a Lumix GH6 is the best!

  • @tiffingham
    @tiffingham ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Chris, I have watched a lot of your tutorials. Question... old git (60+) have a cheap bridge camera (Kodak AZ422) Walk as much as I can, love to take pics of deer and birds on my woodland/meadow route. What setting should I have on the camera, " in bag" so when I see it, I can shout it... I need to add, very much a beginner.

    • @ChrisBrayPhotography
      @ChrisBrayPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you need it to work without thinking at all then Auto Mode =) If you can spare a moment to think a bit, then for potentially quick moving things like wildlife, you could perhaps default leave it on maybe shutter speed mode (S mode or 'TV' on some) with a nice fast shutter speed like 1/1000th sec, and auto ISO so it does whatever it needs to, to get that nice fast shot even if it's low light.. it will also end up using a small f/# to help get that light in there fast, which is also good for nice small depth of field for your wildlife. If after a few safety shots, if the animal is still there then you can enjoy the luxury of tweaking settings a bit more like not needing 1/1000th sec perhaps so that might then let your ISO come down, or... you know... tweak from there =) Good luck!

      @ChrisBrayPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't get a DSLR anymore, they are old technology now. For sure you'd want to buy a Mirrorless. Question is full frame or micro-four thirds. For me, I use and love the Lumix GH6, mirrorless micro four thirds! Have a read: chrisbrayphotography.com/tips/mirrorless_vs_dslr.php

    What modes on a cAnon eos 700d use autofocus and what modes use manual focus ? For example in landscape mode or creative auto - what should the focus button be set to ?

    • @ChrisBrayPhotography
      @ChrisBrayPhotography  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All modes use auto focus, unless you switch the side of the lens from AF to MF then all modes will be using manual focus.. it;s set on the lens, not by the camera mode, on that camera.
