Staffel von «The Voice of Switzerland».

Sad part about this comment section is that the majority is saying “ No one can do it like Dimash “ or “ After Dimash no one should even try to sing this song “ is exactly what Dimash is against. He loves singing and his personality is being humble and showing humility etc. He will support anyone who sings and loves singing irrespective how bad or good there are. “Fans” should try to learn something from his personality.

    • @ashleydyl3228
      @ashleydyl3228 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

His voice and talent are tremendous. Many congratulations to this fine singer. In no way trying to compare him to Dimash, that would not be fair to anyone to say that one is better than the other. However, I have heard Dimash sing SOS many times. Each and every time Dimash's vocal talent never fails to emotionally touch me at some deeper level. There are very few singers (vocalists) that can reach in and touch my soul the way Dimash does with his rendition of SOS.

Before Dimash reinterpreted S.O.S, I hardly listened to any songs if not in English. But since I listened to Dimash's S.O.S version, without knowing the meaning of it, I got so emotional by his angelic voice. And now I'm listening to all his songs in Russian, Khazach, Chinese, English, Italian, French...‼️Many of his songs on YT must have at least 4 subtitles because his fans (Dears) are everywhere! This is phenomenal how the music world has changed! I am not comparing this person to Dimash. He did a good job. I encourage everyone to sing to unite people.❤️🙏💕

@@markculshaw224 Agree somewhat...Dimash is amazing with his vocal range and emotions. I would not say his foreign languages are awful, but he does have enunciation issues. His french and english lyrics are just so-so (indistinct), his chinese songs are about 85% with a good degree of likeness (flavor-wise), japanese is perhaps easier to pronounce so his one japanese song Ikanaide 行かないで at the Jubilee of the Tokyo Jazz Festival (2021) is pretty good. By far one of the best renditions I've heard. Please, everyone,
Stop comparing this guy or Gregory or anyone to Dimash.
Dimash is one of the best singers (if not the best) I've ever heard. But it is also true that he should've put a lot more efforts through the lyrics.
Balavoine and this song are huge here in France because of the lyrics. So I understand that Dimash's version can be hard to listen to for some people.
I'm not against Dimash at all, I love him, and yes, technically the other versions are way under his.
But I think the others understood the song better. That's it.
I just hate when fandoms expose their love everywhere. Sometimes it's just too much. Be respectful.

I am french and i actually think that Dimash didn't perform this song very well. I know that it's hard to learn a song in another language and to try to understand what the song means. But there's a strong message in this song ans Dimash absolutely didn't succeed to share this message and the emotion through his singing. His performance was emotionless, he couldn't pronounce the word at all, like not even a little bit like it should sound in french. He confused the words while singing. He was just showing off his ability which are amazing by the way, he's an extremely good singer with an incredible technique and voice. But he focused too much on this rather than trying to actually to sing this song. Singing isn't just about the ability of making sound with your voice, it's also about sharing a message and trying to feel the song.
This guy right here isn't french and we can clearly hear that he worked hard to be able to provide such a performance with such an hard song. Props to him it was better in my opinion than Dimash !

I agree with Antonio Mendoza, I heard many versions of this song (including Blanchette's later interpretation) and this is, by far, the best. Actually, I think his teachers screwed up by making him change the style. This is pure art. Oh, and one more thing, the lyrics are fabulous.
The first time I heard it I got shivers and tears came out of my eyes without me realizing.... amazing!

So true. The first time I hear it was soooo touching I heard it repeatedly. The I searched it up and found Gregory voice, songs and his history, and the lyrics became even more beautiful.
Then I heard the battle audition with Matthieu... they ruined so much potential : (

I didn't know who was this Dimash guy before reading the comments. First, I find it totally disrespectful to come here only to say how your favorite singer did it best. Now speaking of the song, this version is actually the original one, it was never about being powerful but about the emotions of the lyrics. Not saying Dimash was bad, his voice is amazing, but there's absolutely no need to compare since both versions are different. And for those who said "I would have not listened to this song if it was not for Dimash", good for you that you discovered this amazing song but it didn't need Dimash nor any other singer to be a masterpiece. And this song doesn't belong to him.

Nothing against this singer, nor France, nor Dimash. I may even personally like Matthieu version better.
I'm only after two of your baseless takes. Dimash was in a god damn SINGING COMPETITION, in China, as an underdog Kazakh, against the greatest Chinese singers alive (and there are billions of Chinese people), they don't care about French pronounciation. He had to give a wow effect for people to vote for him. And he did his job. Now I challenge you to listen to songs that Dimash sang in his own native language, while NOT being in a singing competition. Listen to "Samaltau". Listen to "Qairan Elim".
Plus, the fact that Dimash sang it with a lot of vocal acrobatics, doesn't automatically make it soulless. He put as much soul and effort into this song as everybody else who sang it.
Also, as others have said, if not for Dimash, nobody from outside France would ever find those other interpretations, and nobody would find Balavoine's original.
Please challenge my argument if you can.
