  • We adjust the carburetors on the Honda Transalp 650.
The bike is the last of the 650's made in early 2007.
I have owned it since 2008 and now clocked up 80,000 miles.
Sorry about the mess in my tiny workshop.

As i understood its not too important to balance them at idle because thats not where you will spend most time, it's important to balance them at the most common riding RPM (4-5k) so the engine runs smooth then, not when you sit at idle at a trafic stop. even on the video when you give it revs you see one line going higher than the other, so they are still out of tune.

I have the Honda workshop manual (what the Honda mechinics use) for my Transalp and have followed what its says to do . set the idle to 1200 rpm - + 100 check and snap throttle checking when the idle settles . This may be different on different bikes but I am following Mr Hondas proceedures LOL

Hi mate! How many kilometers do you cover with a full tank? What do you suggest me doing?
1)Should I replace the exhaust headers or the exhaust pipe with lighter ones, without catalytic?
    2) Should I replace the factory air filter with kn, dna, etc?
    3) the right oil?
    Any other trick?

Your range in KM I have already answered that question but if your concerned they take a spare petrol can on your bike and run until empty then you will know for sure.
      1) exhaust , I have a end can replacement (Fuel exhaust) which saves a bit of weight and changes the sound slightly thats about it . If you put a full system on then you may have to change the jets or adjust timing .
      2) On the standard bike you can change the air filter with a K&N (or similar) makes a small difference. You should not have to mess with jets etc.
      3) 10/40 semi synthetic
      Hope this helps
