At this stage gang, we know you have the capability to do it, just nix the louvres and put in a solid panel.

Thankfully Jolene edits out Bad Chad's bodily functions, but then again this roof panel fabrication was like Chad taking an 1hr 20 m growler if you know what I'm trying to tell ya.
A few questions outside of the build, Why do you do all of your cutting and fitting on the floor? If this hasn't killed your back and knees already, it will as you get older. Why not have a rolling steel or wood bench for much of the work currently done on the floor. Next question, why all electric tools as opposed to battery operated ones? (No cord issues). And finally, why does Jolene's jeans fit so much better than yours? I can't seem to figure this one out .LOL
I can't believe ne never wears any ear protection. His future loss of hearing will be very annoying to Jolene if they're still together in later years.
Too much louvre, personally think it will look like crap, I would prefer if the cab interior was water tight and air tight , Chad's brain is playing games with him .it's not a practical car when you have to pick and choose a day to drive it.

They went the wrong way with the louvers. A solid roof with a center bead would be better. At least Jolene came up with the idea of making them taper on the outer rows.

Chad I think you were trying to stiffen the roof up but I think your should atleast be facing toward the back,the weather will come in. Ribs on the top would look great.
I knew it! 😂as soon as I saw the louver punch press came out, Chad was in for a wild ride. Hey, we’ve all done a “dumb ass” move wrenching, welding, fabricating etc. All you can do is laugh 😂 at your mistakes and fix them up. Learn more from errors than absolute perfection. Please no more louvers tho. 😊 You inspired me to cut out a small motorcycle licence plate back plate using using a grinder and electric drill. It worked great! 👍🏻
We all have embarrassed ourselves more times than we like to admit. I would love to hear all the stories you viewers could tell. 😃 Once I built a jig to build ammo can holders, I used used-steel to build the jig. I used a 60 grit flap wheel to remove paint on the frame where I would be welding on the cross members, and decided to stay and polish the steel to where it looked like chrome, after getting done welding the frame up with absolutely beautiful welds, I slid the frame off the welding table and on to the floor.... and all the cross members fell off the frame with the welds still on the cross members edges, I was shocked, after thinking about what I did wrong, I decided the problem was I polished the metal so brightly the metal became hard and shiny, and it reflected the weld heat away from the joint, now I never go for the Chrome look and have never experienced the problem again. The outside frame welded up perfectly with the same heat setting but without the joints being polished. I used my Miller MM251 mig machine, running 75/25 gas and Lincoln .030 ER70S-6 solid wire.
This is what you could call "Educational Gold". Thank you so much for showing us everything. But I guess what you didn't show us was what you said once the camera was cut 😅😂😂. Won’t the noise caused by air turbulence be an annoyance ? I would be quite certain of this factor …I maybe wrong but it was the first thing I thought of . I’m very surprised no one is thinking of this . Ideas are good if they until they hinder a practical application .

At some point the light will go off, when you marked the line in the front you were marking the underside, then you made your layout on the bottom as well.
I think that roof is really sharp looking. I think it would look better with NO louvers. The roof looks cool because of its roundness and the louvers spoil that. My opinion. Great show!!!!

I was wondering if you did scoops instead of louvers on purpose, like you are going to duct it to the rear bike hauler louvers. I have no idea why anyone would do that, except for some weird aero. Or maybe it was so that you could grate cheese in either direction?

Then when you started nailing it on I thought, “am I going nuts?” Then you said it at the end I was like, I knew I wasn’t crazy!” LOL! We all make mistakes. Gee Chad, in putting louvers in the roof panel, how you going to keep wet weather out of the cabin? I also the same question when louvered the trunk. There was an episode on Kindig It Design where they had a vw beetle had a louvred hood lid.The problem was it leaked like a sieve in the wet weather. They ended making an expensive tray to go behind the louvers, with a complicated drain, to channel the water out of the hood area and keep the water out of the electrics near the dashboard.
An idea for you, the peace of steel you use for measuring the louvres drill some holes at each end at the half width, should save time on the tape measure. Keep up the awesome work guys 👍

Louvers are running opposite direction of the back. Thinking that will get annoying with the wind inside.
