    P.S. - Shoutout to Brad and Kyle for doing a great "behind the lanes" sort of vlog during this tournament! The qual patterns seemed brutal enough. Can't imagine how HARD those patterns get under TV conditions.

    Un québécois champion 2 fois u.s open, en plus d'une partie parfaite la première fois, c'est un rêve. J'ai vu la première fois ce gars dans un reportage sur les quilles alors qu'il débutait un programme sports études en bowling au États-Unis. Un simple amateur à ce moment. Ce ne pas facile de percé là bas. Cela prouve qu'avec de la détermination on peut accomplir nos rêve. Merci François de bien nous représenter.

    Lavoie is a class act - and proves once again he is a great bowler, always there, despite not too many revs on the ball. He keeps it in play and makes his spares. Great win.

      @@louiscsanko9322 I certainly believe it too. Not only is the hardest, but also the US Open qualification is insane: 3 days of 11 games with not rest divided into 3 squads playing with an unknown different pattern (each one with different lenght too); then other 2 days more of round-robin match up games, and after all those exhaustive pressure, a final game with another awful flat pattern with only 5 minutes of practice. These guys are real athletes. I couldn't have the strength to go through this torment like Duke at 50's, W. R. Williams Jr. or Weber. Awesome!

    How is it “only possible” to make the Greek church going to the left side? I’ve picked up a few times by going to the right side and deflecting the 6 off of the nine into the 4 and the 7

    • @Falcon888
      @Falcon888 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joey Glover you can also slam that side into the pit and hope for a bounce out like with the 7-10. That’s probably how it’s converted most honestly.

    Francois Lavoie! What a bowler! What a shot-maker! So great to see a player like this achive success on the PBA tour, and I think if anything the US.Open oil-pattern shows us that the two-handers need for the lanes to adjust for there mistakes, and in order to win on this pattern you need a high degree of accuracy that currently no two-handed bowler in the world posseses. If Belmo cant do I dont think anyone can, and certainly not Simonsen today. anyway I think if you wish to be great like Lavoie you need to change your physical workout, and start free-style swimming. That should loosen up your swing

    One handed bowling fundamentally proving its place in this tournament contrasting the top two handed contenders (Simonsen & Belmonte) vs Francois Lavoie. Note that 2 foreigners (Lavoie & Barrett) won this tournament with a relaxed hand at the stance and push away and a straight swing in line with the target line. O'Neill, Rash, by contrast, both have a tense, curled cupped gripe and under U.S. open conditions, you can see the results.

    Wow, that oil pattern looked nasty as crap! Not often you see almost everyone struggle so badly, including a 148 game out of Belmo. I wonder if someone like Norm Duke who is so good at playing that down-and-in shot from the outside could have a better time. My guess is someone like Mike Haugen Jr., who practically throws a straight ball, would have the best chance on a terrible pattern like this.

      He just never knows how to fill empty space. Even during the slowmo breakdowns oc their swings he was pretty quiet and awkward. He obviously knows bowling but I think he tries to oversimplify things to pander to non-bowlers. Randy explains things so well that maybe we're spoiled but Marshall isnt cutting it. Let Barnes do it
