Haha yeah, I did this for a TV taping. The bowling center keeps a mechanic behind the TV pair to make sure everything goes as quick as possible. This means pushing the ball along also so it doesn't get stuck.
I was in a commercial before the matches started. I was on national TV almost 50 clips. I got to shake Norm Dukes hand. I got his and Anthony Simonsen's autograph and was handed the trophy personally. That my friends is one of the greatest days I've ever had.
178 Best of 10 today. It was work to keep it above 100 today for some reason unknown. Okay, I know... I am very bad. It seems like forever to get out of the 140's. Regarding the pitch at 12:05 getting great action, I can't believe that someone else got the shot I got today. I turned away and started to fade out when the pin dropped.

I have actually done something similar, but far more entertaining. I took out the 4,8 on my first shot, then shot the hole on my 2nd. Only time I've EVER had the chance to even attempt that shot. A little back story: I was on a long pattern with really crisp back ends and had already done what i needed to do to move into the next round. My first shot was just a ditch, but i was working on my miss area for the next round, so after I clipped the 4,8...I bet my pro shop guy 20 bucks on throwing it again! I have thrown a washout shot and plugged the hole many times for fun, and have won a fair bit of beer money playing around, but never even seen a ball take out the 4,8 alone.(6,9 for righties)

I was chasing my mark as always, and the oil didn't seem to make any difference at all, except for the idea that I must try to be more perfect than on regular house shot. I see that Brad (from the Brad and Kyle channel) didn't make it to the finals again :( He posted his video on his try, but shut down commenting, what a bummer. His video did illustrate, however, that PBA bowling is hard. I haven't calculated my average from today yet, but, I can say this, I really need to slow down and focus to try to get my arm and hand in the correct position for release. I missed so many strikes because I was off by an arrow, or a board, or my hand was on top of the ball. What a world, but I'm so glad that bosoares is on point and has us covered for the PBA complete coverage. He RULES THE UNIVERSE!!!!!! I do wonder if he bowls, and what is his average... on pro-shot??? I'm now pestering the house to let me know when I can try the Shark and Viper pattern. @@jeffthebracketman Yes. The lanes has so many factors beyond a bowler's control. When I achieve a good shot, I want to repeat it, regardless of the results. A big hook is fun to watch... but it's more important to find the pocket. I wish I could bowl half as good as EJ. He made two awesome spares - looked totally relaxed, and just let it go like he owned the lane. I liked this two pattern test, and think it does find the better bowler. Simonsen had a very nice groove going until the pattern blew open on the right to leave him crawfishing for a couple frames. As he gets more experience and makes adjustments quicker, he could find hall of fame material - hope he sticks with the game. The no thumb bowlers pay a steep price when their axis tilt does not suit conditions, but the carry they get most of the time seems to make it worth the risk.
@@flinch622 A big hook leaves easy single spares. Hitting the pocket with a straight down and in is easier but can leave some nasty splits if you don't have enough revs to cause a "hit them thin and watch them spin" result.

In this one I would say Simonsen lost rather than Duke won. Duke did his best to stay in the pocket and stay clean. Simonsen got into brat mode and defeated himself. When Simonsen saw his power failing him and his ball choices jumping all over the place, he just started throwing harder and then finally just throwing and not caring. He was defeated after the first few poor frames, in "his mind." He kept looking over to his ball reps and complaining rather than focusing on what was going on right in front of him, the lanes. If Simonsen had just taken a breath, saw that his technique was ineffective, and recognized that he needed to ball down and play safe, he could have had a chance. I never saw Duke running to mommy to complain that his toy was stolen. Simonsen needs to grow up and manage his own game and life. They should outlaw coaching in bowling. Automatic zero frame if caught doing it, if it happens a second time, another zero frame and a third time, disqualification.
Bowlers should be able to talk to a coach. If they ignore the advice and do badly, that's on the bowler. Sort of like Cleveland pro teams. And they have all sorts of coaches! 😆😆😆
@@pamelacass9642 In other individual sports coaching is not allowed such as Tennis. I think that is the way it should be for bowling. Bowling is also a sport of mind and strategy. It is not always the best bowler that wins, it is often the smarter bowler that wins. That should come from their own mind and not a team of balls reps, coaches, lawyers, priests and who knows what else back there.
yea I dont understand the need to do this 2 oil patten thing except that not having wood lanes does means the two lanes could be identical on synthetics otherwise.

165 Best of 5 on Bourbon Street oil. It seems I am not improving this week. I've really only been at it for 3 weeks straight, with only about 2 or 3 days of no bowling and at least 5 games a day. I have now posted my first game from yesterday. It's not pretty. Also, if Jason Belmonte is the best bowler on the planet, why can't he beat Norm Duke?? and, why can't he bowl back to back 300's on tour??? That's what I intend to do, but it might take more years than I have left if I can't break out of the 120 rut I'm stuck in :) Can anyone please check my bowling and tell me what I need to do to get it right? It seems I'm making lots of 8's and 9's with a feeling that I'm so almost there, just need a small adjustment somewhere.
220 Best out of 10 today and started out with a 181. I think it's improvement, but, it's hard to tell since I'm still not getting strikes every time. I did average out at 148, and had a 5 strike streak snapped at the very end of the 220 game :( 25:21 The PBA World Series of Bowling Schedule starts here. Meanwhile, the Jewish bowlers are getting perfect games, but, can't seem to make it back to back, although, they do look extremely impressive throwing their 10 pound balls straight down the middle for snappy, thunderous strikes. Also, a Jew-hater-white-supremist-wannabe shouted racial Hitlerian slogans at a really good female bowler, who, I don't think even understood what he said nor did she seem to care. Have you EVER seen Norm curse at all even after his losses? Wouldn't matter if this kid ended with 60 titles to Norms 40.... fact is there's a HUGE difference between Norm and little guy
@@michaelthompson4217 Deffinately a young man with a lot still to learn. He has a great game, but still could learn a lot from someone like Norm when it comes to his mental game. For sure he will win many titles, and give him 30 more years he may be the perfect ambasedor to the sport like Norm is. Or maybe not?
Kimberly pressler is such a gorgeous woman with a fantastic figure as well.
if they get rid of her I quit watching...lol
@@mpup54
Lol out right but there are some woman bowlers who are hot also
Really old. Short. Skinny. About half the rev rate of most top pros. How does Norm Duke win? Skill. Baby!! All his has is skill, and probably a set where it counts made of cast iron. Congrats!!!
OUTDATED -- SLOW REVS -- >>>> Hey kids>>>> You said the old school style can NOT beat the new school 2 best -- 2 handed --high rev' ers in the world ..... I'm sorry some old grandpa dude just starched Your hero's.... Can You imagine The Duke with His competitive intensity playing Fortnight ! ! !
Great bowler right there
Why does the crowd cheer for a 7 count?
Michael N Support for a struggling player.
Better than a split.
Is Sean Maldonado any good? He bowls at my home alley, and my friends will be like, “Hey Ryan. It’s Sean Maldonado” I just go like “so?”. But like, is he supposed to be a big deal? Haven’t watched bowling in awhile so the only name I recognized was Norm Duke.
Sean is good, made a couple of shows and i believe have a couple of regionals. Hes also a favourite pick for the pba league
He’s a good bowler. He just needs to figure out how to win on TV
it was an amazing victory for Norm Duke
In this one I would say Simonsen lost rather than Duke won.
Duke did his best to stay in the pocket and stay clean.
Simonsen got into brat mode and defeated himself.
When Simonsen saw his power failing him and his ball choices jumping all over the place, he just started throwing harder and then finally just throwing and not caring.
He was defeated after the first few poor frames, in "his mind."
He kept looking over to his ball reps and complaining rather than focusing on what was going on right in front of him, the lanes.
@ 1:16:50 damn, work on your attitude xD 😅
A single oil pastern. Would be great.
yea I dont understand the need to do this 2 oil patten thing except that not having wood lanes does means the two lanes could be identical on synthetics otherwise.
DUKE Class Act !!!
Yes, your on TV (in the background), no need to keep looking at yourself making weird faces.
Its simple. If you bowl against Norm Duke, you had better live in the pocket.
Anyone seen belmo? Or he didnt enter this tour?? If he did enter but didnt make it to top5 seeds.. Thats mean simonsen are better than him.. Is it true?
@Max Ferrari ahh thanks alot buddy, quite worry because havent seen him in this tournament since he lost to dukee..
He was back home in Australia, resting and preparing for the WSOB.
Belmonte was registered to bowl but backed out to spend time with his family before the WSOB
@@TheOrtiz53 when is the WSOB GUYS??
@@shahizad2755 It starts this Sunday the 10th and continues until Thursday March 21st

Best of 5 on Bourbon Street oil.

Best out of 10 today and started out with a 181. I think it's improvement, but, it's hard to tell since I'm still not getting strikes every time. I did average out at 148, and had a 5 strike streak snapped at the very end of the 220 game :(
25:21 The PBA World Series of Bowling Schedule starts here.
It's getting cheesy up in here.
Where in the world are YOU??? Columbus, Ohio???
@@pamelacass9642 LOL!!! no, not for many many months from now. My average has gone down substantially lately for no apparent reason. I haven't hit a 200 in weeks. It's really very depressing.

AussiePillow1 i guess in a way but I would put it more as it’s a super big deal to them and it’s very important because that’s how they provide and stuff so loosing and making mistakes having distractions from others in the room are very irritating for anyone even if ypyr a super kind person

*steps off approach*. Someone in the booth breathed a little heavier. I could hear it, it was a few decibels louder. Can you ask them to stop breathing while I throw this shot?
@Niclas Bang Rasmussen 8B Søhusskolen Just a hint of sarcasm. Not an actual situation, but just exaggerating the bowler's need to complete and utter silence. Someone blinked over there, someone's phone vibrated, That person coughed, it's just funny to me.
But I believe someone was standing up-that’s what he was talking about..
