The ratites such as emu, cassowary, rhea and ostrich can run at over 35mph - and a kick from an cassowary or ostrich is perfectly capable of unzipping the human abdomen. Think a cross between a pissed off chicken and a Deinonychus - the only difference is Deinonychus used its kicking for hunting and climbing, the ratites use it for defence (cassowary are most dangerous protecting eggs/chicks). You get used to getting bitten after a while. I've a black eye at the moment - from a 2 year old cornsnake decided my eyelid was lunch. Not serious but most people would go berserk..

However none of their bites hurt much. luckily not all of them know to kick. Im confident if Kevin, maybe even karen if they did kick it would hurt more than an ostrich biting you multiple times.

The ratites such as emu, cassowary, rhea and ostrich can run at over 35mph - and a kick from an cassowary or ostrich is perfectly capable of unzipping the human abdomen. Think a cross between a pissed off chicken and a Deinonychus - the only difference is Deinonychus used its kicking for hunting and climbing, the ratites use it for defence (cassowary are most dangerous protecting eggs/chicks).
You get used to getting bitten after a while. I've a black eye at the moment - from a 2 year old cornsnake decided my eyelid was lunch. Not serious but most people would go berserk..
