Became familiar with the tiger beetle due to a book showing the art work featuring the covert art of a book Will of the Wisp by Thomas Burnett Swann, looked up the insect to see what the lady on the art work was riding on. That said, wonder which of these are safely edible. Also the thumbnail is misleading since the video does not show cricket like thing.
Nah, it is not cruel. It is an healthy hobby and, in some cases, it is really good for some critically endangered species, just like Lord Howe's island stick bug (it was nearly extinct but breeders made quite a number of them in their artificial enclosures and put them back where they went extinct). Do not feel bad for doing it.
