Really like them both, but do prefer the non-grout. Personally though I would go for the one that will last longer and less maintenance over time as they are both lovely. Love these videos, can't waaaaiiit to see the finished result 😊 (and Sky's reaction to her new home)
Ok. Opinión on the brick...i like the b option better. It just looks much cleaner and. Timeless. Good job you to. Ive been watching you for years now and its been a joy to watch you grow into this courageous couple ready and willing to take on a massive project like your dream home.
I love the brickslips with the mortar - I can't believe most people are saying that the splitface tiles look timeless, it's the typical modern tile that's in a lot of homes since 2010! There's a reason why homes across the UK have brick and mortar because it's timeless - either way will look amazing! (p.s. Architecture grad here).
It looks like a beautiful and wonderful country house. It is extraordinarily large and spacious. With a beautiful design. You can also have a spacious garden. I love it.
Hi Roxy love all your videos. The house is coming along really good. You and Matt have done so well on building your own home. Love these types of videos. Thank you for sharing.
i used to watch your videos years ago when i was about 16 and just stumbled upon this recommendation (i’m 22 now) - it’s so cool to see how much you’ve grown, and i’m so happy for you it’s like stumbling across a long lost friend aha. will be keeping up with this series for sure, hoping the build goes well, it’ll be gorgeous when finished for sure
Carrots are incredibly easy to grow and so fun to pull out. Just make sure as they start to sprout you pull some out to thin them. They crowd easily as they grow.
Got to be one of my fav TH-camrs!! Love how you’re so real with it all and also shows hard work pays off. Also the fact you guys are building your own home is a massive inspiration to a lot of us x
I really love both options, with the grout it creates some nice contrast against the brick tho. Without it it may look just like a big grey block from the far, maybe? Anyways I got SO MUCH respect for the both of you! Building a house mainly on your own is CRAZY!
Wow, y’all have come a long way! Can’t wait to see it done. And I love your trees!! As to veges to plant, tomato plants are easy.. just plant and water basically. 🤣 And the siding… I like B, the no grout option. It looks classier to me.
I'm soooooo excited to see the progress you're making in your house!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉💖🇨🇦 A glass pivot door would be AWESOME for your front door!!!! 🚪Double or single spine stairs would be incredible too and i think it would go with the esthetic you're going for.
As far the brick…I personally like the non grout for ease of application but the grouted one is stunning. It’s your dream house…do the one that makes you happiest. As for gardening…try tomatoes, green beans, green bell peppers, maybe cucumbers. Watermelon seems pretty easy and pumpkins. Also strawberries but make sure you have a contained space for them or they’ll grow out of control.
was waiting for a new update- it's so neat to see how much progress has been made so quickly! Truly excited to see the next installment. Also- I'd be curious as to an update on how you still like living in the tiny house now you've been in it a while. Are there any design decisions you love? or ones you regret/would do differently if you had to build it again?
Brilliant video, Roxxi! So nice to see how the house is coming along. As for the grout, I would definitely go for B (no grout). In our last house, our main wall looked exactly like that and it was gorgeous! I'm loving all your Japanese Acers, so much so that I'm going to show my husband and suggest we have a little Japanese section in our new place! xx
Thanks for the feedback! I think we are also steering towards B! Ooooh yes! they are such stinning additions to any garden! If you need any help or advice on how to best take care of acers give me a shout! I can also advise on the best cultivars as theres so many!
@@Roxxsaurus You're an absolute star, Roxxi! Thank you. I may well take you up on that, when we start working on the garden (although ours will be way smaller than yours lol!) xx
I like B without the grout, but it's your dream home so do what you prefer :) House is looking amazing so far! Loving the vlogs such a great way to keep a record of it all to look back on in the future.
Reading through the comments I see most people like option b, the no grout stonework. I agree. It looks more modern. The sample with the grout might look better if you use a dark grout. I would try a sample with dark grout just to compare the two. As to the garden I would recommend a salad garden. Lettuce, carrots, radishes and tomatoes. You can even try peppers. If you want cabbage remember to plant it, broccoli, cauliflower and kale away from the peppers because they have different soil needs. Put a wire fence around your garden to protect it from hungry critters. Also, a little trick to keep squirrels out of your garden, mix some coffee grounds in the soil surrounding the garden. Squirrels are not fond of the taste and smell of coffee or the small of mint. Neither are deer. If you plant marigolds around your garden it will keep rabbits away. But the best is a good tall fence surrounded by marigolds. Enjoy your garden!
I love these series!! I am so happy for both of you ❤️ I saw the tour of the house plan on another video, everything sounds amazing. I was wondering if maybe it would be good to have a mud room back entrance? Or something similar, in case there is bad weather and not to dirty up the entrance of the house, just as a tip! But everything does look amazing and I imagine it will be even better when it is complete 😍🙌🏻
Oh no I think I’m gunna have to go with option b as well as most of the comments, a does look good but I feel like it doesn’t look as good as b, and also I love these videos so much I said omg yes so loud when I opened TH-cam, I can’t wait to see more and watch you venture more into gardening, oh and I feel raspberry bushes are quite easy to care for we had lots growing up, only thing to worry about is the thorns for animals 🤔
Zucchini is super easy...just over plant or you will have the zucchini vines growing everywhere!! Lettuces are easy too and they like cooler weather so plant soon.
I think option A looks very special, but i worry about spiders etc. Setting down in the missing grout . So id go for option B for sure ! Love your videos!❤
I can’t deal with Roxi in the white shoes and beige outfit 😂 There’s still so much mud! Hopefully now that you guys are moving into warmer weather you’ll have it done in no time ❤ awesome work!
I think that the B is a better choice because if you were to choose A long-term wise it might catch dirt etc so it probably will be more difficult to clean and it might not look as good as it did. However I'd say that it's mainly up to you guys to choose the one that you actually like the most !! 🥰
Love love love this series!❤️❤️❤️ brick options…really difficult to decide but variant A seems slightly more preferable for me☺️ overall i am sure the house will come out amazing! Waiting for the next episode🫶🏼
B, non-grout. Looks absolutely brilliant so far. Obsessed with your Acers. Ours seems to be dying, if you have any tips on how to care for them? We've had it for a few weeks now and the leaves have specs of brown on them x
Thank you! Ooo do you know which kind you have? Some but not all varieties do well when supplemented with liquid seaweed to boost them during the spring and summer months! If they’re getting brown spots it could be either sun scorch and not enough water! If you put your finger in the soil and the soil doesn’t stick to your finger and is dry, then water it! During hot spells you should water it every evening as the sun is setting. It should also have dappled shade during the peak of the sun if possible! Although some acers do well in full sun. It’s just hard to tell without knowing which kind you have xx
It's going to be an amazing home! I can't get over the size of it, our house footprint is probably around the side of your bedroom 😂 Can't wait to see it progress!
B for sure 😊 My biggest question is, how will you be able to afford running such a big house with how the energy market is going crazy? I'm sure you will have a smart solution.
Good question! We are gonna have solar panels and mechanical ventilation which means the house will be ventilated without any trickle vents in any of the windows, which in most houses causes a lot of heat loss in the winter.
I think B looks better. It looks more cleaner (not like A that was actually still not cleaned but like style) and more elegant. If it would be a light color A would be perfect, but that dark grey color is nicer in B’s style😅
Which brick style do you guys think we should do on the exterior of the house?? Let me know!
A
I actually truly prefer B
Absolutely A!! 🎉
Really like them both, but do prefer the non-grout. Personally though I would go for the one that will last longer and less maintenance over time as they are both lovely.
Love these videos, can't waaaaiiit to see the finished result 😊 (and Sky's reaction to her new home)
B
I like B the non grout. Well done you two, so much courage and hard work, it’s going to be amazing!
Thanks so much!
Brick Opinion:
B - No Grout, it looks Classier and more timeless. 💫💫💫💫💫💫
I think I agree!
I think it will look better in time! The grout version will get dirty very quickly
Ok. Opinión on the brick...i like the b option better. It just looks much cleaner and. Timeless. Good job you to. Ive been watching you for years now and its been a joy to watch you grow into this courageous couple ready and willing to take on a massive project like your dream home.
I love how youtube recommends me youtubers I used to watch when I was a teenager but have forgotten... Good to see you still active!
Option B…what a fantastic property you are creating xx
I love the B option and honestly your pinky trees against that will look so pretty! I planted zucchini and strawberries they are so easy to care for!
I love the brickslips with the mortar - I can't believe most people are saying that the splitface tiles look timeless, it's the typical modern tile that's in a lot of homes since 2010! It looks like a beautiful and wonderful country house. It is extraordinarily large and spacious. With a beautiful design. You can also have a spacious garden. I love it.
I’m really loving this series, it is really satisfying seeing the building coming together. Your Acers are beautiful
Glad you like them! And thank you so much ☺️
B! 100%
These building videos have me dancing on my feet, keep it up rox!
Option B for sure. Love the update! ❤
I love how Roxi looks like Barbie but is very hands on with the construction.
Hahah thank you! I don’t mind getting my nails dirty! 😅
Thanks for the mention. Look forward to finishing the project with you. Great stuff!
Hi Roxy love all your videos. The house is coming along really good. You and Matt have done so well on building your own home. Love these types of videos. Thank you for sharing.
the A Looks etter n cleaner. you guys are amazing...cant wait to see how it finishes...
Are you allowed to discuss prices as far as how much have you spent so far? How much is gonna cost and things like that ??
i used to watch your videos years ago when i was about 16 and just stumbled upon this recommendation (i’m 22 now) - it’s so cool to see how much you’ve grown, and i’m so happy for you it’s like stumbling across a long lost friend aha. will be keeping up with this series for sure, hoping the build goes well, it’ll be gorgeous when finished for sure
I kept on checking your channel for another video from this series! So glad you posted ❤
Loving the realness on how your house is coming together 😀 The Japanese screens would perfect😍
I prefer B it looks so nice and bonus if it’s easier and less labour intensive. You guys are doing so well!!x
I cannot wait to see the finished home. You and Matt are doing amazing!!!!
Thank you so much!! 😊
Carrots are incredibly easy to grow and so fun to pull out. Just make sure as they start to sprout you pull some out to thin them. They crowd easily as they grow.

Aww thank you sooo much! ❤️
Your house is going to look amazing once completed! Well done you too 🎉
Def option B for the bricks, looks nicer, timeless and sleek.
My favourite part is here
I really like when you are part of the building process
I love youuuuuuu ❤
YAY! I love this series! 🙌🏼
Yaaay! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment ❤
Looking awesome so far. Great job. You both should be very proud of yourselves. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks so much! 😊
I would choose B. The nongrouted. Very happy for you both! It's going to be a beautiful home!!
I like brick A. Mortar is just so classy looking and honestly brings out the lines of the modern house 🥳
I really love both options, with the grout it creates some nice contrast against the brick tho. Without it it may look just like a big grey block from the far, maybe? Anyways I got SO MUCH respect for the both of you! Building a house mainly on your own is CRAZY!

No grout option the first one beautiful wow amazing property you are building x
Wow! Such a huge beautiful house and property!
Great idea!!
I love option B better..the house is going to look so amazing when finished.
Waow … so much progress .. congrats guys 🎉❤
I like B non grout and wow its crazy to see the actual design coming together you guys have worked so hard and it's slowly paying off bit by bit
As far the brick…I personally like the non grout for ease of application but the grouted one is stunning. It’s your dream house…do the one that makes you happiest. I'm so jealous that you're building your dream home but you're a lovely lass (yes I'm from Yorkshire lol) and you deserve it! 💕
Thank you so much!!
I’m so happy for u guys, I’ve been watching seres since the very first one.

House is looking amazing so far! Loving the vlogs such a great way to keep a record of it all to look back on in the future.
We do Corgette each year as they are so easy!!! You get quite alot off one plant too, we tend to do 2 plants and feeds 2 of us plus spare!
That is awesome! Will defo have to try courgettes as we eat them frequently!
House building in the UK is soo soo different then in the US. So cool to see.
how?

B on the bricks and an easy vegi to start out with would be tomatoes 🍅 for sure 😊
For front doors go for Hormann. Great quality, minimalistic designs
Watching from Namibia 🇳🇦. Favorite youtuber im hook😂
Tomatoes and green peppers have been my easiest vegetables to grow. Also, I've had a lot of luck with broccoli! I'm also a beginner!
I’m waiting for an update on this excited❤

So excited to see this!!🌸😍
I think option A looks very special, but i worry about spiders etc. Setting down in the missing grout . So id go for option B for sure ! Love your videos!❤
Option B is my preference
Definitely no grout, B!!! It feels more unique and textured!
I like A with grout.. looks more finished, can’t wait to see it finished .. do you have a finish time?? ❤
B looks good ❤
Some easy vegetables would be carrots and onions. Herbs are super easy to grow as well.
I like A bc dark grout always looks “dirty” to me. Loving the progress now!🙌🏼
I can’t deal with Roxi in the white shoes and beige outfit 😂 There’s still so much mud! Hopefully now that you guys are moving into warmer weather you’ll have it done in no time ❤ awesome work!

Option B for sure!!
It’s finally ERECTED the steels 😆, that drone shots are so cool! i like your plants collections.
Definitely prefer B
Yaay ❤ congrats for the other step you guys made ❤
Love love love this series!❤️❤️❤️ brick options…really difficult to decide but variant A seems slightly more preferable for me☺️ overall i am sure the house will come out amazing! Waiting for the next episode🫶🏼
Thank you for the feedback! xx
ITS FINALLY COMING ALONG SO WELL AHHHH ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're doing great on your house! I think option B is better. By the way, your garden is so pretty!✨
Thank you! 😊
You should definitely go for option B. It looks way nicer.
I’d love to know the costs and what went into building? can’t wait to see it fully built

Lettuce and cabbage grows nicely in Irish and UK weather
It's going to be an amazing home! I can't get over the size of it, our house footprint is probably around the side of your bedroom 😂 Can't wait to see it progress!
Option B! Love from the Netherlands
Doesn t the wood paneles get ruin with the rain?
B looks great
B for sure!
You’re bringing LA home to the UK lol!!
B for sure , it is looking great , u can both come n build me a bungalow 😁😝
I love the style B! X
My vote is no grout! It looks more seamless and modern
What you posted 4 days ago and I’m seeing this now 😢😢
The algorithm never shows your “dream build home “ series while it’s my favourite series 😫
Aw man! Glad you found it at last! Thanks for watching!!
B for sure 😊

We need another update !!! ❤
Its B for me ❤
U guys r so brave for building a home like in a foresty area bc I wud honestly be so scared 😂
I like how B looks better.
Cherry tomato for your beginner garden 😊
Thanks! Will try it for sure! Would they still grow well without a green house?
Wait aren’t the walls prone to getting wet in British weather like is it sturdy compared to bricks??
It’s going to be covered by a weatherproof sheet, then cladded with waterproof cement board and then bricks and composite cladding over the top!
