I haven't had the honor of being knocked out at one of their shows yet but I did get punched directly in the eye within about 10 seconds of The Hammer starting.
It has been so fun watching these dudes grow. I saw them live with maybe 60 other people back in summer at The Warehouse in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It was before Absolute even dropped. Low spotify numbers and everything, lol. Still felt like a treat to get a real, label signed hardcore name to come through. I hope they come back and give our town some love again, it was crazy fun. These guys are going places.
What I like about KK is they will play huge shows and they’ll still play venues with a cap of 100. Matthew is one of the realest best dudes I’ve ever dealt with in the scene. So glad to see how far they’ve came over the past 12 almost 13 years.

Thank you for mixing and uploading all these amazing livesets. Most of these bands don’t come through here very often so it’s awesome to get a bit of that live energy through these videos. And getting it with the audio quality you produce is absolutely amazing. For some bands I’ve listened to your video of them more than the actual recordings!
How did you enjoy mixing them? I've mixed them a few times at my local venue and they're a treat. They've got their live tone so dialed in that really all I had to do was get the levels right and it was pretty hands off for most of the set
@@LeoSypniewski when I mix them, they ask for no guitars in their wedges, vocals only. Their stage sound is that good (which is impressive as my venue is a notoriously bad sounding room). They do the same for you?
interesting read, really nice that you have been able to do this. Something I mentioned is that the mastering of mixing of their songs (take Boomslang for example) is extremely good.
@@kamjzit’s pretty neat you say that because when I saw them live. I was in the front row when I saw them , and their onstage sound was the best on the bill of bands. Other bands had digital rigs or their tones just weren’t as good. Kublai sounded absolutely disgusting. The duel guitar cabs made a world of difference. The guitar and bass was ripping through my chest. I heard everything perfectly. They were by far the loudest
Leo. Love your channel. I've been conjuring up a Playlist of sick live shows and your vids make up a good 30 percent of it lmao. Keep it coming brother 🎉
I've been watching this for like 2 hours lmaoo. The mix was amazing, and the chemistry between the crowd n Khublai khan was as well. thanks for the post man
I mixed these guys subbing in for a friend in a tiny place called Eagle's Hall in Henderson NV. They reminded me of a modern version on Pantera. Even though this style is not that compelling to me, these guys make it come alive.
I swear to fucking Gawd I got an intense rush of hair standing up on the back of my neck, jumped to my feet, and let it all go... Excellent stuff right here feel so good
My man leo always breaking everything with his videos, only congrats to you and your amazing job that always keep getting better and better. Saludos desde el sur del mundo amigazo, sigue con tu excelente trabajo y sigue apoyando a la escena que se da alla. Greetings froms chile my compadre!!!
I remember the first standing before this band and they opened up with “eyes up” and that was the song that got me into hardcore. Fucking love these guys !
A lot of vocalists like this might employ a "safe" scream during tours so they dont wear out their voice as much. he does sound different live but i bet its just so he can preserve his voice better throughout the tour.
What pedal is the bass player using? I’m assuming it’s some kind of 808 bass drop pedal since he hits it a lot. Any answers would be great. It’s def not a channel or preamp pedal since he hits it multiple times during same parts.
First time I ever heard of this band was at a show. At the end of Self-Destruct, I thought there was a malfunction with the guitar. I was like, “Oh shit, this bass + drum breakdown is actually sick af.”
Anybody know what the pedal is used for that the bass player keeps switching. It keeps turning off by itself like it doesn't stay on. Is it just an overdrive on a timer?
God Damn...love their energy...they truly bring it and love the fact that they interact with the crowd....makes for an even better show for sure. I have never seen them yet and definitely look forward to it. I'm 48 and my 25 y/o got me in to these fellas...so glad he did....
Christopher Plank Hi Christopher, I saw them live just 1 time and it was exactly what you see here. High energy level, interacting with the crowd, topnotch sound. That performance made them my big favorite band. KK forever
@@Monster-hx8qx Awesome to hear. I also love the fact that they played during the Pandemic...fuck THE NEW WORLD is say. And like Suicidal Tendencies once said "You Can't Keep Me Down!"
@@Monster-hx8qx And I appreciate their simpleness in the arrangement of the songs, their seemingly simple playing style...nothing too crazy. 90% sure it’s a Darkglass

Get the album tones easy as with a b7k boosted low and highs into a microtubes x
