I don’t understand how a band with such simplicity and minimal equipment can be THIS fucking good. You got some bands out here doing the most and can’t even come close to the feeling this band gives me. I literally get the sense I could fly up and punch an eagle out of the sky when I hear their music.
IMO it’s the songwriting. The riffs, the drum simplicity, Matthew using rhythmic patterns in his vocals, all of it. They always seem to focus on writing that’s actually awesome to listen and groove to, then they slab loads of heaviness on top of that.

@Astral_Wave yeah in interviews he said he only used single kick but has some songs that use double and he regrets it lol. So he still has it for a few songs but most of the time he's only using one

Wild that it's 3pc it sounds huge and I love his style I hear a lot of vinnie paul there. I miss this type of drumming in metal to where the drum bass doesn't always follow the other instruments to the letter don't get me wrong I love that too but for example in self destruct that intro sounds insane and he's literally playing a 1 snare 3 snare doesn't get more simple than that but it sounds incredible specially when he misplaces the beat in the measure omg just nasty.
@Sparson You should look up the interview that Issac and Mathew did recently with the DownBeat. They're asked if they think of themselves as a hard-core band. To which the Mathew answered answered "no we're metalcore". Only fucking dorks care that much about genre. Just listen to it.

no its deffo slower. by about 5 bpm. throws the entire vibe of the song off IMO, weird.
They make the tempo more dynamic during live shows, seems intentional. I know other bands do this too
