That is the reason why he co-wrote the song My Kind of Perfect, because he wanted songs that were from his heart. That is why if we will notice, his album The Other Side of Down is more of mature songs talking about life. He said this in his recent videos 😁

This way he was exposed as an incredible talent and free to go his own way.. And he has certainly done more than Cook in the years since the Idol contest ended.. I absolutely love his music.. his voice has an incredible melodic quality that appeals to a wide audience.. In a way, I am glad he didn't win .. look where he went with the #2 spot ! : >
i seriously cried when he didn't win. my mom was like "it will be ok." And i was so in love with him i was like "no it won't be". i was balling my eyes out. i know talent when i hear it, and david archuleta very much has it! Plus he is such a sweet guy! I mean gosh! And omg i totally forgot mariah was on this season. I would love to work with her! it would be such an honor to work with her!!!

As a singer, he's got tremendous talent. Having said that, I often feel that people tend to over-sing this particular song; like that "whoa-oa-oa-oah" part that he does as his back-up singers actually sing the WORDS of the chorus. I tend to think that the main singer should be the one to first sing the words to the chorus instead of having his back-up singers cover it. Frankly, and I know people will disagree with me, I felt that the people who did the BEST job with this song were the two ladies who sang it during the movie itself (Prince of Egypt); Michelle Pfeiffer & Sally Dworsky. Just my opinion.

David's career is far from over. Just because he was dropped doesn't mean someone else isn't going to pick him up. His golden, perfect pitch voice will take him places not many singers can go.
I was 17 years old. when I watched him on American idol and he's the same age as me. born in 1990 I'm 2 months older then him my birthday is in October. and I had a big crush on him then and I even saw him in concert in 2008.
