Are you planning on viewing the Justice Society WORLD WAR 2 from 2021? If I overlooked it I apologize but if you haven't you will get your animated " MIRACLE" and not just a quick cameo!
Too bad they were not told to watch the shorts first. They couldn't react to the tie in comic, but Needlemouse production did great videos on all three that covers the comics before the movie. I have shown those first before the movie and they have appreciated the contexts.
@@dcworld4349 The shorts are great, but I personally preferred having watched after the movie: yes, it gives context, but for this movie I found that the surprise worked better. Getting to discover the characters for the main event (the movie) was a big part of what I liked.
@@leovk5779 Sure but they both clearly had a bit of an investment problems not knowing what they were getting into. And as fans who watched it as it came out, we had piecemeal marketing leading up to the movie with the shorts and the tie in comics being released so that when we saw the movie we were both hyped and informed about what the rules of this world was. And I feel Wonder Woman got the short end of the stick in this movie if you didn't have the tie in comic knowledge. Batman being Kirk Langstrom is ironically good given that he is Man-Bat in Batman's rouges gallery. Given the timeline I would bet that this Batman saved the Wayne's.
This is one of my favorite DC Animated movies. I love this amazing Elseworld take on the DC Trinity. This take on Superman being especially interesting. While he is not afraid of killing people he's still got Sups strong sense of justice. Batman while a Vampire is still also really justified in his morals. WW also has one of the saddest backstories that when I first watched that sequence brought me to tears.
Agree. This is also my favorite DC Animated movie. I have watched his movie several times and Hernan Guerra has become my favorite Superman, I would love to see him in live-action.
this is one of the most underrated Elseworld tails in the DC animated universe. love it. and also, the 5 robots are this worlds version of the normal DC The Metal Men. Created by scientist Dr. William "Will" Magnus, the robots were Gold, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Ti,; and Platinum (also called "Tina"), who believed that she was a real woman and was in love with her creator. they have a long history in DC and were created way back in the 60's and have been in many animated movies and animated tv shows over the years including Batman: Brave and the Bold and DC Nation animated shorts.
William Magnus was a fantastic villain in this movie with how calculated, manipulative, and how he was able to be one step ahead of the Justice League when ruining their reputation. Things would have turned out differently if Lex Luthor didn’t miraculously survive.
@@AlbertoMartinez765 Yeah I thought he had effectively made his own mobious chair out of kryptonian tech while having studied WW and her new gods motherbox tech to create boomtubes. The main problem I had with magnus was when they both were seemingly killed off, I got Hush vibes, and they made him out to sort of be a reed richards type character with some Thomas Elliott vibes. He was way too chill about his best friend and girlfriend sharing a bond for me to not see it coming. I also know Timm is not a fan of writing villains that doesn't show up before the third act making it impossible to predict. He might have a weird Batgirl fetish hinting that she was together with Kara in college while dating Bruce, then going back to Dick. Cheating on him and becoming pregnant with Bruce which made the bat-family fall apart. But in mystery stories he wants you to be able to see it twice through a new lense.
For the record, prior to the release of this film, there were also three animated shorts following the Gods and Monsters world that introduced us individually to these renditions of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. I highly recommend watching them as well.
James Gunn is smart with taking inspiration from the DC Original Animated Movies. This was so good and the whole reversal aspect with High Father and his family taking out Darkseid during that whole wedding scene was just crazy. Getting Benjamin Bratt and Michael C. Hall to voice Kal-Zod version of Superman and Human vampire Bat/Batman was so good. Carl Lumbly voicing Lucius Fox.
You should absolutely watch the Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles shorts! The Superman one is sad like what happens with Ace from Justice League: Unlimited and features the world’s version of Brainiac.
I almost felt bad for him too. I wonder if this is before he was exposed to the omega effect. Maybe early into using the name darkseid. Cuz if this was after he became darkseid-darkseid, how did high father kill him so fast. Unless since they're both of the "new gods" race, high father was always capable of ending darkseid. Only gods can kill a god.
Really wish we could see more of this universe. Especially how an expanded Justice League would look like. Oh and also should check out the shorts for this too.
Mr Miracle actually has a couple episodes in Justice League Unlimited (from the DCAU-Bruce Timm/Paul Dini verse). Also this Lex Luthor basically bacame a Metron proxy.
In Superman and Lois there’s a flashback episode where Lois is interviewing Superman on the news and she asks how many languages he can speak and he says all of them and they’ve made it a point to show that he’s the worlds Superman. Not just the U.S. and it makes the government mad when he saves a submarine from china or North Korea or something and takes them back to their own country instead of bringing it to the U.S. for the government to study it and stuff
OK this is going to seem pretty random, but I love the idea of a vampire that wears an eye patch that has a mirror on the inside of it, so they can see behind themselves at all times.
I didn't like how this movie at first but over time I've grown to really love it. It has so many interesting concepts Superman being the son of Zod and Batman being an actual vampire its all really cool stuff. I would've loved to have gotten a sequel and seen how this version of the Justice league expanded and grew
I actually really enjoyed this film, also first time watching. I always love an elseworlds adaptation, but I love how these are very different characters rather than our normal known characters just with a slightly different origin twist. Great video!
You NEED to watch the shorts that came before this movie. If you're wondering what these characters are meant to be like, you need that context. It's ESSENTIAL viewing.

There are three bonus clips focusing on each character. Give it a watch, those came out before the movie, so that’s how we were introduced to this Justice League
