Just watched your recommendation on paint pens and now I'm here, I'm already realizing I'm in trouble because I don't open the box of my pops so I'll figure out something cause I'm a psychopath who doesn't let their pops breathe the air haha. Thanks you so much for the videos! I feel a lot more confident now getting pops autographed.
No judgment here! We have seen people take hard case suitcases into cons if they are in box collectors and have multiple pops. If we took just 3 or 4 before we started flattening them, we have a hardish case backpack we put them in, and it was manageable. 😊 Worst case, just plan to do multi days at a con if you have a ton of pops to give yourself time to go back to your car and get the others or space them between days! 😄 I'm so glad we could help.
@@Gastlecast I’ve been looking but I still feel nervous about the plane travel. Going to SDCC for the 1st time ever this year so I want to make sure I take the best precautions I can 👍
Why does your Klaw say "KLAVE"? Just curious. Thanks for the amazing tips! We don't get many cons here in Toronto so been getting prepped for FanExpo for like 5 months lol
I love that you got to meet Karen Gillen. We met her a few years ago in Toronto and since I’m Scottish we had a wee Scottish moment. Also got a photo with her. She was brilliant.
I find that the figures that have a box with a clear window look better signed on them than the ones without windows. It's an excellent choice in this case for Trejo's figure to be signed onto the figure itself. I think for now, though the trending for where to sign funko pops remains on the window.
I think the window will be the preferred spot as well but I like the autograph directly on the figure itself. It's something new and fresh to us. I might try this with a pop at some point and see how I like it.
Love the bag idea although I am pretty sure my con is clear bag so I’ll have to come up with something else. But I’m definitely taking my pop out of the box before I go.
Blick Art has the best selection of paint markers online and any store I’ve been too. Otherwise I find myself going to smoke shops get them. Fine tip Deco is my favorite for pops and broad tip Deco for posters
So when you flatten the Pop box is it easier to flatten the plastic or keep it bent? I was always worried about messing up the crease on the plastic. I made a cardboard/painters tape holder for NYCC and its been working out great for conventions since.
We've folded both ways and have never had any issues. The boxes aren't folded for long so we don't expect that you'd mess up the crease in the plastic.
Thank you. The what pen video to use was great, and now how to get the best autographs Because I want a 10-inch gizmo signature, but I always just took the pop
OK, so the video begs a question: If wanted to get our gastley boxes signed, how should we transport them. Obviously, I wouldn't be able to flatten them without damaging the boxes (yes I have more than one gastley).
Good to know i recently got my first ever signed pop and it was still a good experience for me even thought i brought the whole pop and carried it through the rest of the con but it was my first one.
I have never done the flat box method but may have to try it due to traveling across state to fan Expo Chicago don't want to carry all that weight I'm just scared that they might sign in the middle of the window 😬 ps thank you guys for everything you do love all your videos especially these tips and tricks
I carefully fold my flaps into the box it self and fold it so it even smaller. I also “break down” the box the other way so the autograph doesn’t risk going onto the side window of the box. I also bought a bunch of 8x10 top loaders for cheap off Amazon to put the flatten boxes in….getting to fit in the 8x10 top loads save ton of space for me as well! Still a molotow guy. One time I tried sharpie it exploded on me so I have permanent PTSD from sharpie paint pens lol 😂 P.S. the nebula came out awesome!!
This is actually a really handy and informative video that now makes me realise I have been doing signings like a noob 🤦🏼😂 Also I am so damn jealous you met Karen Gillan. I prefer when she talks with her Scottish accent.
I usually use 8x10 photo toploaders and fold the flaps into the box. So it fits in the toploader. It’s very light, compact and protected in the toploader
Another suggestion instead of the cardboard, is to use 11x14 Ultra Pro plastic protectors. I flatten my boxes and use these. I buy a 20 pack and put one box per protector, and then stick in a Patagonia hiking backpack. Been to several cons with this setup, so hands free and never had any damage.
I love Deco Pens, but I've been loving, Gundam pens. Same price, all fine point, dry super fast, and there regular color's to metallic. The only bad thing is that the boxes are in Japanese, and the internet doesn't help if it's water or oil base, unless checking yourself. As for the bag idea, I've been looking into it since I bring over 20 funko every Con, and it hard to wagon them in the line. The only thing I can see a small problem with is the big funko's.
One more benefit of the bag: if there's any sort of weather conditions (rain, snow, sleet, hail), the bag provides a lay of wetness protection. Omg that makes it sound like a pad to absorb liquid. Sorry, didn't mean to go there.
The idea for testing your pens on a soft protector is freaking genius. I'll definitely be using that idea. Thanks
@@Gastlecast it's brilliant 👏
Great links! Sad I'm going to miss Andy Serkis at a local con as he is only going on Sunday. Cool backpack Max!
Thanks!
I really enjoy your videos. You guys have great tips.
God bless you both ! Where’s the link to your store ?
MischiefToys.com 😊
Daaaang! Ok, I’m definitely stealing this. That’s smooth as butter babeh! Thanks for the great tips👍🏻👌🏻🤘🏻
Any time!
You have no idea how helpful this is🤣🤣🤣 Washington summer con is literally in a few days so this is definitely good timing🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥
Glad it was helpful!

This is my 2nd year going to Cons, I bought a rolling crate from amazon to haul around my pops in
What would you recommend for plane travel to protect the boxes?
A hard suitcase!
@@Gastlecast I’ve been looking but I still feel nervous about the plane travel. Going to SDCC for the 1st time ever this year so I want to make sure I take the best precautions I can 👍
@DarkSideCollects We know a lot of people who take their boxes via carry on!
What size boxes did you put in the bag?
Why does your Klaw say "KLAVE"? Just curious.

Thank you for this, I have now began to do autographed pops. I love how you two can make me laugh, it’s cool to smarten me up to.
Our pleasure!
Great recommendation! Thanks for including the link! Was just gonna ask lol.

Sick autographs! I was there all 3 days, can’t believe I missed ya’ll. So cool you got to meet Karen, her line was probably the longest one of the con
Wish we could have met up with you! Karen was great but that line was crazy!

Guys you saved our upcoming trip! Love the portfolio idea!
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
what kind of pen did you use for your autographs?
We used both Deco and Sharpie oil based, as shown in this video. 😊
Thank you. The what pen video to use was great, and now how to get the best autographs
Because I want a 10-inch gizmo signature, but I always just took the pop
I like posca markers for my decorative storage boxes nice colors and affordable
We have a couple of those and they're nice! 😊
Is there any youtooz protectors on the market? Just curious?
They come with protectors on them but second market ones? We're not sure
i just put them in a hard stack and put them in my backpack! no issues yet but this is a nice set up
:)
OK, so the video begs a question: If wanted to get our gastley boxes signed, how should we transport them. Obviously, I wouldn't be able to flatten them without damaging the boxes (yes I have more than one gastley).
Most people carry the whole box and we sign the tops. There isn't a simple way to transport :/
Good to know i recently got my first ever signed pop and it was still a good experience for me even thought i brought the whole pop and carried it through the rest of the con but it was my first one.
🥰
Such a good video! I'm meeting the actress of rosita from the walking dead next month and im defo gonna be getting those paint pens.
Awesome! We'd love to meet her one day!

Thanks! My Nebula pop is much better now with the auto!
I would be extremely careful folding inwards, it causes the edges of the box to tear at times, I've had it happen a few times unfortunately :(
This is actually a really handy and informative video that now makes me realise I have been doing signings like a noob 🤦🏼😂
Also I am so damn jealous you met Karen Gillan. I prefer when she talks with her Scottish accent.

I got that youtooz signed by Danny a couple months back I had him signed the glass tho
Sweet!
@@Gastlecast yea I’m just curious what you guys think on Molotow paint pens?
Very very helpful! thanks!
Where was this held? Congrats on all your autographs. Was that Max's first con with you guys?
Washington DC 😎 max has been to quite a few cons over the years!
How much did Serkis charge?
$130 for pops
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!

The guy in the first form shirt looks familiar
Never heard of him. 😏🤣
That bag is an awesome idea, I am always scared that the flat boxes will rub together & scratch the auto🤷🏼♂️
We have never had that issue before! But if you are worried, pack some blank white paper and put it between boxes. I think that would prevent that! 😄
Funny enough I think I’m gonna get a autograph on the 24th so which one is better marker or paint pen?
We like the sharpie fine point paint pens
Cant believe you opened them😮😮😮
Most of our pops are out of box with the exception of autographed ones! 😊
OMG I hope you didn't change your recommended paint pencils. LOL
Sharpies are still our fav!
Wooo! ❤

Did you guys buy vip passes? Or do you recommend buying the vip pass option to get pops signed?

Too much work
It really isn't. It keeps you from having to carry 10+ pops around a crowded convention if you are anything like us. 😊
