Nice to see that some folks are still using the old, reliable external frame backpacks. They breathe better than the internal frame and rucksack packs. Better organization, too!
GRAPE TANG!!!! I haven’t had that stuff since the mid 1970’s. Just the thought of that overpowering grape flavor brings back fond memories of camping and backpacking with my family as a kid. Glad to see it is still powering out door adventures 👍👏
This is what you call REAL bushcrafte camping, love the shelter..great campfire, great food with the best company 🐕 let's hope that wasn't a BEAR out there.. wishing you your beautiful PUP and your family a safe and blessed Christmas 🎉🌲🐕❤
This is great! Thank you so much for documenting and sharing your journey. One question, where did you get that mini candle lamp?? It’s so very cool. 🕯️
i like that kind of video. lots of quiet nature, forest. some campfire cooking and campfire TV. no or not much talking . . . very nice after a busy working day
Nice video mate. Great way to enjoy the outdoors. I imagine something caught the smell of that ground bison. 🥩 it did look like a very appetising meal. Probably another camper who only had a bit of trail mix and porridge oats sniffing about for a proper meal. 😆 Thanks for sharing your adventure 👍
Glad to see you out and about .Good to have plenty of Resorces for your camp. To bad about your finger. Great dog so obedient. Where is the 30 30. Thanks for sharing, stay safe.
Good to see you getting out again. What a shelter, and what a feast you cooked up! I've got an RV'ing trip coming up in the camper this week with my wife (Patagonia Lake and Roper Lake campgrounds, both in Arizona, if you're curious to look them up), but these outdoor primitive campsites sure capture me with how simple and rustic they are. It's how I used to camp, sleeping on the ground, and loving it. You sure know how to film and record how great those times can be. Maybe I'll do a pickup bed camping trip in the pines this coming summer and reminisce how great those time are. Thank you, always enjoy your outings. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
Great camping video my man. Love your dog Big strong and loyal to you. Good to be armed. You never know when a big bear is near by. Your dog growls, you ID and put it down. Top stuff. You carry on and have my support. I'm subscribing to your channel. Cheers 🥂
Great video as always, but are you really going to leave us hanging on, guessing your secret stroganoff spice mix? Comon Nicholas, spill the beans! Cheers from Bavaria
I love your quiet format, hence my sub. I found a similar channel who does car repairs like you Nicholas, Simon Fordman. What's interesting is he'll add some closed caption descriptions of what he's doing or thinking. No pressure to adopt that but if you never thought of it, perhaps you could try it. It's like getting your thoughts of that moment in that moment. Looking forward to your winter season vids as winter is here in Canada 😄
I just don’t understand why people don’t use the branches (for kindling) on the dead standing trees they cut down for firewood, and instead, split up perfectly good rounds into very small pieces. I’m not criticizing anyone. I’m just genuinely curious. I guess we all learn different ways of doing things. I started learning my woodcraft (what we called it back then in New England) skills beginning in the 1970’s. Also, we learned what was called “fire lays”. Today everyone seems to do what I’ve dubbed “fire piles” 😂
If you watch the first fire, I actually did use dead spruce branches to start that one. I changed it up in the morning just so it wasn't the same thing twice in a video. Most people (including myself) use the stacking method for making fires since its the easiest, fire piles is a good name 🤣
Use gloves at work means while cutting wood and all the work , and plzz plzz plzz don't cut a little green trees...... Just cut the dry one not the green one thay have to become a big tree one day ....this is my request ❤. ...... Love the video love the camping style 😍🥰
That's great he is getting out solo camping! I started doing it myself when I was around 15. I recommend Self Reliance Outfitters for pretty much everything, however most of my bags are just old external frame hunting packs. eBay is probably the best for those but I'm sure Self Reliance has an alternative
I like this weather, the area around the tent is beautiful, I will have a trip to enjoy like you 👍

Good girl Naomi 🐾☺️ A companion dog you can count on is worth their weight in gold out in the bush 💖 Thanks for the great time Nicholas 😁

She is a Kangal Border Collie mix, loves the snow and cold weather

Where do you get your bags and equipment because my son is in need of “upgradable gear” when he goes solo camping
