This was great. All the camera comparisons with Samsung I have been seeing this last week have almost all been about the Ultra, which is too much $ and too big for me. So the S22+ review is exactly what I was looking for!
S22+ has won the photography, handled the bokeh/portrait mode, the glare of light source, & be better at night. Iphone 13 pro has won the videography, slightly better stable.

The s22 looks good :) Sure it doesnt have the crazy zoom of the Ultra but other than that, the camera seems pretty equal. And even for video it has many upsides, only the sharpness is better on the iPhones video. A battery test of the + would be interessting for me

More so because you can tweak both ti improve or change them to the colour science you prefer. I heard that the S22+ will not be getting the RAW app coming to the Ultra line which is a shame and maybe the ProRAW on the iPhone 13 Pro is a slight advantage. In the UK the iPhone 13 Pro Max can now be bought at a similar price to the S22+ though you get some freebies with the Samsung, none of them interest me as I already have them. That again makes little difference to the camera, though I prefer the bigger Max and better battery life.
What about macro? Samsung's main camera can take picture in much closer distance compared to ip 13P which using it's ultrawide camera as macro lense. The samsung's background blur should look better
s22 ultra is a fairy tale, I received it today and I must say the photos are something extraordinary. comoletamente in the dark can understand the whole scene .. and is not yet optimized
I have a regular s21 and I love my phone. But the thing that makes me want to switch back to iphones is that it is not compatible with ios imessages. And seems like 80% of my friends use iphones, so everytime they send me a picture or video through regular text it looks like im back in the early 2000s receiving a picture sent from a flip phone.... super annoying.
i call it a draw, but i ave gone for ths s22 ultra, i love the Samsung smart phones for years and hate the apple world, i hate to be a prisoner of an eco-system.

In India, Iphone 13 Pro costs around 250 USD more than S22+ . S22+ is clearly having better cameras and better value for money according to me. Samsung has done an incredible job.
We also need your feedback on accuracy of colors in those photos, and why not on colors you see on the phone display itself. I'm not interested in what colors you like more, but in which camera takes more true to life pictures with accurate colors. For this you need to compare the photos on a computer with a calibrated display (calibration can be done with a cheap device like x-rite idisplay pro). This will take your comparisons to the next level of pro reviews with a minimum investment. 😉

Thanks for doing this. I have to get a new phone and my bf recently got an iphone 13 and his photos are amazing, but I just don't like the OS, so I was leaning towards the samsung. I guess it's just a tradeoff. The S22+ will still be better than my S20+ was.
The phones are an a similiar level. It's really hard to see a clear winner. S22+ do more brighter pics and a bit better in low light situations - especially when taking shots of neon signs. Otherwise the darker shots of the iPhone allow you to immerse yourself in the special atmosphere - thinking of rainy autumn scenes in landscapes. The video section goes to he iPhone. But saying there is a clear winner by miles - well that's just fanboy attitude by guys who always praise their favorite company brands. That's why I like your unbiased reviews. Thx.
Although I really really hate to admit it, the iPhone takes much better portrait photo. It has better skin tone color, higher detail, and it has that "wow" factor that it look like it's from a professional photo shoot. The edge detection is not as good, but I can't really tell until u point it out
I'm getting a S22+ this week, so I'm really excited to go take pics with the camera (my current is a huaweii p20 pro which I've had a long time, so I'm excited to see the difference)

Try doing a real comparison, the Iphone 13 pro and Pro max have identical camera systems, where as the S22 Plus and the S22 ultra have different cameras, to be fair, you needed to compare the S22 Ultra to the Iphone Pro.

I saw the s22 plus yesterday at the store and checked the expert raw in galaxy store, it was available to download.
