Oil and Coolant Leaks from my e39 M5

  • After pulling my intake CPS sensors and finding that they had no seal -- missing the o-rings -- I carefully placed o-rings on them and expected my oil issue to be resolved. I started the car to test for oil leaks and instead found a massive coolant leak from the back of the engine block.

    Although that piece broke off could it be the seals for the thermostat housing between the V and its leaking to the back of the motor?

      Yes, the o-rings behind the thermostat are always suspect, but that was not so in my case.

    That's not good. You just had a major rebuild less that a year ago. Did Partee make a mistake?

      No, I don't think so. But I'm not certain how this happened. Either way, Partee Racing sent me a new coolant blockoff plate for free and properly installing it resolved my issue.
