360p is the resolution of a lot of old-net era videos I have downloaded. 480p is the resolution of DVDs. Looks pretty good. A marked improvement above 360 and lower. Depending on compression, encoding, and frame-rate, this can look really nice for just about anything. 640p feels like another marked improvement. The video still has some minor issues though. (like the banding on the wooden steps) 900p is the first resolution to remove the banding on the steps, but is a bit of a rare resolution. (And TH-cam doesn't natively support it. Upload in 900p and they'll bump it down most likely to 720) 1080p looks really nice. IMHO best trade-off between quality and file-size. No surprise the most popular physical media (Blu-ray) uses this res. IMHO 1440 + is only really beneficial on YT for 2 reasons: for desktop users with large monitors that go that high, and people wishing to download YT videos with as little crappy compression as possible. Otherwise (especially gameplay footage that's 60fps +) I generally stick to 1080 and below. I guess, similar to the OP here, I could always render my videos in a lower resolution (like my oldest videos, which are 480p) at 1080 perfectly upscaled - that way TH-cam doesn't jack it all up, and it looks similar to how it does on my end, regardless of viewing source. (mobile, tablet, laptop, desktop, tv, etc.)

Frankly there's not so much difference starting from 720p aside from the background and far away objects. The higher the resolution the clearer they are aside from everything is the same and acceptable starting 720p

Yeah i know i couldn't find any better way to do it then
Its not 144p
There should always be analog and digital enhanced-definition television, video, radio and audio from as to most.
Legends watching this video in 144p
I watched the whole video with 144p and holy moly it’s disgusting then it looks super smooth when you turn it to 1080
2160p is smoother
Frankly there's not so much difference starting from 720p aside from the background and far away objects. The higher the resolution the clearer they are aside from everything is the same and acceptable starting 720p
WTF??? You Put it to 1080p in the first start of the Video. Its weird AF!!! I think 144p for the 144p is much ore normal and smoother. Compared to the 1080p res for the 144p.... Its a Shame. Just pixels OMFG
8K version of the video is probably still processing on the youtube side...
2K-1440P
4K-2160P
8K-4320P
I watched this whole video at 144p, all i can say is that the start wasnt 144p because when it started showing 240p it seemed better even tough i allredy was on 144p.
240p is actually better looking than 360p

K: Means Kilo (×1000).
But it's not work if you still watching this video at 144 p or 240 p🤣🙃🤣🤣🤣
The difference between 144 and 240 is massive
…. meanwhile I watched this at 1080 on you tube, I'm confused as to how above 1080 is relevant here?
I can tell you why, it's not possibale to Wach 4K on a smartphone or iPad and i promise the video is higer quality🙂
Watching this at 2k while wearing my glasses is absolutely stunning
We all know that 144p is the best quality

@@buddy1337 is 720p look good on 6 inch phone

In English:
On which video camera and under what settings was this video shot?
What is the true resolution and number of frames of a video fragment without software interpolation?
What is the bitrate? On what medium was the video written? What kind of lens?
This is as important as the resolution. I would even say a little more informative.
Putting 4k in 480p looks like HD
240p looks like a video from 2010
Me watching this in 1080p:
Lol TH-cam compressed the hell outta that @2:31
