    The same kind of clips used to attach the rail to concrete ties. The Boston MBTA Red Line utilizes the same thing, instead of ties, there are large concrete pads set onto the tunnel floor. The rails attach to that.

      @@richardlangellotti6208I've seen concrete ties, i have seen what your describing, a few times, but didn't remember that, I only have wood ties in my area. So definitely cool when I see different things, appreciate this comment and you watching

    Metal ties, hadn't seen that before. When I saw the grey I assumed concrete. I assume the pad under the rail and on the clip is for sound and vibration reduction?

    • @TriGogglin
      @TriGogglin  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've only seen these in videos, so was cool to see in person. I've seen concrete as well. But I'm think what you are, and also maybe an insulation to prevent metal to metal for maybe signals or crossing gates. If they touched then both rails would be connected electrically. But just a guess, appreciate you watching

    Very interesting Pappy, I’ve never personally seen them myself, yet…Im not sure how they will stand the test of time, they definitely gotta be more expensive than wood you would think? Love videos like this, thanks for sharing Pappy 👍🏼🇺🇸😁

      Hi ya Stretch, I've seen video after video of steel ties, but this is the first ive seen in person, their pretty cool, checking around the web, I found some articles saying they are cheaper to produce than wood, and they been used for a long time, but as far as out lasting wood ones, can't find that info. Glad you enjoyed it. Always live sharing new stuff with ya.. hope your weekend is good

      Wow, they gotta be heavy. Ain’t gonna change one of those out with muscle. Steel is 640 pounds/cubic foot? Gotta be 3 cubic feet of material there.

      @@russbell6418 they are stamped or pressed into that shape, and they were about maybe a little over 1/4 inch thick. But yeah I'm sure their heavy. Appreciate you watching
