I swear samee!!!!! He kept talking there explaining his thoughts about the book while I was still processing the whole Paris living thing. I live for this Jack kind of chaos.
video idea: reading books set in paris and then exploring the places that are mentioned, to get an idea of the city and discover new places That‘s something i have done on a few trips and i think it would be a cool way to discover paris! :D
Sir, got that good Parisian lighting. Also, is Jack the only bookworm/literature degree holder who has lived in London, followed by Paris, but doesnt like A Tale of Two Cities?
@@jack_in_the_books I'm sure whatever you come up with will be more than appropriate. Pull a proper Emily in Paris, but, you know, not absolutely horrible.
Jack you must go to Shakespeare and Company pick up a copy of Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast, buy yourself something at a patisserie and sit down and have a café au lait near the river Seine immediately. When you’re done reading it for the day enjoy the city and the gardens my favorite was Jardin du Luxembourg. At the end of the day go back to your flat and pour yourself a cold dry martini 🍸
not me moving from Paris to Camden in October to now find out that Jack just did the opposite 😫 so cute, so glad we are lucky enough to follow you around and grow together x
my polish heart could not overlook your polish poster of the last tango in paris. when i tell you my heart skipped a beat when i saw it i am not exaggerating.
I was just in Paris and my fave spot was the Shakespeare book company, that would make such a good vlog, especially since its right next to the Seine. You could buy a book, some wine and go read by the river!
omg I have an empty jar and a bookshelf overflowing w/ books i’ve bought but never read…now I know what i’m gonna do to continue procrastinating on my schoolwork lmao
I swear I automatically smile when jack giggles while talking🤭 and that’s something i never noticed but my friend did... and told me.. errmmm so thanks jack for making me smile🧡
idk why you have polish posters in the background, but I love it. The Mazowsze one with poppies is one of my favourites ever and it represents polish fields so beautifully
Ok Parisian bookworms, I know everyone is recommending Shakespeare and company because of course, it’s legendary and beautiful but also, what about the Abbey Bookshop? It’s actually not very far from Shakespeare&co, it’s a Canadian bookshop that sells second hand books mostly and it looks tiny on the outside but has SO MANY BOOKS I swear. Oh and the owner is super nice and has a big pot of coffee if you want some
This was such a great idea for someone like me who can't pick what to read and then ends up not reading anything at all. Definitely making a TBR jar for myself!!
I WAS THINKING OF DOING THIS YESTERDAY!! Literally, I have a jar of reminders for myself on why I like myself and since I hadn't needed to use it in like a few years, I wanted to convert it to something else 😭
On the topic of “No one is talking about this”, did anyone else see the fly at 5:10 almost bumping into Jack’s head? I can’t believe a french fly really made an appearance on this channel before me being mentioned in one of Jack’s insta stories 😭😭 buzz on fly friend.
This is such a nice idea! The StoryGraph does something similar by displaying 4 random(or not random?) books from your TBR every time you open their home page. That as well as the reading challenges are my favourite parts of the website. Also the 'did not finish' option.
This video was just about made for me. This is exactly what I’ve been doing for years honestly. Coming up with little personalized ways of making easier ways of choosing my next fun thing to do. Back in the 2020 summer, I hand made a “Bookopoly” board which is one of my proudest projects in years, honestly, and recently, I’ve started compiling my loooong lists of things to watch and read and play to write physical (on paper) lists with numbers where I’m going to start rolling one (or two) of my many dnd dice that I’m so in love with and attached to, and watch whatever is listed as the number I get, while crossing them out as I go through it :)
Are there any genres you think you haven’t branched out into as much yet or isn’t something you’d necessarily say is in your preferred reading comfort zone?
ah watching you grow and bloom in your life feels so good.. .. I feel like a proud brother ngl hhaha🤧, anyways love ya and good luck on this new chapter of your life🌼✨🧡
What a fun idea!!! I tried the same method at the beginning of the year but stopped doing it after 3 months. And OMG congrats living in paris !!! Truly amazing !!!
Expensive but the best English books catalogue and of course Shakespeare and Co! Galignani in Rivoli also has the entire back of the store filled with English books!!! My temples during quarentene last year 📚
@@ariannelg Oh yes, Shakespeare and Co is awesome, I’m sure Jack would love it there! I had no idea Galignani had English books, I must go and investigate! Smith and Sons has a café on the top floor that is fun to sit and read in!
@@louisacoote2337 I found out about galignani before smith and sons because they were closed doing renovations in 2020! It’s a big selection in 2 floors! Go check it out if you have the chance :)
I LOVED the idea of a TBR JAR, it is exacly what I needed! Thanks Jack!! ps: by the way, I also loved the song you put on the video, it sounds like Bossa Nova, a 50/60's musical movement we had in Brasil.
This is such a good idea! I will wait till January to make my jar though because I might not complete my Goodreads challenge if I read more 500+ page books this year. 📚
hey jack, was wondering if you would make a video on how you moved, how it felt etc would love to watch since i’m interested in moving in the coming years, loved this video btw!
I've been buying books nonstop to compensate for my lack of reading lol now I can't decide what I want to read. Thank you for this wonderful idea, Jack. I will create my tbr jar after watching your video :>
I full on laughed out loud when you described Girl Online and Adultolescence as classics, and Charlotte Bronte and Oscar Wilde as lesser known authors 😂😂👏👏 I'm moving house this week, so thank you for that!

Both classics and contemporary

can we talk about Jack’s Paris apartment????? Like it’s SO beautiful. The Eiffel Tower butt print in the back??

plot twist: jack’s tbr jar only contained the book “no one is talking about this”
😂
I love how Jack is so enthusiastic about his sponsorships
now that you´re in Paris you are basically obliged to make a Paris bookshop tour (Shakespeare and Company, la Hune, librairie du marais)
