    one of the greatest lessons I have learned this past year is that *happiness is an inside job. You choose to be happy now, not letting the outside circumstances dictate your mood. I choose not to give that power away anymore. It is in my power. I have it. I hold it. I wield it and I use it. :-)*

    1. Count your blessings : I love to keep this page on my bullet journal called "month highlights" where i write the best parts and it makes me feel so grateful right away!
    2. Move your body: i've recently discovered that i love running so it's been a great way to help me deal with stress.
    3. Surround yourself with inspiration: i try to keep myself inspired by the people around me, especially my classmates and my two best friends.
    4. Take care of yourself: allowing myself to make mistakes and take up the space i deserve is key (also learning not to take everyone's shit)
    5. Be authentic: i try and fight my insecure inner voice and laugh out loud when i feel like it, or angry, sad...

    SIS YES!!!!!!! This is exactly what ive been going through lately, im learning to love myself after all these years of self doubt. Because i realized i have everything that i need inside, deep down i know who i am, and i am just starting to actually follow my gut and ive never felt this way before. im gonna watch this again whenever i forget

    I have anxiety, and in the morning it’s gets especially bad, so I made it a goal to wake up early today and finish some homework. I woke up and finished my homework and instead of going back to sleep decided to watch some videos and make coffee and breakfast. Then I go to TH-cam and you pop in my feed and your video title was just so perfect because I’ve been struggling lately. You help so many people and I just wanted to say thank you for helping me start my morning off right. ❤️❤️❤️

    My best friends girlfriend passed away on Friday the 29th. I'm broken and she was such an amazing and beautiful young woman she was 23. Finding it hard to keep going. But I know she would want us to keep going and be happy. So this video is such a help to remind me that I'm so lucky to have my life. 💕

    I believe in where your focus goes your energy flows...when I stop focusing on toxic people, relationships and/or situations...it goes away......ie I was being bullied at work...once I stopped my focus on that person and the situation it went away...it stopped....I try to be mindful of staying positive being positive in all situations...your mindset definetly has an overall affect on your happiness....being in the present living in the now plays a huge part in your overall happiness and health.

    My formula: write down a new gratitude list (even though I've probably already made one that morning, sometimes we just gotta do more), make coffee + watch your latest video while I think about what I'm going to do when it goes off to make the day better, which usually be doing yoga, cleaning my space, or practicing violin. But, ALWAYS watching your videos are a crucial part of my "get it together" routine

    I see friends out there having difficulties and as a consequence at this time taking control over over their own affairs, you feel that you are not about to be in a position to become empowered when you find yourself not ready to generate the choice that sets you free. The thing is that the choices in life we make are positively or perhaps unfavourably reinforcing our behaviours together with our lives.

    Thank you for that. The simplicity of it is what makes it so encouragingly doable, and that’s the brilliance and lightness of it, making it a great deal more easier to implement when you’re feeling down or low, and want to help yourself back up on the horse and regain the ability to begin laying down a steadying foundation to creating daily, achievable happiness.
    A nightly walk under the moonlit-starlit sky definitely has a way of reminding us of the great magnificence of the expanse we live in, and of our cosmic origins and interconnectedness to all of nature. Lunar energy also has a way of imbuing us with the energy of the Divine Feminine, and it’s cooling nature is very calming and balancing. This also contributes to better quality and restful sleep.
    Also a walk an hour after dinner really helps with the digestive process, so by the time we turn in for the night, it ensures our food has been fully digested and assimilated. (It’s very counterproductive to go to sleep when all your food hasn’t been completely digested; over time, such a counterproductive habit would lead to health complications).
    Glad to have come across your video. Glad it carries such an inspiring message and that you made it it easily actionable and practical, which makes it empowering for those who follow it through into action as part of their daily routine. What you’re doing is wonderful. Keep shining and illuminating :)

    I actually paused this when you talked about going outside, and went for a sunset walk. It was wonderful. Then I went to bed, and I didn't have time to watch the rest until now, a day later, because I've been outside all day. Firstly because I went for a run, and after that because I spent the day on the beach with my friends. All of this is what I want to do everyday, which I knew before, but needed a reminder for. Thank you!

    This reminds me of doing the happiness challenge; where you find something within your day that makes you happy over 100 days. Did it over FB but I have had friends do it on insta as well :)

    This is the formula I've been trying to integrate (still figuring out which parts work for me & which don't):
    1. For counting my blessings - doing a gratitude meditation each morning
    2. For moving my body - yoga every morning before either strength training in the gym on Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings, or cardio either at the gym or running on one of the forest trails near my house on Tuesday/Thursday mornings
    3. For surrounding myself with inspiration - decluttering my room (especially my wardrobe) and putting a new organisation system in place to make it cleaner, clearer and easier to navigate
    4. For taking care of myself - walking on one of the forest trails near my house after dinner each night and reflecting on the day
    5. For being authentic - taking the time to pursue my passion project of writing a novel

    💛 Watching your videos puts me in a good mental space. You REALLY encourage me to be a better woman & to really focus on me & my life. I haven't gotten to your level but I'm getting there starting with journaling, yoga, meditation & alone time. I really need to increase my water intake, cut off anything that doesnt benefit me & excerise more instead of starting & stopping for months. I've watched all your videos & tried to create my own lifestyle around it. Im in a relationship but I still watch your how to be single video so I'm not dependent. You are who I would love to be like; I look up to you & if I could ever meet you & be life long friends I know my life would sky rocket & I'd be the best me because I know I have someone in my corner that actually means well in my life. 💛 I want to thank you for tgese videos & being yourself.     Ive definitely been struggling with overthinking and it’s been taking away from my happiness from my relationship, my life, my job. But when I actually think about it my boyfriend is amazing, my life is so blessed & my job pays me great and it’s sweet. I tend to find a negatives in positives and that’s something I’m definitely overcoming

    1. Count your blessings: I actually just do it when I´m in a bad mood, on a walk in the forest 2. Move your body: go to the gym 2 times a week and ride my bike 5 days a week 3. Surround yourself with inspiration: declutter, have a clean room, read and souround my self with inspirational people 4. Take care of yourself: full pamper routine is key or sometimes a movie night with friends 5. Be authentic: just always try to be de best me and remember how I want to be and how to react properly in most situations

    Redundant = no longer useful or needed. It doesn’t mean ‘obvious’!
    Eg: My opinion on who should be the next President is redundant now that the general election has passed.😊
    I’m so impressed by the way you manage to talk so fluently at such length without any umms or uhhs or stumbles and without reading from notes. You would make an excellent public speaker!
    I completely agree that exercise is the best cure for feelings of nervousness or anxiety. I always say: just try doing a huge run and see if you can still feel nervous after that! It’s also great for low mood because it releases all those endorphins. All great points, however ‘obvious’ 😉 they may seem to you because we all need reminding sometimes! And I’m sure most ppl will come away from this video feeling happier and lighter just from seeing YOU! I too think that noticing and appreciating the small things in life is crucially important. However small they might be, if we can focus on as many as possible, we’ll soon find enough of them in to quickly brighten our mood. 😊
    Like you, I love taking my dog Misha out for a walk before bed. It’s lovely to walk outside at night (at least when it’s dry and not too cold!) and I find it a really pleasant part of my night-time routine. Just like you, I am most grateful for my dog, his health, his licks and cuddles and constantly waggy tail, the millions of little things he does that make me smile or laugh. He even cracks me up when he’s being naughty - so much so that I find it really hard to keep a straight face when I’m trying to tell him off! Thank you, Kalyn for reminding me to be constantly grateful for my precious baby boy! 😊
    I think my favourite line from this video has to be ‘Go outside and be a mammal!’ I’m going to remember that one for a long time! 🤣

    I so needed this video. I just returned to work about a month ago, so life has been pretty busy and I've just now had a chance to catch up on some of your videos.     Wow... Kalyn... The job and living situation part of the video, brought tears to my eyes because it is what I am going through right now. On the outside, to everyone else, I have everything someone my age would love to have... but I still can't find my happy. But this really helped, and brought a different perspective into my world. It's my 23rd birthday, and I am so glad I am starting my 23rd chapter knowing that I can find my happy, with these few steps. Thank you for the video xoxo

I’ve been going to therapy and started meditating and loving myself more and all of this is just how I’m trying to live my life right now.     I love that you mentioned what you surround yourself with in terms of social media. We can really curate what we see online and that can be great if you are watching motivational and inspirational things but it can also lead people to get stuck in echo chambers of ideas so while we want to try to watch amazing people like yourself sometimes it’s also good to watch or listen to things that challenge our ideas as it can also help us grow 😊

    You should read the book "Happy at Last" by Richard O'Connor. He talks about consumerist society and the hedonic treadmill; it is hard to be happy when society teaches us to constantly want more. He also talks about the benefits of meditation and gratitude journaling. He writes about how you have to train your brain to become happy, how will power is a skill that you can learn.

    I am a junior in hs and I recently moved to a new school because of something that happened at my old one. I used to be extroverted and always described myself as such, but now I realize that I am the exact opposite. I also have really bad anxiety and I do not handle stress very well. Now I have to make new friends but I'm too scared to put myself out there because everyone else has already been developing their friend groups for years and I'm not sure where I fit. (also I've been crushing on someone pretty hard for months but I still can't find the courage to talk to him.) I'm also scared that if I don't do anything soon that I'm going to miss out on the best years of my life. Kalyn, if you happen to see this comment, please give me some advice! Love you! 💜
