Do you mind making another video detailing how you feel about it after 100 days of use. I want the Instinct 2X solar over other watches for almost all the reasons that you've stated, I also want it primarily for running.
Wait you can't hear the alert sounds? I thought they were pretty loud. And the vibration is insanely strong. I guess if you had the vibration turned off it might be easy to miss an alarm. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper so I need vibration on.
I bought this watch in the beginning of July and I love it. For hiking, trekking it works perfectly. I switched the notifications off too, just like you, I don't need them. :D You say, it's a big watch and you don't get, why Garmin likes to make so big watches. I think the reason is the battery life. for that 50% extra (compared to the instinct 2 ) they needed the bigger size. Btw, I always hear people complaining about the size of it and this was the reason I almost didn't buy this watch....I would have regretted it. I have a super thin wrist. Almost the smallest size that this watch can still fit on but I don't care. It's still comfortable and works perfectly. I didn't buy it to look cool, but because I needed the features it has.
@@andrass.2842 Having the bigger battery is definitely a plus. It is a big boy though. It's not as big as some of the g-shocks I've seen (thank god), but I'm used to wearing a Seiko SKX007, which is only 42.5mm, so this was a big change for me. I've also gotten several comments of people noticing how big my watch is lol. I have got used to it now though, and I kind of like it! It's big, but I wouldn't consider it a negative now.
@@aakelly20 I read that Garmin IQ reduces the battery life of the watch, so I didn't bother downloading it. I also heard that it can slow it down, but I don't know if that's true. I like the default watch face the most anyways. I have the moon phase in the top right, then heart rate, weather, battery life, time, and date. I like that I can check the temperature at a glance, it's super practical.
not sure it's the best. 4 some reason alarm volume is waaaay higher on 2 than on 2X. and the screen is somewhat lighter on 2 than on 2X. but the battery life is waaaaay better on 2X. and it has gyro (not sure how it makes it better, tho). and 2X has tide glance (4 special category of pplz).
I have a Fossil gen6 and the only reason I want a Garmin is because of the battery, I hate this crap that only gives a 5 hour track, otherwise Garmin makes very ugly products, They give the impression of being from another era, of carrying obsolete equipment.
@@juancgomez noooo waaayy, I really like the look of the instinct line haha. Granted I really like the rugged g-shock aesthetic. I think the Garmin Fenix might be slightly prettier objectively, but I couldn't handle the weight of that thing. It would be like carrying a brick on my wrist. Though I hate the look of most smart watches admittedly, especially the Apple Watch, Garmin Forerunner series, or Coros watches. They look like cheap plastic toys. That's just my feeling though.
@@captainmike3557 brother I wasn't paid a single dime to make this video. I've owned Seiko, Tissot, G-Shock, it doesn't feel cheap at all. Apple Watches feel cheap. Casios feel cheap (because they are). This feels like a rugged outdoors watch.
Its bad looking ,cheap made , terrible low quality plastic crap with cheap solar charge. Maybe you like cheap crap, its your choice. But dont say it is best watch. Wake up ,you have been robbed paying so much for this sh...t
Honestly, the mono chrome screen and old school with true ruggedness and excellent battery life and accurate heart rate tracking makes me love this watch over the competition.
I just got an Instinct 2X Solar, looking forward to the experience
Just bought mine. Going from 5xS.
I loved this watch too and I was so close buying it but the only thing stopped me buying is you can’t have pace alerts on pool swim
As a big guy, I am very happy they make a 51mm watch. It's perfect size for me
@@Tmacademia fair enough! I have average size 7 inch wrists and I feel like I can just pull it off. It's good they make watches for the bigger lads.

Any concerns with the composite back irritation on your wrist?
I’m absolutely amazed you can hear the alert sounds/alarms….ive been using the watch for a year now and that’s the major problem for me.

@@basedtom1 vibration all good. Literally every review opinion about the 2X picks up on the tiny alert sound.
