How to Fish Muddy Water

- During the spring time its very likely that you will have to catch fish in very muddy water. Early season rains can make fishing a little tricky. In this video I break down my approach to fishing muddy water.

Thanks for the help man the ponds are so much cleaner than the rivers near me I used to tear their butts up in the ponds. I recently bought a boat and nothing I normally use is working for me lol thanks for the help

Facing this now...awesome video ..almost unbelievable sometimes ...would of never guessed to fish that shallow in 48 degree water temps..crazy. spinner bait in a spot that's flooded off a cove, not usually much water there, but was a lot of stumps..good time. Not many bites but save the day

something to think about too is in muddy water odds are the water level has risen and fish head to the flooded areas. Ive found that flooded areas load up pretty quick and bass can be found holding around brush and any other flooded structure.

Sound good to me.... sorta works that way with crappie also....I use BIG jigs shallow but probably not as shallow as you are fishn for those "other fish"😁.... keep those vids coming👍👍👍

Obvious elementary question for you, how can a bass be aware of seasonal color change (craws) in prey, subtle movement differences with water temp and still not see a big hook? Ive been a sub to your channel for awhile now and in my opinion you're top 3 compared to other fishing instructional channels. You're an excellent communicator with a knack for "dumbing it down" so people like me can comprehend. Keep it up BLat. Good luck this season.

I primarily fish waters that are muddy year round. I think it's easier. That's a different topic though. Even naturally muddy rivers and lakes do better with extra visibility.

Have you tried running your swimbait upside down on a chatterbait? I've heard the water movement from the chatterbait will give the tail alot more movement upside down.

Great video Brian... does this apply to fall presentations too? I’ve been finesse fishing drop shot/wacky Senko on muddy river. Fall transition here in Illinois has been tough. Water still at 75 degrees.

Do use a different technique when your fishing largemouth bass over smallmouth.location.water temp.lures.
When do you choose a chatterbait over a spinnerbait...and vice versa?

Sounds kinda windy. If thev wives blowing from the west the fish bite the best if its blowing from the east they bite the least if it's blowing from the south you get them in the mouth. My grandpas old saying.

Color give me confident to fish it more. Why not use pink,green,yellow? It's all personal preference in muddy water, my go to in murky water is white or blk/blue
in muddy water there is no light so color is irrelevant.

Sorry guys. I've seen and heard alot about catching fish in muddy water. Some say use bright colors. Solid colors. Sound. The fact remains haven't seen fish caught in muddy water. I don't believe it.
Well, I've fished many tournaments in muddy water. Let me tell ya - the weigh ins always have many folks with 5 fish limits.

these baits dont work, i bought every one of these dam baits and been fishing them in muddy lake eufaula now for 2 months from a bass boat and i have not caught not 1 dam fish, not 1 on any of them.
