Getting one for Christmas! Last year my wife bought me the CA-53 which (okay close enough to my CA-50) that I owned and LOVED as a kid (and it turns out I love just as much now). The DBC-610 was my dream watch. Like you I had a school friend who owned one and I was so in love with it, but couldn’t afford it. This 611 may be a shadow (nice way of putting it btw) but like you, I don’t care. The joy it brings is almost palpable. Even looking forward to Christmas like a kid at this point! 🤷🏻♂️😂😁Thanks for the great video.
As an owner of the original it appears to me to be near perfect. The light is what convinced me. Very little, if any compromise. The keypad is exact, for sure, which is incredible.
5 alarms! Could use 2 of them for appt/schedule i think if you work it just right. Alarm 4 for a doctor and alarm4 as a "phone number" with a date attached to it. For example 04 21 2023. So many possibilities.
I wish Casio would have put the alphanumeric keyboard on it. (like the original version) Either way... I still bought this! And I've gotten quite a bit of attention when wearing this.
They are all fake, Casio do not and have not manufactured these for decades. Unless you buy a used one that was made in Japan, but they will cost 4 times the amount. Try buying this watch directly from Casio.

In 610 it was possible to attach a text to the alarm.

Is that really the same size as the original? I had the black one in the 80's but that looks slightly smaller.
Yes, it’s the same size. I’m a relatively big dude so maybe that’s why it looks small?
I think this is the only Casio calculator watch I could buy.
This is the one that I ever wanted. The CA 53 ‘Back to the Future’ one may be more iconic but this one has way more features - and a backlight!
