Oh boi, i waited for this. I think back in high school we downloaded this replay to see how the pros played. NaDa and Yellow, thoose were the names back than, such a nostalgia. And whoever requested this on patreon god bless you!
May 20th 2001 is 4 months and 10 days after I was born. I remember watching my dad play this when I was 4 or 5 and even played some myself before he took the disc away and I couldn't really play again until the remaster. I so wish we had an option to use the OG graphics so I can at least pretend. Great video Falcon, looking forward to more
You know it's funny, a buddy of mine recently got back into Brood War and I grew up on it, so you know, nostalgia. It's funny, as I got to watching your channel it became addictive seeing the massive skill leap, and now people are making videos about how SC2 is dying, but Brood War is flourishing again thanks to the fanbase. Then you post this and it shows how this game was a flawed masterpiece, and it's the flaws that actually created "balance" and the depth of skill required. Imagine if Dragoons had perfect pathing, especially around each other. The clunkiness and the clumsiness of certain units made this game difficult to be good.
SC2 is just a badly designed game. It's super polished and smooth but the core design was "iterate on BW" and it... didn't. The identity of SC2 is giant blobs of things. Everything is a mess. Unit control is so hard - I have an easier time in SC1 purely cause of less blob-y and I'm a trash player. BW genuinely feels like someone had a concept in their head when they designed the gameplay and modern BW is the very fast & skilled execution of that concept. SC2 tried to "help" the player along but foresook good design in that endeavor. Just look at the basic unit design: Zerg has no t1 ranged, protoss has no t1 tank, and Terran has both. Clearly an attempt to engineer diversity of play but as a core concept... who designs an army WITHOUT key roles?! It's like not issuing automatic weapons for thematic reasons; ofc your army will fall apart if it's designed around key weaknesses. Basically SC2 is too "smart" in its design and too slick in its execution, and in doing so misses what makes RTSes fun. Crisp control & perfect assymetry a good strategy game does not make. Very few devs seem to realize this though, even if it's wildly obvious - the most popular RTS designs are slight assymetries with lots of complexity throgh basic actions (i.e. tactics, positioning, unit control) with a dash of variety through abilities, not EVERY SINGLE UNIT needs a cute gimmick that makes it super killy in the right circumstance. It doesn't look as good in the design document when battles boil down to "well, two guys shoot at each other" 99% of the time (excepting siege & caster units) but it sure plays better.
oh so this is the Yellow one you are talking about, and he/she/they are playing ZERG! Fitting name and please tell me the Zerg COLOR might be yellow before I play, lol. Awesome, thanks Falcon. And yeah, retro, was playing then too and aaaaah the nostalgia, memories, lol. And NADA, who we have not seen much at ALL from lately, glad to see here. Peace. 🌟😊👍✊🎇💖🤜..➡
lol, a stomping, dominance by one, won't say whom and RIGHT, Yellow IS blue, hahaha. Good match, feel sorry for one player I guess, again, won't say which.
Hi falcon, first thanks to you for casting, second, I am sorry for what I have done for my mother and sister, third I am sorry for what I have done to that child and what I have done to his ass, fourth I am sorry for what I have said on my teacher, fifth I am sorry for what I have done to my uncle daughter.i hope that you will forgive me falcon, but didi did you asked yourself about why did I done that, let me tell you about something you don't know about my life,I will tell you just ask them about a girl called aghaby and thanks ,bye
This reminds me when I would play at least 20 games a day and then a friend who barely knew what the buildings were called would challenge me and say "don't take it easy on me".... like these two seem to be on vastly different skill levels
Back in the days, rushing drop was mandatory for protoss or zerg on Lost temple (or its variants) because once the terran gets a foothold on your high ground it is pretty much gg.
it's the microwave again, lol, a wild microwave appears, lol, and eye, old up and down screen arrows lol, top, bottom, and talking Terran head, hahaha classic, and oh god yes the nostalgia, haha. cheers and thx dude :)

Press F5 and you enable OG graphics
why did your dad take the disc away?
@@Nautules83 He and my mom figured my brother and I (8/7 at the time) shouldn't be playing games with as much blood and gore as Starcraft and Diablo
Love the OG replays

I guess this was before gg lol
there was an attempt of a drop from terran in the middle of the game, that zerg brutally shut down :)
The microwave is back 😊

13:31 the hydras are chasing the drop ship, which disappears a few seconds later on the mini map without achieving anything 😂
In this video, the zerg is simply mocking a weak terran )))
