It took me a second to realize that not only does Boxer hide his nuke silo with his engineering bay, he parks his science vessel over the covert ops.
ill let ya know the back story to this game! boxer was on bnet and in ladder challenges and that newb was running his mouth etc etc, so boxer intentionally went quick nukes and did that humiliating strat lol, i was supposed to observe it but the spots filled, this was the two observer LT map and the other two had to lift off if over 4 observers, St^.~Pyscho..!!, Last~Sa!nt, i used to be top 100 ladder all the time, this was a raging hoot on bnet that day and he logged off quickly lol
People in LC would invite others to join a replay viewing of this game. I saw it about 3 times myself. I think this was shortly before WCG when he beat Elky and revealed the goliath/dropship micro, which brought out the Micro Wars UMS maps. Good times.
This makes sense, I was gonna say that protoss has no clue what he's doing, whether this game was in 2002, 2018, or 31 years after the birth of Christ. lol
Yeah I saw Protoss was under 30 supply at 8 minutes in and I was thinking "there was no way this was ever accepted at the highest level, right?"

A nuke deals max(500, 2 * max_hp / 3) damage. That is why EMP + nuke was enough to destroy a Nexus. EPM took away 750 shield hp, leaving 750 "green" hp. The remaining 750 was half of the total, therefore inferior to 2/3.

You're fulll of crap and you just don't understand mathematics or language it seems. Nothing is ''50% immune to nuke'' but some buildings can withstand one nuke.
02:36 Simple, there were 4 pre-designated player slots and 4 pre-designated observer slots and you couldn't modify UMS in game, so 2 observers would have to be players who lift off

Boxer was the OG. He showed so many people what this game could be, and what an esport could be.
Not your best cast. You missed the first nuke. This was one of the most iconic BW games of all time.

I think he means you only noticed the drop after the nuke launch announcement. I wouldn't be too harsh on the casting, it's very hard to follow the flow of the game when the flow is so different. This includes keeping an eye on the minimap when you're justifiably bewildered by what's going on in the main screen.
You missed Boxer's drop and set-up for that nuke. It was similar to the 2nd nuke, but much more impressive. I don't remember exactly what Boxer did, but I think he blinded an observer and created a diversion, so you could see that Terran had no idea what was happening. It was one of the most popular replays back in the day. It was the first pro game that had a nuke. I remember watching is at least a few times with friends on bnet, and we'd intently watch the entire set up of that drop in complete awe. In fact, after this replay went viral, I spent more time on bnet watching replays and observing pro games than playing myself because it was more fun. It was like watching the circus.
I'm pretty sure this wasn't "competitive play", even for 2002.
Boxer vs Stork (P) or Nal_rA (P) would be good matchups during that time.
Exactly - this was a just a game for lolz, where Boxer was making fun of the guy who badmouthed him on IRC or forum, if I remember correctly. that's why the huge difference in APM.

Boxer the only one I’ve seen that be using nukes lol. I miss the old ASL games tho firebathero, jaedong, Bush, IloveOov, stork, yellow, Boxer, forgot his name but Zerg user that was using the hatchery bug. Oh StarCraft 1 broodwar😂

I do remember the days before observer was an option!!! here however, we have 4 observer slots and 2 player slots observing. Also, today is Sunday so we had a blaster of a Sunday live stream and if you people don't know about it, you need to be joining the live streams on Sundays with Falcon Paladin and the team!
Is Terr@n[NES] a compter? He played even worse than the dumbest computer. You might just type "Show me the money" to make this game more funny.

There were no replays when SC1 original was the only thing. Only after Brood War did they happen.
I come for the brood war and stay for the brood war...
i believe nukes did 2/3 of the unit's max hp as dmg. so 2 nukes will kill any building. but the dmg type is explosive, so a muta with 9999 hp takes 4 nukes to kill. as they take 1/2 dmg from explosive.

btw at 11:28 boxer blinds the observer in the bottom right, making it impossible for Terr@n to stop the incoming nuke.

9:18 Vulture does concussive damage; it can easily DPS down the shields on a cannon that's warping in, but can't do the same with HP (they do 25% damage). Shields always take full damage. Still, amazing it was that balanced. Fun game.

This is not crazy, in S1 crazy is using a dark Templar to convert an SCV/Drone in order to build an off-racing expansion. That is crazy :)! Probably never done in a pro game as is ludicrous :)!

I was a sort of good player, definitely not actually good and far from very good or excellent. Then sometime in the past five years I decided to check the game out again and figured I'd best join a match for newbies, seeing how long it had been. I was completely overwhelmed in like five minutes, with how well the game is played these days. xD It was great and I'm sticking to solo games, map making and watching OTHER people do the PvP.

Why have I never seen an emp into a cannon wall, or emp un a base race, I thought it didnt work on p building..
good question, maybe because static defence is almost useless after midgame? you know, for upgrades and stuff. it still is good to me though

You won't see EMP being thrown as much as Plague vs Protoss' static defense since it's works well with bio units, and you rarely see Terran go bio on TvP.
