I am happy to find reviewers whose tastes are similar to mine. Your ranking is one of the best for me because it is not at all influenced by price or reputation.
Watching from USA. I like the high-quality drivers from sonion , including the new Knowles high performance RAD treble driver that's usually only found in more expensive gear.
Nice review Andy. Have them. Love them. Have smaller ears and for me, i forget they are in completely. Such an experience with the bone conduction. ❤ Give them at least 120 hours of firm burn-in. 🎉
I've had the DMA for 6 months and absolutely love it. No fitment issues for me. The only negative I could say is the stage width, but separation and depth is very good. I have been extremely surprised it hasn't gained traction.
@donglemadness 1 more thing. I do feel the Estrella ever so slightly edges out the DMA sonically, if for no other reason, due to the width of the head-stage. When you consider the build quality and accessories, the DMA is far superior for the same $.
THANK YOU ANDY! Back here again, everything mention in this video extremely legit 😉. Separation 👍🏼 Bass decay 👍🏼 On ya “for once” I kinda like MMCX found an advantage for it which is turning it adjusting the cable to the back of my ear to compensate the weird angle for my weird ear canal and loop. 😉
Hi Andy. I have this on tour and have been listening for a few days. In many ways, my observations match yours but I have a few things to add. 1. I find the discomfort to come not from the size but because the shell has distinct angles. The intersection of one of the angles creates a hot spot at the lower back concha. 2. The upper mids and treble are source dependent. With my first source, I didn't like them. Switching to a warmer source tamed the upper end, and I enjoyed them after that. 3. Separation and sound placement is above the price. Very good in my opinion! 4. The tips confused me, with wide bore tips called "bass" and narrow bore called "vocal". For me, they were the opposite and I much prefer narrow bore tips with these. 4. I haven't tried cable rolling yet, but I suspect a pure copper cable would also help smooth out the sound. 5. These have good sub-bass but not quite as much mid-bass as I'd like. I think a copper cable would also help with that. 6. I agree with you that these went under the radar and deserve much more attention! I hope you also get to try BGVP Phantom which I also got on tour and started listening to last night. DMA's "big brother" with much more comfortable shells and even more resolution.
Thanks for the feedbacks. My impressions were done primarily on foam tips provided and I like it a lot. It does smoothen up a bit more when paired with warmer sources
Fantastic review, Andy! I have been watching the price of the BGVP DMA for a couple of months, and I'm hoping it goes on sale during 11/11 sales. I'm kinda curious to see how it sounds compared to similar priced Dunu DaVinci. Keep up the amazing work!
Oh, will you be reviewing the Tansio Mirai SHOCK? The DMA reminded me of that since it's also a Tribrid with Bone Conduction and has tuning pots for Treble and Bass.
I totally recommend BGVP DMA! Although BGVP DM8 is already very good, this one give a notch higher. Since you playing Starfield, you should dive in into nexus modding :)
I thought v shaped tuning has lost its appeal to me until I auditioned a friend's Relentless. Now I feel like there should be a v-shaped IEM in my collection. But the price of these 😅
If you looking for more affordable ones, Hidizs MP145 and DUNU Titan S2 are the two V curved IEMs that tops my preferences. Even the cheap Tanchjim ZERO at $9 is illegally amazing for a superbly tuned V sound IEM
@@AndyAudioVault Andy, do you think the mp145 is still worth it after the silent revision that changed the tuning? Hearing about that kinda drove me away from it.
Sorry for asking you again, but how does the DMA compare to the S12 2024? Would you consider it an upgrade? Is there any noticeable difference? I'm this close to copping the DMA but not sure if it would be quite the investment from my S12 24.
It's not always about which one better over the other. It depends a lot on your needs and preferences. To me both DMA and S12 2024 compete equally on the same space, but I personally will choose S12 2024 all the time over everything else (only SIVGA Nightingale get even more usage time than my S12 2024). Because I love very well tuned magnetic planar speedy and airy transients/decays which reminds me a lot to Shure KSE1500 otherworldly electrostatic dynamics. So from my perspective as a user, I see S12 2024 as superior than tons of other IEMs I have with me here (except that I like SIVGA Nightingale a bit more)
Hi Andy, which do you prefer bgvp dma or letshuoer s12 2024? advice please, I am looking for "emotional" universal iems - detailed, airy, extended high frequencies, medium frequencies are not too deep, not thin and not too rough, the bass is not massive, the mid bass is controlled, cohesive, the sub bass is deep, in general the bass should not be fat and massive, but dried, percussive, deep. the sound is open, spacious, with a wide stage, without loss of detail. drive and emotions are the main thing.
Personally, I choose S12 2024 over EVERYTHING else I own, and I use it as much as I use SIVGA Nightingale, which is still my No.1 personal favorite go-to-daily IEMs - with Shure KSE1500 remans as my ultimate Endgame. Then my 3rd personal favorite is MP145. As you can clearly see, I am a single driver true electrostatics/magnetic planar fan. Wide open, airy spacious sound is the realm of true electrostatics/magnetic planars. The most emotional among them all being KSE1500 and Nightingale. But let me remind you, these are purely my PERSONAL preferences and may not be applicable to others - we are all governed by subjective personal taste and preferences, whichever works for us individually
Andy is interested in a device opposite to the onix Alpha xi 1 which is analog. advice, please, more detailed, open, cleaner, not analog, for connecting warmer iems. Thank you.
HEY! Plz tell, if i use 4.4 mm adapter on 3.5 mm IEM plug. And if i plug it into the 4.4 mm balanced output of the DAC, will that make the sound quality or anything better.??
No, you will risk damaging the DAC/Amp by overheating them because converting a single ended 3.5mm SE to a discrete 4.4mm BAL is like shorting a ground circuit. Don't do that
Just a tip. I got around the MP 145 size and weight with a 7Hz Salenotes Zero thin 4 cores cable with "curved" QDC connectors ( _other similar cables might exist, just an exemple_ ) Makes it easier to stay fit in place..
@@lasttempoinparis oh I'm actually ok with the MP145 size and weight because I have big ears. I replaced the cable with Kinera Ace 2.0 because I couldn't stand the original's ear hook
Please keep those prices near the beginning like you have been. It makes it really easy to know if I should keep watching or move on! 😅

Good to see BGVP getting back into the game. It's been a long time since I heard anything good from them.

No worries!

I find them very comfortable with Moondrop Spring tips. Have you tried those on the DMA?
The discomfort was not affected by eart tips on my ears, it is the shape of the rear side touching my skin a bit stronger than other IEMs
will u review the fiio ka15 dongle? thanks
Hopefully soon. Thanks

I think for that category you can choose something like Shanling UA4 or Roselsa 9039, or EPZ TP20 Pro
Where does it fit on your IEM table? I don't see it listed.

what is the best dongle dac with volume controls under $50?
EPZ TP20 Pro
compare to xennx mangrid tea pro , which one is better ?

@@AndyAudioVault i see revierwers in the 300-350usd iem, tea pro has the best sub bass and bass performance
How does it compare in size, weight and comfort vs the MP145?
MY145 is wider and heavier, but the shape of MP145 rear section is flatter and non bulbous which allows it to be comfortable despite the huge size
