I once received a solid mid grade copy of Adventure Comics 253 in a manila envelope with no bag or board. The book was just rolled up in the mailbox. Actually looked good when i opened it all things considered . I honestly think the seller was bitter that I won the book for 10 bucks lol
I’ve never had issues using bubble mailers as long as there’s plenty of cardboard sandwiching that book!
For sure. With cardboard it’s fine 👍
I had a couple of (thankfully cheap) books sent in a clasp mailer and the clasp wasn’t even folded down. I could see the actual books that had slid out on my front porch. Can’t believe they made it that far.
I had a graded comic sent to me in a manilla envelope (not even a bubble mailer). Granted they did have a single layer of bubble wrap. But it was an old style CGC and the tiny grade strip on top was peeling off and had a scratch on the cover. Bad enough it needs to be reholdered. It's possible that the damage happened before mailing - but it was not shown in Ebay photos. I feel that someone sending a graded book in an envelope is also the kind of seller that doesn't bother with mentioning problems in their listing.
One of my first TH-cam videos was about a graded Batman 42 that someone sent in a bubble mailer lol. It cracked in shipping.
TaR #2 yeah!
The problem with FF #48 is neither the Surfer or Galactus is on the cover. It was very hot during the comic boom, but now it’s crashed. I’d definitely stay away from it because I think it’ll keep going down. Collectors don’t seem to care as much about it anymore.
There are so many copies out there. If I remember correctly, there were several distributor boxes discovered after that it was heavily hiped in the community
@chi-tn that didn’t make more copies. That just meant there were more high grade copies. That’s why FF49 is more expensive in a 9.8 but FF48 is more expensive in lower grades. 48 is the bigger key but 49 is rare in high grade.
@@AutomaticComics Yea, that makes sense
with great deals comes great danger 😂
Nobody beats silver age Kirby on splash pages.
