@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds 3bg 1999 1,9 tdi, now almost 20 years i call it mine. I just can t sell it! It s been the most loyal and dependable of all cars i ever had!
Thank You fer making this video!! Very to the point & i appreciate ur tooling tip notifications. I found a used 2004 Passat TDI For Sale & they mention that it needs a transmission fix or replacement. They also mention there is no forward or reverse when in gear. Im guessing this could be a good possibility why it doesnt drive when in gear??
Hi could you please make a tutorial video on how to change camshaft plug on VW Passat b5.5 both driver and passenger side. Ive been looking around and could not find any tutorial that does both side. much appeciated thank you sir
I wished you made it clear how you got the top bolt out of the transmission mount. You said something about lowering the sub frame.. Do I maybe need to take the catalytic convertor off first?
Those top bolts are the hardest part of the job. I couldn't film it because of how tight the space is. You might need to remove the cat and lower the subframe with the engine, you'll need a small tool to fit as well.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds I did it after 3 days. Fortunately didn't need to remove the cat or lowered the sub frame. With a small enough custom made 8mm allan key tool I was able to go in with all of my underarm and was able to work the top bolt. Such a PITA happy I got it done without needing to cut a hole in the left side floor.
Hey Mr.Eco, can you show a photo of your custom made 8mm Allen key? In my 02 Passat it's impossible to reach the top bolt. Thanks for your reply, much helpful
@@babkadoma unfortunately I can't post pictures on YT and also looked up my pictures but couldn't find one of the tool I used. A normal small and short spanner about 12cm long and connected a small allen key bit into the spanner and made sure with black electricians tape to strap the allen key bit onto the spanner. Also have a small piece of pipe about 15 cm long to shuffle over the spanner to give you slightly more leverage to get the bolt loose. Most important take you time and try a few tools without striping the bolt. When you lay under your car lengthwise head towards the back you turn on your left side and stick your arm in between the transmission and body and your hand enters the space in the right angle to work the tools and bolt. Just be careful that you don't end up stuck with your arm. On a scale of difficulty this is about a 9 out of 10.
Hello so recently last week I had put air in my tire for atleast a minute I went back in my car to turn it on it never turned on again I had more than 3 cars trying to jumpstart it and it did not work even changed the battery and still wouldn’t turn on my starter looks new I bought a new starting relay and I even tried turning my car on neutral could it just mean I need a new starter?
My Polo is not showing the gear on the dashboard, and the gear lever cant move, its locked. The dashboard is showing P/N though its Already in park, the handbrake sign is blinking and beeping, the green foot is also not showing, diagnosis shows U0101-lpst communication with tcm. What could be wrong
I can't show it because the space is too narrow to fit my camera. Lowering the subframe might make it a little easier to get to, but it's still a pain.
That’s bad and there’s a code for the board under the shifter in the cabin. I got all the main parts and components from my previous B6 A4 when I stripped it down but the reverse was jerking in that too with the occasional highlighted gears. I’ll have to get that neutral safety when I can. Hope that’s it because a fuses, relays, ECU, TCU and ignition switch is good but it’s not cranking. Thought it might be grounds.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds it actually acted weirder than I could imagine because before it actually stopped, turning on the AC stopped working, and then when I was driving it, it would either not start, start with mispires, or start fine. After a while the last time I drove it, it either did not start, and lacked power, and the instrument cluster just started flickering. Never seen any of this before but I was told by the person that worked on my ECU that deleted the immobilzer to check the ignition switch and see if it burned out. Replaced it with a new one and did not work. So as far as ik for confirmed bad parts, even the the foot on brake indicator is lit next to the shifter, it’s that switch and the circuit board on the shifter. Even switched ECU’s with my spare and didn’t work.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds nah nothing related to not starting or that’d be what I’d check first. That’s what’s been throwing me in a loop for a month. Wires and relays from the ECU are fine but 1/ I think 5 ECU fuses have power and the engine related ECU fuses don’t. Was gonna check the starter fuse in the panel with the hood release. Everything else checks out so after this video it could very well be my problem since there’s actually a code for it.
perfect video! I'm from Germany and I didn't find one like this. Thanks for the good work.
Glad I could help!

2020 passat, push start button, says put in Park or neutral, (it IS in park). Could a bad neutral safety switch be the issue?

Algún vídeo de cambio de aceite de transmisión automática del Passat v6. 2.8 ??😊
Good job. Hard one no easy to done cause of tight space.

Why does no one show how to remove and replace the top mount bracket bolt?
Do you, or don't you, need to lower the subframe to access it?
I can't show it because the space is too narrow to fit my camera. Lowering the subframe might make it a little easier to get to, but it's still a pain.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds
How did you get it out?
Did you lower it, or use a special combination of swivels, and/or ball ended hex?
Man how’s you know my B6 A4 avant has the same bad part and I been tryna figure out why it stopped starting on me about a month or two ago🤦🏾♂️
