Thanks "Teacher T", three days ago I picked up my Super Meteor from the Royal Enfield dealership in Buenos Aires and after the first service, I took it to my city Comodoro Rivadavia, 1800 km away. I just deactivated the flashing key thanks to your tutorial. Greetings from Argentine Patagonia.
You're right about the TH-cam algorithm. I put on a notification for whenever you release a video so I'd usually watch as soon as I can but this time, i didn't even noticed you released part 2 of your trip until i watched this video. That's so strange. Oh well, going to start watching it now!
Hi Teach, not on the same subject but, I got one of those handlebar USB ports an have to say you’re right about how convenient it is an can’t understand why RE only fitted them to the 350 series. Peace of cake to fit after watching your installation vid. Many thanks again, but I still have her little brother. 💪😎
Thanks for that. One of my biggest regrets selling my Meteor 350. So I certainly will never sell the 650, even if another bike enters my life one day. 🙏
I think I'm absolutely ready to go off and buy a super meteor 650. Teacher T has taught me enough on how I can get more closer to my bike by servicing it myself. Changing oil and upgrading shocks 😁
@@rockintigger I'm not really worried about money because I made a deal with my parents I'm gonna crack one of the hardest examinations in India and they're going to buy me what I want. So I think I'm good on that part 😅😅
Greetings from the UK Teacher T. Can’t remember now if it was the first or second vid on your tour that it really hammered down with rain? When camping or staying places I’d always use an old builders gravel bag and two bungee straps to cover our leathers seats. Light showers, that dubbing wax kept the leather supple, and helped protect the diamond stitching from allowing in water. My late wife and I often rode wearing leather jeans. They also got the shoe dubbing wax treatment as well. I cheated again. I got my computer savvy grandson to get rid of that flashing service spanner, he’s a good lad 😊👍…
I think you suggested to me before about the Dubbin. Yes it was episode 1 the heavens opened. Any way we tried the Dubbin and it does seem to work. Thanks for the suggestion. Take care of that grandson 👌🙏
Hi Teacher T. Yes it was me about the dubbing. Before we went to Cornwall last year my grandson came round so I could put dubbing on his new leather jacket. It sucked in the dubbing like you wouldn't believe! On our 11-hour ride there going via the A roads for the scenery, we just passed the Eden Project when the heavens opened up. We were still about 1.5 hours away from Falmouth. When we got to our site we both had dry upper bodies including our arms. You should have been there for the laughter. I stood at the doorway taking my boots off and emptying the rainwater out of them. And my socks sounded like wet pancakes hitting the floor. After a hot bath and a change of lower clothing our jeans socks and undies went into the washing machine. The following day off we went to St Ives. Loved it, and we met and chatted to local bikers as well as you do. Looking forward to your next upload. So in the meantime safe cruising sir...
2:40 there is a way to pass the cable through the hole in the casing (not the cover). The hole is located deeper inside the case and exits towards direction of riding. 3:35 Yea using tripper means killing your phone's battery. This is due to a faulty app which aggressively discharges the phone. I've tried to keep my Pixel 7a on the extra 20000mAh battery but it still wasn't fast enough to compensate for excessive use of energy. My solution is to get Beeline and not use tripper. Additional advantage of Beeline is much better route planning than in Royal Enfield app which uses standard Google direction finder.
About the tripper. I have an iPhone 11 and use it in power save mode and screen off and phone locked with no problem. I also have a Bluetooth system so that I can hear the turn by turn instructions and listen to my music when I ride. What I find that drains the battery is the phone screen. I have the same bike as you still stock but I did take the snorcal off of the air filter to allow better air flow. I live in North Yorkshire U.K. so do a lot of day trips into the dales or moores but I am planning on doing a big road trip into Scotland next year.
Thanks. I use an iPhone 12 for filming my videos. Maybe I have to change it to my daily phone. Yes helmet Bluetooth is in the list, but with cameras, mics, drones etc, just one more thing to keep charged. I will try the snorkel removal 👌🙏
I have a short right angle adapter that i leave in my side cover. When i need it i pop the plug end out to save having to keep opening the cover. I'll pop a pic on the facebook post.
I did try a cable extender, but it wasn’t fast charging. I have since fitted the Meteor 350 usb port to my handle bars, which fits perfectly. One I have 2 fast charge ports on my bike which is handy when filming 👌🙏
I used the Tripper constantly during a 7,000 km motorbike tour and had my iPhone in my jacket pocket. I assume that the screen was not switched on the whole time. Nevertheless, everything worked very well and the iPhone's battery was drained by a maximum of 35% in seven hours.
I do think it depends on model and make of phone. I take it you were charging all the time. If I don't charge my phone battery is gone in less than 30 minutes, but that's an Oppo lol
@ That's probably true. That's why I don't understand why all the videos on the subject only ever say that using the Tripper drains the battery quickly. So to clarify: I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and seven hours of Tripper use consumes about 35% of the battery capacity. That's why I don't use the USB port for charging at all.
Hello, your system is not bad but don't you think it would have been better to put a black wire it is less visible, if you use Google GPS, when there is a change of direction the GPS tells you to turn right or turn left, it is a voice that comes from Google, I put headphones in like that I listen quite clearly in my helmet, I don't know if you agree

The shocks are the first thing to change, before noisy exhausts 😂🙏 Thank you 🙏
You won’t regret it, but the Teach is right about the shocks, best mod you can do, unfortunately not the cheapest 😔

I’m happy using my tripper. The App has slowly improved, and much better to use, including drop pins. I will look for the hole 😂🙏

If you don't already know; go to the hardware store & buy some liquid electrician tape to dab on to cover that bad area on your cut wire. Cheers!!!
