He sings this one in memory of their former bass player Paul Gray who passed away. That's a reason for so much emotion. It's not the original backstory to the song but that's kinda where it goes now.
I was just about to write the exact same thing ;D also I think that Corey has some special powers because I would swear that Elisabeth came at least twice while listening to him ;)
Back in the early days of Slipknot, nobody would ever think this guy could pick up an acoustic guitar and just sing his heart out. The man has an amazing voice looking past the screaming.
This song is one he wrote with the help of his best friend Paul Gray. Evidently it became Paul Grays favorite song, sadly Paul passed away. So now at every live show, Corey plays this song as a tribute to Paul. The emotion you hear in his voice and can see in his expression when getting to certain lines are genuine, it’s hard for him to sing this song, which is why the audience helps him by singing it with him. Truly bittersweet.
Take a look at the whole concert "Cory Taylor koko London" Especially the song "Bother" there you can really hear the crowd singing, and especially the guy you hear in this. Insane crowd, best live concert i've heard.
I think that everytime I hear this version of the song! And the song is definitely better for it :D not to belittle anything Corey does, he is wonderful - but one singer can only do so much!
He wrote this song with Gray, but it was dedicated to an ex girlfriend who left him in a difficult time. His sorrow while singing is caused by the loss of the friend that helped him to exorcize his inner demons. Most of us probably can relate to it
That's what life is right? Eventually most of us can always relate in some way or another. People have a habit of thinking (often when something bad happens) that nobody could know their pain. But that's just not true. Chances are most people actually can. Very few people get thru life without losing someone they love. Unless of course you're a sociopath or a psychopath or something in which case you're gonna get thru life without caring about anyone but yourself (just hopefully don't end up a serial killer or something). Hurray for small favors!
Yeah this became my favorite song for a whole year non stop listening because it’s reminded me of a tough time and it just felt so surreal to hear the song everytime
I was the alcoholic of my group, 3 of us. Big dude, Quan and myself. Big dude was a big goofy white dude who I instantly just didn't respect. Never know why but I didn't so I called him Big dude for legit 3 years. He's a big goofy white dude, I was a scrawny scrappy Italian, Quan, a nigga 😆 fuck that guy smh. Anyway, we did the thing for a decade, me and Quan moved to the city but big dude stayed and got married to a woman and had 2 beautiful babies. Years went by and I got a call from his mom that he died in a car accident he caused by drinking and driving. That devastated me because I am the group alcoholic. That was supposed to be me. Not him. He never fucking called to talk about his problems. He bottled them up but I knew I should've known better to talk to him more but my problems were taking all my time. I left big dude behind and I hate it so much. I need a cigarette.
To me the part that gets to me is "I only wished you weren't my friend/then I could hurt you in the end"... This song is powerful anyway, every sentence just hits perfectly
The line I can emotionally connect the best with is actually "My love was punished long ago". For me, it means that you get punished with heartbreak and mental pain for loving somebody that does not love you back.
Corey will always ask the audience to support him with this song. I was in a snotty tearful mess singing along in Toronto May 31 2022. The catharsis that I felt from being with 30+ thousand people feeling this entire show all at once has been a pivotal point in my life. Thank you Slipknot, for saving my life.
This song is incredibly hard for Corey to sing, whenever it sounds like he's about to cry, its because he is. The song has taken on new meaning for Corey since he wrote it. RIP Paul Gray.
@@Martin-claesson All of this, he delivers this song almost exactly the same every live performance. He tears up a bit before it finishes, not because of the reasons behind what he wrote the song about but because of his friend Paul that died and how it reminds him of Paul. This song is more linked to Paul than it is to his ex from 10+ years ago.
@@Martin-claesson I believe there's at least one video where he stops mid song because he does fall apart, but he's professional enough to pull it back together and finish
Seriously prime example when metal artists sing acoustic versions of the songs it gives people who aren't used to the genre to digest the lyrics a lot better to understand the artists better.
Just because something is skillful doesnt mean it has to be pleasant. And people prefer pleasant, they are not in the wrong for that. when its stripped down like this and without any electronics, it becomes way more pleasant so most people like it this is not a jab at artists who do heavy music, personally I love metal and most associated genres to it, but Ill always understand why most people dont like heavier things, they are not in the wrong, if anything it makes complete sense
People tend to underestimate Corey, because he's the lead singer in a metal band and he growls a lot, but he is truly an amazing singer. His technique is impeccable.
@@henrickhansel due to the image of metal bands, growling will probably never be appreciated until metal reaches the popularity it had during the early 2000s. I tried to growl a couple times and it is very difficult learning the technique.
"it took the death of hope to let you go" such a powerful line. song is about his ex wife and his drugs and alcohol addiction. she helped him through a suicide attempt and getting sober but then she had to leave. its really sad the utter pain in his voice and lyrics. beautifully haunting.
I understand it. My beautiful wife has been there for my drug addiction, relapses, and all. Yet she stood by my side. I have no idea why, and everytime I ask why she stayed with me, her answer is always the same, "I know that wasn't the true you.".
Yeah for real. I find Corey Tayler to have one of the most versatile, powerful and wide-ranging voices in the entire industry. This dude makes it seem easy, while he's reaching the most extreme places with his voice. The emotion he can put into his singing is unreal, whether he's singing melodicly, grunting, singing with grit,...doesn't matter, he can do it all. I sing in a band with some friends just as a hobby and I would give my left arm to have a voice even remotely like that. Exquisite
This is honestly one of the deepest songs ever written. I love stories in songs and I love when I can feel the lyrics and they make me shiver like it’s electricity.

His emotion is raw, and real. His best friend and bassist Paul Gray passed away and he plays this as a tribute to him. He struggles to get through it every time without completely breaking down.
I’m not a person who is known to be very emotional but this song makes me cry every time I hear it.. Something about the grit in Corey’s voice that breaks me. 😢
Corey's, as a comedian, would describe as a comic that doesn't write jokes. Comics that don't write jokes have stories. Corey is a musician with stories. He doesn't sing for a pay check he creates music because it's his expression. When I get on stage I talk about the day, not work new material all the time. I don't got material, I got shit to talk about. When people give you genuine expression it hits different. You can feel when someone is selling you a lie or their soul. That's my opinion. This hits because everyone can relate drastically. It's just a man with a guitar at any bon fire after the mushrooms hit and he got the answers he sought. Simple. Beautiful. Profound. Priceless. Get it on vinyl.
I played this for my GF and she totally said she looks like a Disney character! I'd seen this and your comment yesterday and absolutely died laughing when she said that! 😂😂😂
not to sound salty but to me it seems like that's because she's deliberately overreacting... at around 9:20 that's just a little much.. maybe it's just her being her but it sure doesn't seem genuine to me
@@brohvakiindova4452 She is indeed being genuine, she studies and teaches music. Don't you think she feels the music with more intensity then you as it seems? Maybe you've never seen anyone get excited about something they love in your life.
I love how excited she gets just from their voice. Such a friendly and bubbly personality. Her videos definitely bring my day up a bit. As a grumpy old vet, positive happy content like this helps a lot.
I don’t know where you served nor does it matter, but thank you for your service to whichever country it may be. I’m hoping to join the military once I’ve finished my A Levels (further UK education)
Found a comment on the original video (allegedly) from the VERY loud guy in the audience. He said he was sorry that he could be heard on the recording, but he claims that the song is literally the story of his own misery and he just pours his heart out to Corey by singing and letting him know he's not alone.
"All of that was ripped apart, when you refused to fight" sums up my last relationship so well. She got sick and I stuck by her, quit my job to take care of her, put my dreams and wishes on hold for 2 years to make sure she was cared for. Then when she got better and I needed some care for my mental health, at first she was supportive, but on the day she didn't want to stick around, didn't care and cut me off. Turns out she had someone else lined up who didn't need help with mental health. So yeah a week later I played this song just before I was about to attempt suicide, but luckily I was stopped and got the help I needed.
@@sirmattalmighty Thank you :) Yes I certainly am. Got the help I needed, am on meds that took a few different ones to get right, but yeah, am feeling great :)
That’s heartless, no one can do for you like you can do for yourself. Pursue a life with a purpose that amkes the struggle worth while. As you follow your purpose along the path you’ll meet similarly minded people. They’ll make much better companions.
I'm so sorry that **@#!** did that to you, and to such a loving person such as yourself. And I'm really glad you're among the living and doing better!! (And of course you needed help after being the primary caretaker for 2 solid years! it's exhausting both mentally and physically for any primary caretaker.) i hope whatever you are doing, all your wonderful dreams and wishes are granted and good things come to you 1000x.
You should never help someone expecting they'll help you back, if you do help, do it because you want to, of course she could've helped you more, but she's not obligated to love you just because of what you did, that's not how love works
A famous poet from the early 1800s named Lord Tennyson wrote a poem with a similar theme.... "They said that love would die when hope was gone... And love sorrowed long when hope was gone.... Finally love met memory and trod the same paths she used to walk with hope... Memory fed the soul of love with tears..." something like that... It's a pretty deep poem...
Slipknot is fantastic. Everyone just listens to the growl or the scream in heavy metal. I love that plus the lyrics are for the most part like this song extremely powerful.
@@AhHereWeGo it works so much better as a slipknot song, the album version has those powerful guitar riffs and drums that make the song just that much more powerful
Whenever he performs this acoustically, he dedicates it to Paul Gray, his best friend who passed away. (Paul was also the bass player and a founding member of Slipknot)
And remember when you watch this: The same guy and the same crowd sang the Spongebob Theme song on the same evening. Corey's a beast, a master, a genius .
Definitely a good suggestion! I never cared much for Slipknot (which seems to be kind of a weird exception for a metal head born in the 90's and grown up in the early 2000's), but I absolutely enjoy his Stone Sour stuff, he definitely is a great clean singer (and of course does well with the harsh vocals, too)
I've been a Slipknot fan since the beginning, and I remember the first time I heard a Stone Sour song on the radio a friend told me that was Corey Taylor singing. At first I didn't believe him. And now I've been a Stone Sour fan since then. I actually prefer Stone Sour a lot more these days, getting older and the super heavy stuff doesn't quite catch my attention like it used to.

@@mtgguiltfeeder4111 Corey actually doesn't wright much of Slipknots music at all. This was writte by Paul Gray, and the reason for this song in particular is that Paul is dead
@@jaymyne1 wasn’t talking about snuff, I was answering OP about the song “Bother”. Also Coreys name is on almost every single slipknot songs credits, dude writes more than you would expect I bet...
"This is the slow one. It's another personal one. Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down. At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory." - Corey Taylor "Corey doesn't really write music for Slipknot - but, when he came over to hear the songs Paul [Gray, bassist] and I were working on for All Hope Is Gone, he showed me this… I had him lay a scratch track down in the studio. Then I went in late at night, without telling him, and laid down some drums… When he heard it the next day, he started crying. It's Corey's masterpiece." - Joey Jordison (Slipknot, drums)
Commenting early on this one. The song is about a woman who helped him a lot in the past but turned out she didn't have the same feelings for him as he did for her. Snuff was the last single they released before bass guitarist Paul Gray died a year later, this is why he tends to get emotional when playing this song live
exactly - was raised in the typical men don't cry and second place is the first loser household... the lyrics and emotion that come out of Corey in this song rip the tears from my eyes no less now than the first time I heard it what... 10 years ago maybe a little less?
Yep. That's probably the sole difference between boys and men: boys are afraid of themselves and their emotions, they want to look tough as if nothing can break them. Men cry because they don't give a fuck, they're already broken
What made these concerts so special was this was actually part of his book tour. He would read book excerpts, the crowd would yell out questions and Cory played 5 or six songs telling stories along the way .It had such an organic feel.
The grit and raspiness in his voice is pure sadness and Corey every time he sings this holds and fights back tears for his mate and friend/brother Gray
Speaking of emotion: He played this song on an acoustic show not long after Paul Grays death (he was the bassist of Slipknot) and actually started crying close to the end and got completely overwhelmed when he was finished. There is no professional recording of this but it's incredibly moving anyway.
It is about a depressing time in his life, but when he says “it’s just hard to get through.” He’s referring to his bass player in slipknot that passed away. This was his favorite song
The song was written about his addiction and marriage that fell apart because of it. Paul passed away less than a year after its release.. From then on he dedicated it to him, because Paul championed that song to get finished in the first place. And, it's quite fitting as well. 😓 He DID do the acoustic version specifically for him though.
Corey has a vocal range of 5 octaves and more. Amazing. And when he remembered Slipknot bassist Paul Gray or when he received a vocal award, he hadn't fear to cry
Yeah for real. I find Corey Tayler to have one of the most--if not the most--versatile, powerful and wide-ranging voices in the entire industry. This man makes it seem easy, while he's reaching the most extreme extremes with his voice. His range reminds me of Freddy Mercury, and that is a gigantic compliment. Also, the emotion he can put into his singing is unreal, whether he's singing melodicly, grunting, singing with grit or lashing out towards the highest notes...doesn't matter, he can do it all. I sing in a band with some friends just as a hobby and I would give my left arm to have a voice even remotely like that. One of a kind, an exquisite vocal genius
This song crushes me every time I hear it, and yet it's one of my all-time favorites. Corey Taylor is one of the most talented and versatile artists of the 21st century; a lyrical, instrumental, and vocal powerhouse who never phones in ANYTHING.
Corey's singing is an emotional bomb, the dude has a very wide vocal range and he blends it perfectly with that grit. As always your videos are beautiful, Elizabeth. If you enjoyed the crowd singing in this one, check out "Bother" from the same show as the one you just watched. You'll love it!
Oh yeah, and if you want to check out a bit more of his higher range, he participated in a documentary produced by Dave Grohl called Sound City. Dave invited a LOT of artists to showcase the history of the Studio City studio. He sings "From Can to Can't" and that song is BEAUTIFUL.
"I only wish you weren't my friend Then I could hurt you in the end..." This is an emotional one and my absolute favorite. Insta-like, Elizabeth. You nailed everything in my book. Even the thumbnail is a banger as well.
@@TheCharismaticVoice I'd like to think that sometimes Kirk is such a troll to you for picking out the crazy ones 😆 Gotta say it's a tie between the thumbnails for Ne Obliviscaris and Beth + Joe :)
The reason you’re hearing and seeing… The grit… The facial expressions… The emotion… The eyes… The scars… The up and down of his pitches is because… This is real to him… This is raw expression from a true artist… Corey Taylor is unique…
Fun fact: Corey quite literally hurts when singing snuff because it is so emotionally painful for him that he is usually on the verge of an emotional break down
This song is about Corey's first wife Scarlett. In 2003, he tried to commit suicide by jumping off of a balcony and his friend Thom stopped him. Scarlett threatened to leave Corey after that if he didn't get sober and get his mental health in order. He did, but they divorced in 2007. He seemed upset that it wasn't enough and obviously still loved her. Your enthusiasm is wonderful to see and I really appreciate this reaction. You're doing a great job. ❤
The reason Corey tells the audience to sing along to this song is because a lot of times he completely breaks down and starts crying and can’t perform, and then the audience keeps singing the song, there are videos of that, it’s really beautiful
I always said Corey has the voice of an Angel and a Demon, growing up I always heard him scream but loved when he used his softer voice like in Vermillion pt. 2 and Dead Memories.
"I still press your letters to my lips, and cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss" is the greatest lyric I've ever heard about dealing with longing for lost love. It's better than any line of poetry I've ever read as well.
As mentioned, the song is now a tribute to Paul Gray and he only sings in his solo acoustic sessions. It was originally about love, the loss of hope and then becoming bitter towards a SO. It holds soooo much weight with so many people because at some point we've been there.
after my fiance cheated on me it tore me up to the poin't i attempted to OD 4 times this song still rings true " If you still care don't ever let me know" because it makes a person relive the pain.
i feel like he looked up to paul for his help to sing the song. he looked up asking paul to help him sing the song that he loved so much, the song that corey sings for paul
The way she feels the music/singing and her passion for it is how everyone should feel about their passions. Find someone who looks at you like she does music!
Corey Taylor is a master of keeping the fans engaged. As the frontman of Slipknot, he will address the crowd and interact with them all throughout their sets. It super makes you feel like you're more than just an onlooker when they play.
I've seen them live a few times, and I remember, first time I saw them, right after his neck/throat surgery. He explained his doctor had told him he could only jump on stage once, so he saved it all night to do it with the entire crowd during Spit it out
When he sings this song now, it isn't about the girl. It's about one of his best friends. Paul. He helped him write this song. It was very emotional for both of them from what I understand.
One thing I love about music, and really all art in general, is that it ceases to belong to you once you release it. Sure, it was written about something important to you (the artist), but every fan is going to connect with the lyrics in different ways and different parts will be meaningful to some that are filler for others....and thats okay. Its one thing that makes music absolutely beautiful. Thats also why I've never cared if a song wasn't about a thing that happened to the one writing it. It shouldn't matter whose story it is for it to have an impact. Take the song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day. Billie Joe said he wrote it about the death of his father I think. The music video, though, shows a young couple in middle america torn apart by the war in iraq/afghanistan. To a lot of people, the song is about 9/11/2001 and a "war on terror" that has lasted until this year, a war that has left countless men and women widows, countless mothers childless, and countless veterans traumatized for life. It seemed like September 11 went on and on and on and on and on, and in a way it did. Both meanings can be true. Same with this song exactly like you said. It started about a girl, but when Paul died the lyrics hit different. It could be that he doesn't even think of the girl anymore when he hears this, and thats okay. Maybe he thinks of both. I have always been a writer and lover of words and how they can both cut you like a knife and give a profound sense of relief even decades later. Sometimes only 1 line has meaning to the listener, and thats okay too. I don't really have a point...just waxing poetic about the beauty of music I guess. Must be Monday.
This song always just crushes my heart when I hear it. My tears just flow every time. I love Corey and his voice. Can you analyse more of Corey’s songs? Stone Sour and Slipknot? Can you listen to Bother by Stone Sour and tell us what you think please :)
I know this is late but, "His neck is very open..." His neck is more open and wider and larger than 90% of the population of the world. This is the song that made me understand how important and effective emotion is in a song. Thank you, Sir Neck.
Corey has the widest vocal range in rock history. But what’s really amazing about him is the lyrics he writes. It’s so deep, intelligent, diverse and emotional. A true talented poet.
It amazes me that someone professionally trained, as you are, can still listen with such excitement. It seems a lot of individuals at your level lose the ability to enjoy it anymore. You have an extremely powerful and beautiful voice, yet you are able to give us insight into the vocal performance without letting your knowledge suck all of the fun out of it for yourself. Your enthusiasm is contagious.

it's so sad to think he wrote that song cause he losted Paul Gray who was in the band and was his best friend in life. He even recentrly declared that he was tired of Slipknot since Paul was dead.
@@olifer5961 sorry but no. Corey dedicate the song to Paul since he died, but it was written and even performed (2008) before Paul died (2010). At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself."
you should react to corey in his other band, stone sour. their song "bother" is pretty emotionally heavy like snuff. official video should be good enough.
Corey Taylor really is one of the best metal vocalists out there. He doesn't have the classical notes of Geoff Tate or Bruce Dickinson, but for pure tone and emotive quality, whether belting things like Duality or going gravelly melodic with Snuff, his incredible talent cannot be denied. Man, this song always gives me chills.
He does say at the beginning of the song "It's very hard to get through, so I'm obviously gonna need your help on this". I love Corey and your reaction is one of the best I've seen so far.
Corey Taylor is such an amazing and underrated singer. Even though he does do clean vocals with Slipknot, causal fans just know the guttural stuff and are amazed when they hear predominately clean vocals in Stone Sour. I've seen both bands in concert and he's absolutely incredible.
@@suckme2149 underrated outside of his genre, most people see metal bands and think "screamy shite", without ever listening to it, and wouldn't bother to acknowledge stuff like this performance
@@redfive02 even some metal elitist disregard slipknot as garbage actually so yeah not underrated in their field but they are generally underrated and specially Stone Sour flies under a lot of people's radar
I feel like the emotions he puts in this song are now more about their bassist that passed away. This was the last song they released before that. That's why he tends to look upwards.
This song never fails to make me cry, the lyric if I'm alone I cannot hate, and if I can change I hope I never know is so full of self loathing and it hits so deep. In some sense I still struggle with the implications of identifying with those lyrics, but it also empowers me to fight to change and open myself up to the world. This song will always have a special place in me. I'm glad you reacted to this. Thank you
When he tries. And right now, since about 2019, he's really been trying. Before that, he was very inconsistent and complacent for a decade easily, at least when it came to live performances. He stopped pushing himself and fell back on demons a lot. Now the only thing that really glares in his live performances is age. But stripped down shows like this really allow him to showcase his vocals without straining himself too much.
The moment you realize that Corey's asking the audience for help not simply because he wants to make the audience feel included, but, because he is so emotionally connected to the song that he legitimately cannot get through a live performance of the song without "help;" and, that's what makes the live performances of this song great. Edit: It's, probably, been mentioned before, you might've already reviewed it, but Through Glass by Stone Sour is a good follow up to this song.

I love that someone else is so connected with music in the sense no matter what genre it is, you are moved In a way as if the music runs through you, touches your heart and soul and leaves everlasting emotions or a conscious connection that almost leaves you speechless in awe or excitement like the fire inside your soul is sparked or ignited every time you reach a deep respect for just pure talent! It’s good to see someone get excited and moved by music as I do, to the point where you can’t hide what your feeling! Love it! You are a beautiful soul and a beautiful person and I love your passion!
This song was about one of his ex's originally.. but the reason he asks everyone to sing along with him is because of the pain he stills for his former band member Paul. We all cry along with him. We all miss Paul so much. But he normally breaks down while performing this song, and even when he does, people just carry the song forward. It's one of the things that makes us love Cory Taylor. Just my two cents.
Naahh.. she clearly has a "toner" for his voice and how he uses it. I mean, people that study music to the point of really 'mastering' it and making a living from it (like her) are definetely more sensitive to music in comparison to other people. It means that people like her experience stronger emotions when exposed to music, wich causes strong physical reactions.
This song makes me cry everytime I hear it. I think it touches a nerve, and his perfect delivery focuses the emotion from that nerve right to my soul. He's a master of his craft.
Your reactions are always so comprehensive and on point - not only musically (where we can learn a bit about the technical side of the story) but also I love how you analyse the overal emotion and message of the songs. So now at every live show, Corey plays this song as a tribute to Paul. The emotion you hear in his voice and can see in his expression when getting to certain lines are genuine, it’s hard for him to sing this song, which is why the audience helps him by singing it with him. Truly bittersweet.

Most people don't realize the poetry in a lot of heavy music. And also how vocally talented they are. They don't just scream and make animal noises.
Seriously prime example when metal artists sing acoustic versions of the songs it gives people who aren't used to the genre to digest the lyrics a lot better to understand the artists better.
Just because something is skillful doesnt mean it has to be pleasant. And people prefer pleasant, they are not in the wrong for that. when its stripped down like this and without any electronics, it becomes way more pleasant so most people like it

@@AwesomeECKS2461 this^
I think his voice cracking on the word hurt on "then I could hurt you in the end" comes across as the most emotional point that most
people miss.
When he gives the first “grittiness” her eyes open wide like she had just sipped a fine wine”.
The way she feels the music/singing and her passion for it is how everyone should feel about their passions. Find someone who looks at you like she does music!
I'm trying not to crush, but gosh it's difficult. 😅
@@chrismeadows4216 legit 😅
I would love to see that as well!!!!!!!
So so soooo many to choose from. From Slipknot to Stone sour and a gazillion side projects. ❤️❤️❤️
Or hesitate
I love this recommendation. Bother would be a great reaction!
Stone sour songs for sure he is just a great singer imo
I know this is late but, "His neck is very open..." His neck is more open and wider and larger than 90% of the population of the world. This is the song that made me understand how important and effective emotion is in a song. Thank you, Sir Neck.
Corey has the widest vocal range in rock history. But what’s really amazing about him is the lyrics he writes. It’s so deep, intelligent, diverse and emotional. A true talented poet.
No hes not. He is 5. The widest is Mike patton.
Corey's idol😂
Chris Cornell???
I’d put Phil anselmo up there too
"Widest"

"Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down. At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself."
Watch the original video of this song and you will understand the song better.

I don’t see how anyone can make it through this song without a tear! It rips through me
I’ve listened to this song hundreds of times. Sitting here now. Gives me goosebumps still. Slipknot forever! RIP Joey
Absolutely soul deep song. I don't know how many times I have watched and listened to that concert, that song in particular as well
you should react to corey in his other band, stone sour. their song "bother" is pretty emotionally heavy like snuff. official video should be good enough.
true that
The acoustic version from that same show is amazing
yes i suggested this song and absolutely his next best acoustic song.
It’s actually his original band
Brother is amazing.
Underrated? Where are you getting that from? He is far from underrated, always one muppet in the comments who uses the word underrated.
Thank you
Corey Taylor is one of the purest vocalists there is today
10/10, bro.
I met him a few years back - nothing to do with music. Such a nice guy and very polite.
@@shanialover I have, and they made me groan appropriately. Where are you finding these jokes?
@@shanialover OK, I laughed. But you understand laughter is not really permitted with such jokes.
I mean, I LOVE Shania's humor.
She rode her own emotional rollercoaster through this. That's the beauty of music. And I'm fairly certain she fell in love with Corey! Lol
Who wouldn't
The crowd helping him is so awesome. We all know this pain. Keep up your awesome reviews.
The moment you realize that Corey's asking the audience for help not simply because he wants to make the audience feel included, but, because he is so emotionally connected to the song that he legitimately cannot get through a live performance of the song without "help;" and, that's what makes the live performances of this song great. Edit: It's, probably, been mentioned before, you might've already reviewed it, but Through Glass by Stone Sour is a good follow up to this song.
true and less we forget the past /the other one very still much alive in my head too , //////////////the one /who hates everyone i dont , yet even though its the truth hes the one doing it i still get the blame , i call it the father did it too syndrome , seems like the best avenue!
"The grit in his voice is so delicious" damn i LOVE your choice of words!!! Our souls feed on good and honest music, it nourishes it and helps our mind function
The contrast between the pain in his voice and the joy on your face make an absolutely perfect performance even better.
No matter how many times I listen to this song ,still get goosebumps everytime. Amazing
"It took the death of hope to let you go" That line hits me the hardest. Absolutely love this song❤
I love how passionate you are!
10:24 I’d say that’s why those of who love this kind of music listen to it - the raw emotion and intensity of the music
Give Vermillion pt. 2 a listen to that might be another you'd have fun reacting to...

Naahh.. she clearly has a "toner" for his voice and how he uses it.
I mean, people that study music to the point of really 'mastering' it and making a living from it (like her) are definetely more sensitive to music in comparison to other people.
It means that people like her experience stronger emotions when exposed to music, wich causes strong physical reactions.

In my opinion, another great example of Corey's vocal emotion was on 'Bother' by Stone Sour, would love to see you review this track!
I agreeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
I agree, with "Bother" being great or maybe even review some of the other good vocal songs, with his band stone sour; "Through The Glass", "Say You'll Haunt Me", or the cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Games".
