This guy is seriously one of the most undervalued riders in the sport.
Sooo glad we have guys like you to help us along the way! Thanks caleb!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video, really appreciate the explanation and the time you spend explaining everything, keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
Very helpful..... The walk through of your line on the hill makes it super easy to see what to do and where to do it.
Love the videos!
Thanks for watching!
You said the sled will go where I look. I look at the top of hills and it doesn't always go there 😂😂
Look harder 😂😂
:D
Awesome vid bro!!! You really broke it down clearly, and I liked you explaining potential errors. Thanks Caleb!
Thanks for watching!
Best snowmobiling videos on YT for sure! What kind of gear ratios are you running? Would be really cool to see a breakdown of your preferred sled setups for your riding styles. Keep it up gents, lots of winter left!
I'm running the QD2
Awesome vid! And love that you're offering to critique submitted videos
Thanks for watching!
This channel is epic, keep it up brother! I’m up here in Alaska and fairly new to sport, two years in… I just picked up 2022 Alpha 165. Is the 165” track harder to do these on?
Now to try it in Australian snow this winter coming :)
Thanks Caleb!
Great explanation.
Keep it up. Thank you
Thanks for watching! Good luck on the mountain!
Great video !!! Appreciate your hard work! Can you also do a video on down hill hop over and re-entry?) since you doing it better then everyone !🤟🏻🤙🏻
It's on the list! I'll do those soon!
Well done!
Awesome!!!🤘
Sweet video man thank you! Where can I cop one of those proven progression stickers!?
Thanks for the advice caleb! I'm going to try to nail my first bowtie tomorrow. 2 feet of freshies to be had on the MT/ID border! Also wondering, do you find it easier with a cut tunnel, shorter track? I'm having a bit of difficulty with my 19 gen 4 summit 165. Thinking besides my lack of skills in this department, the wider rails and longer track inhibits agility to an extent.
A cut tunnel does make bowties easier because there's nothing holding the sled from pivoting. All it takes is a little steeper hill and a little more commitment to get a bowtie on a longer track/tunnel
I need to learn this move on the Khaos 165 ;D
Nice!🤩
Are these maneuvers mostly reserved for full mountain sleds ? I live in southern Ontario which is mainly trail riding. I bought a Switchback Assault thinking I could get the best of both worlds. Can I be riding in the steeper stuff using these techniques on a my 144" track Assault ? Your vids are awesome, thanks !!
It might be slightly harder but yes you can! You just need a good spot to practice!
Caleb, do you have any thoughts on worrying about nailing your thigh with the handle bars on the way down? even with my steering post forward on my skidoo it worries me. Lol
That’s not something I’ve had an issue with or seen happen at my clinics. But it definitely could happen!
👍
I'm practicing on 10 to 12ft snow drifts out in the prairies, straight up straight down. I'm beginning to realize that might be much harder then on a mountain side, rolled many times and fell off dozens more😩😅
Wind packed drifts aren't the same as loose mountain powder. The loose snow is much easier to maneuver in. Once it gets hard packed or a crusty ice layer it's hard to turn tight without lots of throttle and attitude to get the track to dig in.
Whats the main goal of doing a bowtie? Esthetics or there is a practical purpose? I’m new to backcountry sledding so forgive my ignorance.
The sled will go where you look
Me: look at those pretty trees 😬
Прекрасный подход к объяснению того что получается у тебя превосходно
Is a 2.6 track a big disadvantage for this move?
Do you prefer Fox coil or air shock?
Depends, I like air shocks for how versatile they are but I like the consistancy of coils
Is a stock sled capable of doing this with a non-ridiculously excellent rider such as yourself?
Absolutely
Can you still do it if your not that heavy? Like 100 pounds?
Yes, it just takes more finesse
Gravity
Fu** ya caleb, keep it up 👍
You think you could do this on a 2009 stock m8
Yes I definitely can. You just need snow that has more traction and a steeper hill
anything is possible with enough willpower, but that chassis isn't really designed to be tossed around like that.
It's an arctic cat, it wont be able to do it
Can I do this with my yamaha nytro lol 😆
Yea, maybe with my stock viper. Lol
I've done it with both My Nytro and old trusty Srx700, mostly by pure luck when I've been in full panic mode when realize I'am not going to make it up the hill... 😂
@@aneeshmack4737 had a viper brand new it was a pos. Bought nytro 10 times better built
@@LifeWideOpen780 good to know
It can be done
