    Another well done video Dan. I have been wanting to try this and after watching numerous riders attempts/fails, see that there was more to it that throttle. Armored up this move will be tried... The Throttle-side side hill is now getting more comfortable, practice being the key.

    Finominal video Dan!! Can't wait to get out on the hill and try out some of these tips for myself!
    So far, my first season in the mountain game with the 16' RMK= get the basics down, develop good habits, get used to the new skill set.
    Next year, season #2= practice, practice, & more practice, try technical moves more, and hopefully land a re-entry by season end! #setHIGHgoals
    Overall, most importantly= HAVE FUN!!!!
    I will definitely continue to stay tuned in for upcoming videos, such invaluable teachings! Keep up the great work Dan. Stay safe in the pow!

    I just figured this out last weekend out of neccessity cuz I got into a nasty climb that ended where a sheer cliff began.
    The thoughts in my dome were,
    1. stop at the bottom of the cliff and fight the sled to turn it around or
    2. grab the throttle, stand it up, look over my left shoulder and hope for the best.
    I went for the latter and my buddys watchin my dumb ass said that was the best re entry that theyd ever seen, I even landed right side up on both skis and not on my side. Lucky me

    you should do a demo of what you will explain in full at the beginning, with action shots throughout and then final demo. I know it's more editing but would GREATLY improve the presentation. I need to learn by seeing first, then narration and slow-mo would be great for detailed moves

    I love these videos! I’m headed out west for my first time and one thing I’m not quite good at is simply traversing the deep snow. It sounds dumb but i can maneuver just fine but i have to stand on the same side running board in order to turn but i see these guys just standing up and going everywhere they want. I live in northern Wisconsin so maybe it’s because i don’t have as much snow but I’m unsure.

    • @coltenthiel4563
      @coltenthiel4563 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the blurp in throttle that Dan talks about. You need to get on it just for a sec, but enough that the track digs in and allows the sled to roll to whichever side you're leaning. Also, countersteer while you're doing it

  • @gregoire220
    @gregoire220 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you think a turbo sled is necessary or should this be doable on a stock axys (6000-8000' range)? I can't seem to get that wheelie / up and over weightless feeling and it feels like I'm underpowered. Underskilled also a likely culprit. Thanks, it's nice to have some instructional videos geared towards intermediate / advanced riders.

    • @NextLevelRidingClinics
      @NextLevelRidingClinics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A turbo definetely helps for sure but its still totally doable on a stock machine with the right terrain, technique and momentum.

  • @NicoleSleds
    @NicoleSleds ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Dan! Female rider here working on re entries. Can you explain the exit a little more? I understand the feet coming forward, but what to anticipate when you are landing in a track/trench. Thanks!

    • @NextLevelRidingClinics
      @NextLevelRidingClinics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and thanks for reaching out.
      Landings will vary and greatly depend on the steepness of the slope as well as the depth of the snow. I think bringing your feet forward allows you to absorb the impact with your knees into the console of the machine. This helps you stay a bit more connected with the sled. If we keep our body away from the sled and it abruptly stops into the snow or rutted landing we usually pack into the sled a lot harder and could cause injury. Just continue to practice and remember that finding perfect natural areas with plenty of snow are great zones to work on Re-entries or downhill hop-unders.
      Ride safe !! 👊

  • @jc9601
    @jc9601 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Dan, can you define “ burning brake” and in what application do you use it.
    Im a tree rider, i am real good on my edges for side hilling but i find it at times difficult when im climbing in the tighter trees that the sled can get out off control or i over shoot. I find this issue more at low to mid speeds, at wot and good ground speed i generally dont have this issue, i look and go where i look.
    Tks Dan for another great tip vid. Iv had to many neck injury’s so ill pass on this stunt lol
    Jeff

    • @petr0rabbit
      @petr0rabbit 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      burning the brake is using the brake and the throttle at the same time. Basically you use a bunch of throttle to get your sled to do what you want and you cancel a part of the forward momentum created with your brake to keep control instead of going flying from the big throttle input.

    • @jbcool2423

    • @NextLevelRidingClinics

      A bow tie is a move that’s done typically wrong foot forward with the intent to stay heading in the same direction you started sidehilling. A re-entry is typically done in the neutral position and is more of a up and then down maneuver.
